I use a similar technique to uncover scammers on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc). I get a friend request from a sweet young thing and about an hour, or less, after approving their friendship the messages start.

Typical BS questions. I ask them where they live. Let's say she respond Houston. Then I check the current weather in Houston on the weather.com. For example the current weather may be rain & storms. So ask the woman how is the weather in Houston. They usually say it is "beautiful and warm". So now that I know they are a fake, I start f at #$ing with them.

My fav is telling them I am looking to buy crypto currency, but don't know how. I need help. Then the fun really begins.

I do like you idea of asking them about non-existent neighborhoods. Got to try that trick next.

The crazy part of the recent AI engines is that they are very adept at SOUNDING correct. Often times the answers are completely wrong. But you would not know unless you double-checked.
