Speaking generally, not on any specific situation, sometimes it may not be the provider's fault. A customer, maybe one who hasn't had much success with women and who might have preexisting psychological problems, mistakes the compensated sex and companionship of a prostitute for a real relationship, perhaps even love. When the provider makes clear that there's no real relationship or love involved, the guy becomes angry and decides to get revenge on the provider by harassing her.
