Police say house is brothel
Suspects face prostitution counts

Police stumbled upon what they said was a brothel on Wake Forest Road while investigating a fishy Saturday night shooting.
Officers hauled in two women whom they charged with prostitution and two men who police said were pimping them out in the modest home with white siding. Four men accused of paying the women for sex also landed in jail.

It all started when a passing driver called police to report a car full of men stranded with a flat tire near the Beltline at the Wake Forest Road exit, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

The driver had hit a curb and damaged his tire while rushing a friend to the hospital.

Jose Delcid, 22, had a bullet in his thigh. He'd been shot inside the car, his friends told police. But there wasn't a gun to be found and no damage inside the car. Police grew suspicious.

Shortly after that, emergency dispatchers fielded a call from a man complaining he'd been robbed. Gamaliel Andres Tejeda, 24, told police that a gang of eight to 10 men roughed him up and stole his money in a house at 2027 Wake Forest Road.

Police guessed the two incidents were connected and headed to the scene of the crime.

Once there, police said they stumbled upon a house of ill-repute in full Saturday night swing.

The brothel had been hit earlier in the night by band of men brandishing a gun and demanding money from patrons, police said. That's when Delcid got shot, police said. His friends told police he'd been tied up by the robbers.

Several are charged

Officers arrested two women, Liliana Morales Martinez, 31, and Maribel Abenbona Corana, 22, on charges of prostitution. Police arrested Santiago Navarro Arriago, 26, and Rafael Martinez Crus, 28, on charges of maintaining a dwelling for purposes of prostitution.

Police arrested the stranded motorists -- Franklin Roblero-Roblero, 26, of Cary; Jorge Montoya, 23, address unknown; and Rigoberto Tilo-Chikin, 21 of Raleigh -- and charged them with soliciting prostitutes.

Police also tacked on a charge of resisting, obstructing and delaying police in their investigation because they said the men lied about their friend's gunshot wound.

Tejeda, of Raleigh, the robbery victim who called police, landed in jail, too. He faces a charge for solliciting sex.

Delcid was still in the hospital recovering.

The owners of the home could not be reached for comment Sunday.

On Sunday night, a dim light flickered from the front room of the house; no one answered the door. Crime scene tape blocked the driveway, and dogs yapped from the back yard.

We were visiting my brother in law in Garner last night, and we told him we were looking for a place to rent. He told us about a house on Brag St., but said we would not want that because because it is crack alley. On the way back to Durham around 11:30p I decided to have a look. We saw approximately six or so BSW between Blount St. and Garner Rd., and we saw one WSW just east of Garner Rd. Yeah, that's the area Somedude. But Raleigh PD have a fairly tight grip on city street walkers.

With the street scene the way it is, the next way of getting a score is using various escort services.

I tried one advertised in the Independent. It seems a LOT of people are rounding up 3-5 girls and making a escort service. I don't like them cuz it takes a measure of control out of your hands, plus it is way more expensive.

But I tried one a while back cuz I thought it was a independant college girl. Turned out she wasn't independant but it was all good still. And yes, the hotel we went to was near Crabtree Valley Mall, the Hampton I think.

It appears several $250 to $300 an hour out of town escorts are taking up part time working residents in Raleigh. They seem to settling in the Crabtree Valley area at various hotels. The lady chief is doing a fine job in the city. If you look at crime statistic charts of when her new district program went live, you'd see a huge decline in almost all areas of crime. And crime is still declining. So we do live in a safer city, but unfortunately, that means for folks in this profession, street walkers will be harder and more dangerous to find. It's not impossible tho. I don't cruise very often anymore but manage to see a few out when I do.

An amusing thing happened a long while back. I was chilling in my spot while getting a bj, and two cops rolled up at the entrance. I was way in the back and saw them but they didn't see me. When I first arrived, I noticed several cops nearby cuz of a accident so I think they just happened to come to my spot to talk in private. So anyway, I didn't have much choice in my predicament. I could stay there and hope the UC and the blue and white unit wouldn't see me and they'd leave when they was done, I could leave my car and go to the nearby store, or go ahead and drive out. Since the first two options would of been bad news if I was spotted, I thought I better go to them on my terms since I wouldn't of been 'caught.' I probably surprised them when my headlights turned on right in their faces, and of course they had to follow me a mile or so, but they pussied out and turned around. But damm, that would of been the worse luck ever to be busted at a spot by some pigs who just by chance, pulled into your area to talk.

What the hell is up in Raleigh, the action is about as dry as a 80 year olds twat. I went out cruzin to all the regular haunts Friday night and found nada, zippo in a three hour period.

I then gave up as gas is still expensive :-), and decided to try again on Saturday in the daytime just in case they are scared of the dark, again nothing but one 80 year old that even somedude would not touch .

Anybody have any information as to what is happening here ? Is Jane the top cop winning here ? I hope not
