Posts: 84Are there any sleazy bars in Eugene?
Bars where one can meet sleazy women, or better yet, actual working girls? I'm generally not into scooping street meat, mainly because of the substantial LE risk, and their generally shitty and undesirable appearance and service due to dragon chasing and other miserable addictions.
But are there any bars in Eugene, where some nice sleazy hos hang out, where one can just chat them up, strike a deal, and then take them back to one's hotel room?

True about Springfield. Used to be some years back that action was often found the downtown area. But that all dried up with the cleanup / revitalization of the business / retail core.

Had some free time this past week and for old time's sake cruised the traditional SW strolling areas west from downtown and out ninety-nine. Nothing. A couple of attractive 20-somethings, but civies who were clearly marching from point A to point B—no eye contact with traffic. Saturday about 6 pm saw a sexy blonde, 20's, bare-chested. Was wearing short-shorts and small backpack. Made a few passes to assess the situation. She was on her phone the entire time—looked like she was taking selfies. Slowly rambled for about 2 blocks on Seventh. Did not engage with passing traffic (didn't see anyone stop, either.) Some dude on bike apparently with her, staying about 20 yards behind her. Was this a dare? A social experiment on her part? Pics and video to upload to porn site? She (and him) quickly vanished—presumably into one of the motels or apartment complexes. Was at least some eye-candy for what turned out to be an otherwise dead Saturday night.
As stated in post from a year ago, the SW scene in Eugene, while never that big to begin with, basically dried up a few years ago. People living on the streets in just about every nook and cranny has certainly played a role in discouraging strolling, though the biggest single reason is probably online advertising.

Posts: 53All Quiet On The SW Scene?
This thread has been pretty quiet for quite some time. Regardless of the level of interest here, I've decided to post an updated report, or, perhaps more precisely, a "non-report" report.
My recons this week in Eugene have turned up nothing. I cruised the areas that have been traditional SW territory--mostly W. 6th & 7th from downtown (Washington / Jefferson interchange) to out past Chambers, but also Hwy 99 from Roosevelt to Barger Rd. I thought I might spot at least one or two gals, but no, nada. What is noticeable is the very high population of street people. This area has long been a bastion for the homeless, but the situation is really out of control. Frankly, to witness the number of people on the streets that are clearly mentally ill or otherwise severely messed up is quite depressing. (Yesterday I watched as a woman--talking to herself or to an imaginary someone--carefully sorted a handful of letters before selectively and carefully depositing them into the street sewer grate.) I theorize that the growing chronically unhoused, deranged, and substance-addicted have infringed on the turf that has been occupied by the occasional (and at least semi-attractive and functioning) SW in years past. But this phenomenon of the evaporating SW scene has been in motion for quite some time. Also more of a LE presence. I seem to recall some anti-trafficking efforts a few years ago, too, that likely dissuaded ladies from working the pavement. And it seems like a no-braner that the incentive to hit the streets is greatly diminished with the ability to advertise online. A couple of years ago I'd periodically see this one SW near the porn shop, but now it appears she advertises her wares on one of the hobbyist websites exclusively. I'm sure she isn't alone.
Downtown Springfield was once a place to find SWs, but no longer. The shady bars and strip clubs have mostly disappeared. The influx of new, family-friendly businesses have revitalized downtown. The seediness is long gone.
Admittedly, I cruise these areas only rarely. It had been months since my thorough recons of this week. Despite what looks like dim (and grim) prospects for Eugene, I acknowledge that some semblance of a SW scene may in fact still exist and that I just haven't witnessed it with my own eyes. If anyone has a more positive report they wish to share, then please do so! After all, mine is just one experience.

Saw this redhead SW strolling down 99 at around 2 PM today. 40's in the face but 20's in the body look kinda cracked out but definitely looked like she would do a $50 pump and dump.

Really sort of shocked to not see any posts from this more liberal college town. It is true that you need to get away from campuses to find the SW spots like the outter streets off 11th. Come on folk, Eugene cannot be limited to AMPs and BackPagers.
