I read the highlights of this bill and have mixed thoughts. While is is draconian, it his some merit. Before I am pounced on, it's focusing on human trafficking. I do know factually that Michigan, yes Michigan, is a major hub for human trafficking. Deadly and enough to turn one's stomach even for mongers. Too many children are being kidnapped, sold, severely abused and held "eliminated". I can't imagine, hope, none of you readers engage in the game where there are pimps involved, go to the girl's hotel. This isn't about sex, it's about protecting the lives of children. Fuck a grannie!

It will be legal to sell sex, but illegal to purchase. Jail time is to be 5 to 10 years in prison. They have become even more crazy than the US. You trip to Windsor in the near future will get you banded from Canada, big Jail time and on every list known to man.

At this rate, we may all find ourselves making day trips across the border to Windsor to avoid the risk of ending up on that list. Which is not life changing, but life destroying. Especially since you are now put into the same class as pedophiles and rapists.

It might not be a law yet but it could get passed. Getting on that list for professional workers is like the kiss of death if you ever have to go job hunting again not to mention one of your neighbors will surely point out to your community that you are on the sex offender list. This is just the type of stupid law that would get passed to appease the self righteous and do more harm then good. We should all contact our representatives to make sure it doesn't pass.

Remember that a lot of the laws that were put on AMPs that came down under the Granmole administration, like the Certified Massage Therapist requirement. This is just push back from people in neighborhoods and LE with cash flow issues looking to pad their wallets since they can attempt to "steal" your car if you are caught with an SP in your vehicle on a pickup. Just remember that those who govern aren't interested in protecting their constituents, but are more interested in keeping power and making themselves look good in the process while trampling your constitutional rights. Tea party people and libertarians are mainly interested in keeping government OUT of your life as much as they can and restrict their control over you.

BTW, that is not even law, yet. ON THE OTHER HAND. If you entice a chick in a bar to go home and get laid, you could be subject to this law, which IS on the books AND will put you on the sex offenders list.

The statute, Michigan Penal Code § 750.532, provides,
Any man who shall seduce and debauch any unmarried woman shall be guilty of a felony, punishable by imprisonment in the state prison not more than 5 years or by fine of not more than 2,500 dollars ….

Gotta love it, eh? Even when you try to get it for free, in Michigan a "scorned" woman can still get your ass thrown in jail for consensual sex.
