When it is all boiled-down, herpes is largely an inconsequential, harmless skin disease. Half if the US population is positive for HSV-1 and about 16% for 2. BTW, the commercial testing outfits can be very expensive - $several hundred. Planned Parenthood and county health departments are much more reasonable.
