He "promoted" energy projects on federal land. He approved infrastructure investments including Keystone XL. Doesn't carry oil and gas yet but things would only get better when it does. He also deregulated the industry making it easier to do businesses. He bailed out of the paris climate agreement. We were net exporters of oil during his presidency. I disagree. Biden killed the pipeline and gas went up, if he were to turn it back on gas would come down. The more oil that comes out of the ground the cheaper gas is. Things were cheaper when we were energy independent.

Why would oil companies drill more oil to lower prices? They would have to spend a ton of money to ramp up production and there is a lag. In 6 months to a year from now when that increased production comes online, maybe oil prices have come back down. The right thing to do as a business is to just keep pumping the same amount and count your money.

Actually it doesn't quite work that way in a global market. US producers sell globally. So keystone oil would simply be bid up and sold to Europe, China, Michigan or whoever bids the most.

Now if the US put a legal stop on exports, and throws Europe into an oil shortage crisis, then. All hell breaks lose, and Russia wins again.
