Entertainment vs real competition?

Thinking that the NFL is fixed is always in the back of my mind (and probably all you gamblers out there too). So it's funny that you mentioned Flacco, who was at the center of that storybook ending season too. Could this be NFL Fairytale the sequel?

Evidence of cheating unlikely to be proven in the world of sports gambling (not only football; ALL sports on the books). There was once a segment on 60 Minutes about this subject: one pro offensive lineman was caught on film pointing to the flow of play (in his stance). Nobody when pursue or prove nothing; not enough to pursue or prove. Closest you going get to having one chance to win is often "slim and none;" watching the opening odds and line movement thereafter, if any, would be one unguaranteed way to take one calculated risk. Entertainment and Fairytale, IMO.

But what really made me believe it was true was when Ray Lewis announced he was retiring at the end of the season. His announcement seemed to pave the way for the Baltimore Ravens straight to the Super Bowl. They weren't looking too good and only had a slim chance of making the Super Bowl, but all of a sudden started winning games that they shouldn't have, got the wild card, and kept winning games they shouldn't have, all the way to the Super Bowl. What a storybook ending for Ray Lewis. But it sure looked fixed to me (and my bankroll) because I bet against them every step of the way!

BeaverLiquor that's the one! It was talked shortly on ESPN, the PMS, and a few YouTube shorts. But I agree also that the NFL can be scripted at times. I am not a big conspiracy theories person, but if there is a trend I will acknowledge the possibility.

Also, I agree. The old Joe Flacco reaching the SB one more time would be a cool story. I give that guy credit.

After seeing your comment I had to find what the Super Bowl logo looked like. Here's what I found.

BeaverLiquor that's the one! It was talked shortly on ESPN, the PMS, and a few YouTube shorts. But I agree also that the NFL can be scripted at times. I am not a big conspiracy theories person, but if there is a trend I will acknowledge the possibility.

Ravens vs 49 ers.

There is a conspiracy that the SB logo colors predicts the actual SB teams. It's been accurate for the past 3 SB. So I am going with it.

But deep inside I wouldn't be mad if the Bills or the Lions make it in. Those fans deserve a SB appearance. Sorry Dallas fans, I have lost to much money on the Cowboys in the playoff's, I have trust issues. But, this is the best situation for the Cowboys to prove me wrong and make it into the SB.

The $$$ is probably reality as you described (in amateur sports) nowadays. But you and your guys got it right, IMO: keep things friendly amongst friends, have fun, and no try make sense of the uncontrollable (as well as others' opinions). In fact, I stay more concerned about doing my taxes than the transfer portal moves of some kids, LOL.

FSU had a great season, that is why you play the game and in the next phase of the playoffs, my friends and I have always enjoyed creating our own playoffs, seating all the teams in Round 1 and then a reseed (and left alone) to see how the last 12 years would have played out. A good thought was also made by a couple of us, to fulfill your NIL, you would need to fulfill your obligations to the team, teammates, and school to receive the rest (100%) of your NIL $$ Part of doing business with your athletics, it is a business and it should be treated as such. Part of it turning into a pay-for-play league and holding these very young adults probably more $$$ than they would ever receive if they do not hit the end goal of the NFL.

You are exactly right 14 starters opted out for Florida St but I guess he forgot or didn't know that and also even Georgia Coach Smart said they need to fix these opting out of bowl games.

Since you want to make this a big deal google why didn't Florida State make the playoffs and it will say by the committee chair because there qb Travis got injured and there are not the same without him so by that you are wrong unless you can also show me that someone on the committee say they were not chosen because of strength of schedule.

Since you want to bring this up after the game instead of before go back and look it was said if Florida State had there starting QB they would have gotten in and that is fact. Its easy to talk after the game is done but I did say if Georgia won there would be no issue so not sure why you making it a big deal.
