I can't really speak to the HX route, but I'm pretty sure there are a handful of sites that will allow you to book if you give them a bunch of personal information: (1) Name, Age, Race, (2) Picture of your drivers license, (3) a Selfie with your license / today's date, and (4) some ask for proof of employment and salary. Its definitely a bit nerve wracking to be providing that much personal information, but for what its worth, I haven't had any major issues. I also figure I could also just change my driver license I'd if worse comes to worse.

I will be visiting LA for a very short window at the end of March. I will only have two days where I am available for extracurricular activities.
