Most of the coffee shops will allow outside food. Takes a little planning, but you can pickup sandwiches and egg rolls and have lunch while enjoying the view. Or have food delivered.

Thanks for the suggestion but doesn't resolve the smoking issue. I used to be a smoker, but since I quit, about ten years ago I've become hypersensitive to smoke. Not to mention several friends and associates have died of lung cancer. I don't understand how these coffee shops get away with the smoking in CA. I thought there was a law against smoking indoors unless you're on Indian land.

I fantasize all the way! I'd heard and read so much about these OC Vietnamese coffee shops, but when I finally checked out a few of the more popular ones, I was immediately turned off by the excessive fucking smokers! I like most of your ideas, but why not have a full menu?! I love Vietnamese food! Bahn mi's, pho, their pastries and colorful deserts. Beautiful young scantily clad gals and a strong cup of sweet Vietnamese coffee! I'd be there every fucking day for breakfast, lunch and dinner! There are some bars in Chicago and Vegas that have a similar theme. Basically a full bar with stunning provocatively dressed gals that drink and eat with the customers. I forgot the name of the bars, but one was close to the Chicago stock exchange where the gals are used to getting $100 tips for a drink, bar chips and a wink! I'll never forget giving what I thought was a very generous tip to the sexy bartender and she humiliated me by waving my $20 over her head and yelling woo woo sarcastically! Similar at some Vegas bars, but the gals aren't as snooty! But I digress. Let us know when you open your Vietnamese coffee shop and I'll be your best customer!

If I could pick 1 cafe to manage, it would be Girlz. Not that Rachel isn't an excellent owner, (because I do think she is great), but IF I could manage it, I would stop all smoking! I know too many men, that I have spoken with, that will no longer go to these places just because of that. For whatever reason, (Smell, Breathing, Fallout, Health and so on.) The age of the men are older, so it does have merit. We have money. Second, I would, indeed, continue the sexy and provocative dresscode. It is why we are there, correct? No need to reinvent the entire wheel. I like the themes Rachel and the girls come up with, as well. It makes it fun. Also, I would add a very few select food items. Not much. It just doesn't work for me if I can't get a bite. And, lastly, I might install, on one wall, a row of curtains at each booth. 3 or 4. Create a group party booth. Use would add a fee of some type, but the girls could sit with a bit more privacy. The curtains can be sheer and placed between booths, as well as tied back in the front, so as not to actually close off. Again, just a sense of exclusivity and privacy.

What I imagine is a totally different clientele. Not snobby or better, just catering to a different customer. If I want to come in for eye candy. Great! But, I don't want smoke! I would like something to munch on! I would like to sit with a little more privacy! And, I want my Eye-Candy to rock to provocative.

Stopped by 368 late on Thursday with a friend from out of town. Never been before and thought it'd be fun. Not much going on there, but we grabbed a table and spent an hour or so there talking to Donna who was super cute and friendly. From my understanding, these places are "look, but don't touch" right? They don't offer any extras or a private dance or anything right? Just drinks and beautiful girls. Still a win I guess. I may stop by with my laptop and just do work for an hour! LOL.

I wish they offer extras, In Vietnam coffee blow job shops exist right??

Cat Tuong on Harbor was pretty great for a couple years. Cool original owners and tons of hot 20 year old girls. A very chill low key spot. Not crazy crowded, or packed with smokers.

Then some weirdos took over and made a big mess out of it. So now it's toast. Sign on the building has come down.

Interesting you said that. I've mentioned in other posts I had a long time friend who worked coffee shops for years (in fact she worked at CAT). When I talked to her about a non-smoking place, she did mention that some places are just a front for a tax dodge. Open a place for few years, lose a bunch of money, take a deduction, and run with all the cash that you never declared to the IRS in the first place. I could do that with a non-smoking place that fails after two years. LOL

Also, the mention of the nasty ass bathrooms. I don't get it either. There are so many people in this county you can pay to clean toilets once a night for pennies. Plus, you know the owners don't keep their personal bathrooms at home this way, I'm so surprised they tolerate it.

Yep, I totally agree. When income drops, the first thing to go is the bathroom services and then the number of DirectTV boxes. At Girlz, I've seen them clean the bathrooms several times a day. When visiting other places, I normally go to dinner before. I use the bathroom there and take paper towels from their bathroom. If I have to take a crap, I'm going home.

HD Quan on Brookhurst is a clean place. Also, Di Vang 2 over by Starz is pretty clean. You can use the restroom without getting Ebola. Lol

That's the only reason why I've never, ever been to a Viet Cafe, the smoke! I despise smoking, I don't want to get lung cancer from second-hand smoke! I want to see these beautiful gals (and their attire!) so much but smoke on my clothes, then in my car, and it lingers, how do you explain it to your SO or wife?! I read your guys' cafe reports hoping to read that there's a cafe that's smoke-free! Curious, I thought restaurants / cafes in SoCal banned smoking.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who hates the smoke. I go, but I still hate the smoke, and usually only stay 20-30 min. I can't stay and watch a game anymore. I used to be really close to a girl who knew the coffee shop world really well. I once told her I wanted to open a coffee shop where NO SMOKING would be enforced. She said we wouldn't get customers. Well, I lived in the UK when they stopped smoking in the pubs, and they said the same thing, and it turned out not to be true. There was a new class of customers that showed up in the pubs. But, anyway, if I ever did open up one, I figured it would be good to find a location with an outside garden like we used to see at M Cutie. Plus, if you get gambling machines, some customers will show up for that.

I agree. Lu is losing customers to other cafe shops. I was there yesterday around 5 pm and there were only 2 tables. They have 6 girls working but all of them hanging out at 1 table. The girls are hot but no show to attract horny men. I think they will close soon.

Yeah but after Lu you didn't hafta hose yourself down in the front yard while you pretended to "wash the dog". Cause less smoking, LOL.

Lu on Harbor has less smoking than the other places. Lu has boring girls working day shifts though.

Original digits has better daytime girls. They cut way back on the number of chubby single moms and chicks turning themselves into bodybuilders, Lol. They actually have some normal looking Asian girls again.
