Just out of shear curiosity would you be willing to give us a quick bit of details on one or two of these?

As FrackinCylons said, it can be common. I once had a real stalker, and had to go to family court to get a restraining order. So, I'm careful (ish) these days. I start with a burner number / email, and we meet at hotels. Eventually, they do come to my place, but hopefully by then I've weeded out the craziest ones. Anyone who's come to my place, I've learned to let down slowly. Usually with some small severance $.

Usually it manifests as:

- Calling / texting a lot from the start, asking where I've been and why I didn't answer sooner.

- The subtler ones start to make jokes about putting cameras up in my place, or make references to moving her stuff in or to when we're married in the future.
