I've followed this discussion for some time now and need to contribute. Past few trips I've met a couple of sb. IMHO, the best advantage is time. If you work it right a sb will stay the entire night and won't say no to 3rds. 4ths, etc. Plus, you know what you're getting. Everything is arranged before hand so there are no surprises. It depends upon what you mean by "limited funds". Give me the numbers from your LA experience and we will figure out what went wrong. I mean this with no disrespect.
