I would say your instincts are correct as the profile is now gone. Providers monitor this site and I would guess true SBs are less likely to.

Someone text me from the number 802-768-1787 (Vermont area code), saying I slept with their ex GF and paid them for it, which I've never done from that site, I've met a couple people for drinks and that was the extent of it trying to offer me a "deal" or they would blow the whistle, sounds like a complete scam from the start right? Has anyone else encountered this at all? I responded that extortion is a felony is every US state and I would be happy to take this to a police friend to track them down, no response.

That was a scam. I got the exact same message only it was from a Dayton Oh area code. I'm not sure which profile it was from though.

Get scammer message your reply, You got the wrong person I just got this number from metro today the other person must have changed their number, please don't call or text me again or you will be blocked.

Thank you for the advice, definitely getting that app, not using my own number again for texting these girls, broke a cardinal rule, I've actually only met 3 girls from that site and it was just for friendly drinks, let my guard down on the scamming aspect of it.

Just keep a record of the messages they send you for proof against extortion and block them, Use text now app you can change numbers every 15 days or even get a new number using a new email address which is very helpful for Sa. Its usually a boyfriend that finds out about his girls extra activities and gets mad they don't go the cops because their girl would also be involved and know they went through their phone.
