Someone mentioned to me that he wanted to be a Sugar Daddy, but didn't really know where to look or what to look for, so, I wanted to take a few minutes and craft up a guide to those who are interested in this aspect of the lifestyle.

The first thing that you'll really need to look at is the amount of money that you're willing to spend. My general rule of thumb is between 10-20% of your take home pay. I'm a firm believer of two things: 1.) A SugarDaddy isn't a replacement for a job, and 2.) that your ideal SB is going to get a mixture of cash and gifts from you. Let's say you're making 200 K / year, and after Uncle Sam and everyone else gets their cut, you're bringing home $150 K. When you break that down, your SB "Allowance" is 22 K / year (or $1875/ month). I then try to take it a step further and try to split it 60/40 cash / expenses.

I try to avoid monthly arrangements -- it's risky for both you as well as the girl. I've also hit Paypal's Anti Money Laundering (and my Bank's own AML) list twice in the last two months; if I were to do a new sugarbaby it would be on a prepaid debit card that's in her name, and I'd just remotely load it from cash. Paypal will 1099-K you if you're depositing more than 10 K a year in their accounts, and I've been audited before from my SugarBaby 'donations' and it just turned into a headache (for both me as well as the girl).

SugarBabies are generally bad with managing their money -- it's ok to get them the occasional fancy gift, but, it makes much more sense to be practical. In the last year, I've bought laptops for school, car repairs, shoes, gift certificates to Express, and flowers for when they're having a bad day. Ultimately, you'll need to figure out what you're really looking for in a girl. If you're just looking for sex, get an escort (seriously, guys, isn't that why most of us are here?
