Sorry to have so little good information. As I said, it was years ago. Maybe 15 years. I wasn't driving or paying attention where we went. My friend drove, and all I remember is, the place was in a working class / industrial neighborhood on the outskirts of DTLA.

Many years ago, I went to a LatinX bar near downtown LA with an LA legend who used to run a strip club website, who was tapped into everything happening in the LA underground. He'd heard about this place as a "regular bar," where you could go, get a beer, hang out, and be approached by girls who might or might not make you offers. Neither of us are LatinX, so we didn't know what to expect. We walked in, the place was packed with mostly men, and cute girls in short dresses hanging out with them, going from table to table. The bar was so loud and noisy! We waited for the bartender to pay attention to us. Little by little, the bar started to clear out. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting, we realized everyone else had left except for two guys playing pool. The bartender finally came over to us, took a long, slow look around the bar, and asked, in perfect English and with an odd smile, "Can I get you guys a drink?

We said no thanks, got up, and left.

So how do I get past that? Because I know the same thing will happen to me LOL. I mean I can pass for Hispanic since I'm Hispanic but my Spanish is bad LOL.

Has anyone stepped into "Empire Showgirls" on SFR in Sunland? The building has been a latino nightclub forever. The usual dance hall and live music type nightclub. Not too long ago it evolved into this new nightclub. Virtually nothing to shed any light on it on the internet. I presume that it is a bikini bar similar to Alameda Strip near downtown L.A., but other indications are that it is pretty much the way it was before giving itself the provocative new name.



For sure! That is exactly the experience I've had the last couple of times I tried to chill in a ficha bar where nobody knew me. Once a guy was kind enough to buy me a beer, and then explicitly let me in on the fact that many of the chicas and others in the bar thought I was "narco". I guess this dude was smart enough to know better but wanted to feel me out. I stopped going following that revelation but always eager to hear about what's out there.

I have not experienced anything extra in these bars. There are however a lot of girls just hanging around in the bar looking for guys to buy them $6 beers and $11 shots of tequila. Every time I walked into these places everyone looks at me like I'm the Cops. They just stare and watch every move I make. I stopped going because they make me feel like I should not be in the bar. The College Inn in Northridge on Lindley Ave has the better looking girls. All the others I've been to the women are hideous.

I would also like to hear of any success stories.

So how do you get your fix now? Tijuana is too far. Clasificado girls are good but its hit or miss and sometimes getting ugly girls and passing leads to unwanted disputes. Streetwalking is scary with LE left and right. I'm getting frustrated haha. I went to a fichera / strip club in DT LA. Can't remember the name, but a bit run down. I would talk, get numbers and then meet up for. 4 at their place or motels.

Yeah there are a few that I've seen. But new they are? I don't know. But there is the college Inn on Lindley and parthinea, club Reseda on saticoy and Reseda, El gallero Winnetka and lassen, El dos oros on Sepulveda and roscoe. I've never been but you might get lucky.

You are a caballero after my own corazon! I frequented a great one years ago very near the location you describe. SFR a mile north of Buena Vista. But that place is gone and very missed. Great action on weekend nights and a small brigade of non-pro or semi-pro chicas would show up, change into lingerie, circulate doing $1 lap dances, and were ready to go to a nearby hotel. Cumbia on the juke and strolling mariachis would come in and play. Very friendly crowd but as an older white guy, I was the subject of suspicion and fascination which worked both ways. The place was way out of the way and in nobody's face, but LE eventually broke it down.

Years later I had a source of intel on bars mostly in the shadiest corners of south L. A. Shade when the sun goes down. I will walk into any cholo bar in Tijuana, but these spots in LA were past my boundaries. Not to mention stories of angry home boys ready to blow when they see their "novia" fichera getting attention. Have digested an array of intel about other areas around town where you might find ficheras. Mexicanas and central americans, but I have not explored.

Would greatly appreciate it if you will PM me if you discover anything hot and reasonably safe. I will say LA is a safer place now than it was in the years I was actively looking for ficha bars.

5 day weekend next week in Tijuana so I'll spend a couple of dozen hours in a dozen ficha bars down there trying not to get ficha fucked!
