If you're traveling out of the country much I'd definitely recommend finding a bank that doesn't charge international ATM fees on their debit cards (a lot of banks charge a 1-3% fee for international withdrawals). There's a few options out there, but it's worth it for the convenience and not having to get screwed by fees at a currency exchange or ATM.

I used to go to a currency exchange place, but they've been out of the way and always a wait. Now I just hit a ATM after I cross the border and get to the action. I've never experienced excessive fees. I'm sure some agencies and AMPs would take a credit card. I just don't trust them enough to try.

Several ways to accomplish this (and the last / least way would be pay by CC).

You can convert your USD at yours (or any othe US bank) into CAD and the exchange would be whatever their 'money desk' has posted.

You can hit the duty-free shop at the border (I did this yesterday) and my $150 became $190 so about a 79% exchange rate.

You can use a Canadian ATM and accept the $3 fee, their exchange rate and whatever your bank charges for an out-of-country transaction.

You can pay w / CC but are going to be hit with a GST of about 10% on top of the actual cost.

I usually opt for #2.

Sure the price point is great. But that's not all. Because it is decriminalized it attracts more providers. Therefore there's more competition which works in our favor. Then there's also less risk for mongers. The environment also makes for a more fun experience. The BC women I've experienced have mostly been way more playful and service oriented. I've yet to go thru an agency. I like going to the AMPs and getting the lineup. There's many areas where you can park and check out several storefronts all within walking distance. Some are all Asian, many have a mix of races.

From Seattle, Canada seems like a long-ass drive just to get slightly better rates and, I hope, a wider selection of providers. Still, the north beckons. And I'm sure it won't be too long before I make a trip across the border.

I've tried them, and I had a good experience. There are other agencies there like korean604, private paradise, daynightvip, foxy604, yumikolove, and more. *I check the reviews on azn747, which is in Chinese, but I use translator to get through.

Wondering where to go for a quick fix. I was in one area a couple years ago, not quite sure where exactly, but there were 5-6 all within walking distance. It was maybe 15-20 minutes from the border. Was great for having lots of ladies to choose from. One place was run by a fine looking black spinner who only did HE. All the other girls were white, Latina, and a couple other black. Out the back door and a 1 minute walk was an all Asian spot. I've driven all around trying to remember where I was but with no luck. Sorry I don't have any more details. Would love to find this area, and also other recommendations of places to check out.

I think you're describing the town of Langley (which is about 10 miles and of the border) and closer to the Lynden vs. I5 Blaine crossing. There are about a half-dozen spots within a 5 block radius that have many varieties from which to choose. Does that ring a bell?
