I don't know how some of you do it. You just pull up and pick them up like it's nothing.
[/QUOTE]It's because there is absolutely nothing illegal or wrong with picking up or giving a ride to anyone. Including a known streetwalker. I am a well informed citizen who knows his rights. For example, I have, on the rare occasion, been pulled over with the boys in blue asking me if I knew that I had picked up a known prostitute. I normally look at them and say, "really, I had no idea. She just looked like she needed a ride". After finding nothing from searching me and my car, (if they ask, I'll comply), we both go our separate ways. It is however illegal to proposition someone with an offer of cash in exchange for any sexual act. Once, I inadvertently picked up a girl right in front of a patrol car going by. And they kept driving. Never admit to the accusation that you were going to pay a girl for anything. Why? Because your intentions were to give a ride to girl who needed one, period. I've gone so far as to act indignant as the accusation! The best defense is often times a good offense. Something to the effect of; goodness gracious officer, don't you have any pride? Why are you chastising an otherwise good Samaritan for offering an otherwise needy person a ride? Can't someone simply help another person out anymore? Or When did it become illegal to help someone else out?
You do have to have a set of balls to pick up a walker, however if you do get in the weeds simply play it cool and stick to your story of only giving her a ride. Once you realize you are being pulled over you tell the girl clearly. I just offered you a ride. Nothing else!
