Thank for tips but i don't think i'm going to Vegas
for Thanksgiving. I also went to Jackson's internationalsexguide and read about Mexico. TJ and Monterrey really caught my eyes, I tho about fly/drive to Cali and cross the board to TJ then on my way back home I stop at Vegas but TJ seem to be dangerous. Monterrey, Mexico seem much safer.
Thank for all you guys feedback. i think it's either TJ or Monterrey for me.
Happy mongering,
i don't think i'm going to Vegas...i think it's either TJ or Monterrey for me.
Probably a sensible decision, since Las Vegas really isn't such a great budget traveller's destination nowadays. It's very good if you've got lots of cash to burn in high end resorts on some high priced tail, but doing the town on a budget is now an art form that takes a lot of time and local knowlege that the average working class vacationer probably doesn't have. The really affordable stuff generally is the same kind of SW trade that you see back home in Houston, with about the same price and quality and risks, and what makes sense for most tourists are the extremely good looking but quite spendy casino girls for a rare high priced fantasy experience.
But, if you want to ditch your loved ones again, or vice versa, on the next big American family holiday, you might consider Christmas in Vegas. Things get dirt cheap then just before they get very expensive in the build up to New Years eve, you can usually book a pretty nice room for something like twenty to forty bucks, and even some of those really good looking working girls in the casinos can become a better deal due to a temporary imbalance of supply and demand as they stream into town ahead of the huge New Years crowds. Also, I think the poor hookers look really cute shivering in their skimpy little Santa's helper outfits and the town looks so festive at night with the Xmas lights twinkling in the pawnshop windows.

We don't need no stinkin' badges!
From Adelitas go out the back door to and thru La Valentina to "The Alley" or just walk a half block south from Adelitas. The street is lined, shoulder to shoulder at some points. with SWs. Only problem with that is some are minors (a real big time no-no in Mexico), and you get hustled for the extras. 5 more for sin ropa, etc. - things like that. But it is fun to walk thru a dozen or so young and pretty chicas with all of them grabbing and tugging your shirtsleeve!
Revolucion is the main tourist trap strip.
DO NOT walk back to the pedestrian bridge at nite.
If you already found the International site then you'll have more than a fair share of good info available to you concerning your safety, cash on hand, Policia & banditos (sometimes they're the same thing), etc.
I have a few maps if needed.

Starting at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific) time today (Tuesday-8/1) Court TV is running a 1998 Cops episode described in my satellite listing as follows: "Las Vegas - Vice Squad Special Edition: In Las Vegas, undercover officers target prostitution."
Actually, it appears to be the kickoff of a veritable Cops in Vegas festival today, as this begins a two hour block of Cops with three more Las Vegas episodes (circa 1997) following the vice special. All the Metro khaki you can eat, come and get it. Court TV has the same episodes scheduled to air again tonight from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m.
