Legalization, and a few Questions
I think one of the things that we all will have to think about it what it would do to the business. What will legalizing prostitution do? How will the business structure of it work? Will it raise or drop prices? Will they have to have health insurance etc. Will it draw more providers from out of state? (note I believe in Quality not Quantity. Example Waikiki beach. While there are a lot of hotties out there there are a bunch of fuglies too that wear too little. But to each their own.) Will it draw more John's from out of state? It will increase the states income through taxes. Also the required tests will increase the need for doctors or atleast medical assistants.
Prostitution has been in Hawaii far longer than I've been alive. That's not going to change, so why not make it legal and let the govenment get something out of it. (tax etc.)
If legalized, will get rid of the pimps?
Again I don't see any coorilation between child prostitution and legalization. The only thing that I can think of is that the legalization would be some type of "entry crime", like how pakalolo is some times considdered an "entry drug". (bs if you ask me) Will it increase or decrease crime in Hawaii?
On a side note. I would love to live an a world where socially women wouldn't be ashamed for working as a prostitute/sex worker. Would I want my daughter to be one? No, I would rather her be a doctor/dentest/lawyer/business woman. But would it be better than flipping burgars, being a waitress (who has to smile fakely in order to get tips and put up with tons of cr@p)?
Bottom line, will it help the women themselves or harm them?
Just some thoughts.
