Just A General Observation Of North vs. South.
I've been reading about other areas of this country on this board. I've read that in the Southern and Western areas, the Hobbyists seem to have Bad Providers. I think we're pretty lucky here in Chicago that for the most part, the Providers here are Great. Yeah I know there are a few bad ones. But overall we're lucky to have Great Providers here in Chicago. Your thought?
Depends on which provider you go with
I've been trying to rely on provider references but like I said I've been using BP. So anyone I've seen are either out of the business or do so much "living better through science" that I doubt that they remember what they had for breakfast, let alone the name of someone they saw for an hour a few months ago. Also, quality providers ask for references from "known providers". How well known is a BP girl?
Actually, I've known a couple of providers who are 'regular' on BP who aren't total flakes. That said, if you've had a few meets with a provider who's a regular advertiser on BP, just tell the one asking for 'references' who you've seen. Odds are she'll know who's 'in the business', so it'll be up to her to decide whether that's a 'good enough' reference or not. I kinda wonder if the ones who ask for references from fellow providers actually set down and call those who are given. Somehow, because they know the business, I doubt they would.
Rs2k doesn't automatically give you the green light
I want to graduate from the girls on BP to a higher class of provider. However most require one to be registered with a verification service. I have worked hard to keep my hobbying life completely separate from my real life. I guess that I'm ok with having some info on me as long as it's not available to anyone who asks for it. But the thing that really has me apprehensive is that the majority calls employers to verify. I don't work in an office and anyone who would need to call would just call my cell.
Any personal insight would be appreciated
I registered with rs2k in January and I still sometimes regret it because they have really personal info like a copy of my DL and work ID. The worst part is when I see a new provider that only does rs2k, I still have to show them my DL and work I'd and I paid fifty to register.
