Did anyone see the segment chanel 12 showed tonight about escorts wernt really trafficing? It showed how you find them on BP and I think it was Aspen on there talking. I hope it does no harm to the BP providers. But imo looks like every LEO around will be tryin to set them and us up now.

I think this was some positive spin myself. They showed the other of side of things that the public don't usually hear. She was talking about enjoying mutual companionship and she said that she enjoys it. I think it was a good piece.

I don't believe it's a huge deal, but I do not see any good news for us coming from this story.
For its part, Backpage.com has pointed to its cooperation with law enforcement and regular monitoring of the site for potential cases of human trafficking. A company attorney says the website is uniquely positioned to assist in such cases by gathering digital and financial clues about the perpetrators and by flagging suspicious ads.
"The aim of stopping the sex trafficking of minors, indeed the trafficking of any human being, is laudable," Liz McDougall, Backpage.com's attorney, said in an email. "However, identifying and vilifying a single USA Website (previously Craigslist, now Backpage.com) as the cause of the problem and the key to the solution are ill-founded and unproductive.".

I had just assumed previously that that "within 1. 5 miles of a school" applied to arresting people doing things in public view. SWers strolling or people dating in cars. So, they can slap that charge on someone who is inside a home or motel room, too? Beyond ridiculous.

"Oh, think of the children!" . Who are out of school for the summer.
Stupid puritanical laws. Same BS, different day.

That was one of the bs charges they stuck on me when I got busted a while back. The sting op went down at one of the nicer Ooltewah exit motels, and yes it happened to be less than 1. 5 miles from Ooltewah High. Fortunately the judge overlooked that part of the charge cause it was a first offense for me, or at least I think that was the reason. Your right though, it is WAY beyond ridicuous.
I think the law actually reads 11/2 from a school or church. You can't even sling a dead cast off the road around here without hitting one or the other!! My. 02. Gypsy.
