Turn signals, complete stops and seatbelts
These are all the important things! My friend hasn't been out for over a year and while cruising he did not come to a complete stop at a stop light before turning to the right as he was leaving an seedy area and was pulled over. No ticket (probably because he did make a complete stop) but was asked hundred an one questions. It will probably be a long time before my friend goes out again after having the shit scared out of him. Thankfully that his friend that he had picked up said that she felt like they were going to get pulled over so she jumped out, so no one was in the car with him.
Basically follow all traffic laws

Also, don't speed, and if a cop eyeballs you, don't make another pass by him. If you're circling around according to your normal pattern, adjust your pattern so you avoid passing that same cop again. Passing once, they may not think much. Passing twice, and they may get suspicious that you're up to something whether it be seeking a woman's company or buying or selling drugs.
