Minute Clinic visit may not "resolve issues".
Not sure if this is the right thread for this. And I apologize if this is old news, but thought I'd share.
Recently I made a trip to one of the minute clinics to actually get a real sinus infection cured. It's been a while since I visited one of these for any reason. The last visit I made about 3-4 years ago was for the old "I have sinus infection" so I could get the Z Pak as I was concerned about getting rid of a silent friend.
This visit I joked about getting a Z Pak as usual and was suprised that's not the treatment any more. Now it's amoxicillin with clavulanic acid. I got a little lesson on how research was done and the Z Pak wasn't effective as they thought against sinus infections, they're usually viral, blah, blah, blah. Good thing I didn't need a Z Pak this time.
Amoxicillin by itself is prescribed for a pregnant women who might have "social concerns" but supposedly isn't all that effective. But, from what little research I've done, amoxicillin with clavulanic acid looks to be more effective. How much more effective I don't know.
Now, if this is old news, what are the other avenuesny'all have come up with to secure a Z Pak that doesn't involve a trip to the doc and going on your medical record. ? For me the Canadien pharmacy route isn't an option.
