Wow, took a look at how my comment came out and looked pretty bad. I am glad the cop didn't die is what I was trying to say. We are in this little hobby not because we are bad people, but in the hobby because some just want the connection without the relationship sometimes. In the military I didn't have the time for the relationship and this was the perfect outlet. What I am saying is if you aren't say a teacher or politician, then I wouldn't wrap your head around this too much. The real criminal is currently behind bars, the one who shot the officer. I don't know how much of a client list they have but if it is just her contacts from her phone then these could be anyone. Especially if fake names were given. She is a reported drug user and was previously recommended by her uncle to be institutionalized for her mental issues. How likely is she to be credible? She could have made up clients out of thin air:/ just saying.

http://cryptome.org/isp-spy/cellular-spy3.pdf
Great information. Please keep in mind the entire call, text and email database from every service provider is kept forever by certain 3 letter US Intel agencies, which is really no worry to the average citizen unless you converse with certain bad guys, text or call certain numbers. Still another good reason to have alias identifications, masked IP addresses, throwaway phones, use public WiFi spots, etc. Don't make it easy on them. In this case, the Sheriff is simply going to cross check the phone numbers with a certain data base he has access to, get the names and addresses and see who he comes up with. You can bet there will be people embarrassed and perhaps investigated. Under Florida Sunshine Laws, it also becomes public domain for anyone to see.
Any suggestions for a throw away phone that has no monthly charge and is pay as you go. I keep finding ones that want a monthly fee. I was hoping someone that has one that works well for them could pass on the brand name & plan. Thanks.

You can get 90 days and 60 minutes of voice and text service for $20 (I. E. $80/ yr). Some plans give you 120 minutes and 90 days. The phone can be bought for as low as $15.

Of course, the purchase will also be recorded but if you're smart and pay cash, at worst, all they'll have is a fuzzy picture of who bought the phone / card, and nothing else. To be really safe, try to get someone else to buy them, stock up on cheap $5 phones and 90 day cards, then use a new one with a new number every 90 days.

Went to activate the phone and purchase minutes and WTF, they wanted my name, a credit card number and address. $25 down the drain. I will vette the above info out and get a real stealth phone somehow, maybe on CL. I surmise it will not be easy to be 100% protected with LE's technology.
You can buy at many Dollar type stores. Pay cash for phone and cards. No one will ever ask for your name unless you buy by credit card.
C3.

You can pay first month at 50 plan to get the deal offered first month and downgrade to 32 plan. Nets slow but works for browsing ads and other great thing is no one knows what my wifis doing at the hotel or wherever I am. I phones and using others wifi all real traceable. If you're super thrifty go to pawn shop and buy a used one. They may ask name though just to buy these but do nothin with the info. As far as address at metro I gave a pobox 3 cities away and no one verifies. Be safe.

C3.
To change numbers is 12 $ and a quick phone call to 800#. I do it every few mths to be safer. Metro charges 32 talk\talk with slow data. Fast only 65. These things are worth it in long run.
The Orlando Sentinel had a front page story today (Sunday) about the death of a young woman that occurred a year ago; she was a Lido's dancer. The young woman's family thinks this was a homicide and that another dancer has info. The family is upset with the way Cocoa Beach police are handling the investigation; CBPD are listing her death as a "hit and run" fatality. I thought this story would be of interest.
According to what I read and listening to Sheriff Ivy's Emergency (LOL) Press Conference called on a Sunday morning they went thru the providers phone records and ledgers and tied in two of his "Mental Giants" to her listing of clientele. Now, I am assuming they used their personal cell phones, WHY? Because they are LEOs and, well, they thought omnipotent but guess what?
Personally, unless caught in the act of solicitation there is no way these men can face anything. It is legal to call anyone. They need to take the 5th or deny involvement. First time offense if caught in a sting is a misdemeanor with a slap on the wrist. This Sheriff was pissed and is going for the juggler. Now, what if we really had an EMERGENCY in Brevard? I don't get it at times. A Press Conference called early Sunday because two of his men proportedly visited an Escort? OMG. Laughable.
From what I understand, both deputies have been dismissed (and will be prosecuted) because they admitted being a client of hers. For an officer to admit guilt instead of invoking his "right to remain silent" shows how incredibly stupid they are. I'm not an attorney and can't offer legal advice but I personally will never, ever, EVER under any circumstances answer questions from a police officer without an attorney. People seem to think being cooperative will persuade the cops to "go easy" on you but all your doing is making it easier for the police to arrest you or build a case against you. Everyone has a right to KEEP QUIET. Therefore NOT ADMITTING GUILT TO ANYTHING and have an attorney present. These cops will likely get arrested because they didn't keep their mouths shut. Don't make the same mistake they did.

Nope, there is absolutely zero reason why anyone should ever volunteer info about themselves. There is zero benefit in incriminating yourself. This happens to a very sad case with the Deputy almost getting killed but happily he survived. A can of worms has opened because of this so caution is advised in Brevard.
