The WSG Forum's Private Messaging System is a completely internal communications system that allows you to send and receive email-style messages with other Forum Members.

The Private Messaging System is perfectly suited for:

1. Contacting another Forum Member without cluttering up the Forum.
2. Sending a personal note, complement, congratulations, etc.
3. Exchanging private contact information between Forum Members.
4. Making arrangements to meet other Forum Members.
5. Organizing group events.

Yes. You must be logged in as a Regular or Senior Member to use the Private Message System.

The Private Message System and the Email Notification function, which sends you an anonmyous email notifying you when you have received a new Private Message, are currently activated for all Regular and Senior Forum Members, and are automatically activated for all new Regular Members.

To read, send or reply to your Private Messages, please select the "Private Messages" link at the top of the Forum's Table of Contents page.

Currently, Forum Members are limited to a maximum total of 100 Private Messages in their mailbox, including messages in their inbox and their stored messages. In addition, Private Messages are each limited to 3,000 characters in length.

To send a Private Message to another Forum Member, you may select the "New Message" button at the bottom of your message list, or you may simply select the "PM" button at the bottom of one of the Member's reports.

You can't. If they've turned their PM system off, then they don't want to receive Private Messages. That's it. End of game.

Add them to your Ignore List, as follows:

1. Log into the Forum.
2. Go to your User CP.
3. Select "Buddy / Ignore" lists.
4. Add them to your "Ignore List".

The Email Notification function sends you an email notifying you that you have received a new Private Message.

Email Notifications are sent anonmously to the email address in your membership profile.

The Email Notification function does not reveal your email address at any time.

You can review and/or modify the email address in your membership profile at any time by selecting the "User CP" link in the top menu bar.

Message Tracking give you the ability to ascertain if and when another Forum Member has received your Private Message.

The Buddy List is simply a list of your personal Private Message contacts. It is very similar to an email contacts list.

The Buddy List allows you to send Private Messages to several Forum Members (the ones on your Buddy List) at the same time.

This is useful for sending advisories to several members at one time, for organizing group events, etc.

1. Select the "User CP" link in the top menu bar.
2. Select the "Edit Your Buddy List" link in the top menu.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

You may elect to deactivate your Private Messaging system, or just the Email Notification function, at any time, as follows:

1. Selecting the "User CP" link in the top menu bar.
2. Select the "Change Your Options" link in the top menu bar.
3. Change your current settings as indicated.
4. Select the "Submit Modifications" button at the bottom of the screen.

On your Private Message list, select the messages that you wish to move, forward or delete, then use the Move, Forward or Delete buttons at the bottom of the list to effect the change.

Select the button labeled "Folders" at the bottom of your Private Message List.
