I have a method that approximates how Humaniplex calculates levels, and I thought I'd share it. Humaniplex assigns everyone a level from 0 to 5, based on calculating a point score for each person. HX takes the 200 or so people with the highest point scores and makes them level 5, the next 800 or so become level 4, and so on, with more people at each lower level.
There is no place where Humaniplex shows the point score that it has calculated for you, and you would need full computer access to their database and their exact formula to calculate it yourself. However, they have explained enough about how it works that I've come up with this simplified version of it that does pretty well.
As a first pass, look at the network of each person who has rated you safe, and take a look at how many people have rated each of them safe. For example, let's say you have 3 people in your network who have rated you safe, and they have been rated safe by 300,100, and 20 people, respectively. My method is not to simply add up these safety counts (which would give you 420 points). You have to look at each of them closely and may have to make an adjustment to convert each of these counts into points:
You get zero points for anyone in your network with a negative compliance score. They aren't helping you.
For anyone with zero compliance score, you get only half credit: Your points = 50% of their safety count.
Give yourself double points for anyone who has rated you "very highly safe". Your points = 2 x their safety count.
Subtract double points for anyone who has rated you "harmful". Your points = -2 x their safety count.
For everyone else who rated you, you get regular credit: Your points = their safety count.
Add up all these points, then make two final adjustments:
Take 10% off your total if your own compliance score is zero or negative.
Take 10% off your total if you are female.
So if the person with 300 safety ratings rated you "very highly safe", you get 600 points from her.
If the person with 100 safety ratings has a -1 compliance score, you get 0 points from her.
If the person with 20 safety ratings has a +2 compliance and rated you regularly safe, that's 20 points from her.
