Hi, all!

Unless you never scan the Pomona board, you are aware that one of the greats in our hobby, Misfit, has decided to retire from the hobby after something went down. He did not say what, so we can only assume, based on a cryptic message, that LEO hassled him based on the photos and he was "made" by one of them.

Basically one can surmise that he ticked someone off - I vented about it on the Pomona board and an incident that happened to me that had nothing to do with our hobby.

LEO doesn't want ANYONE taking stills or video of anything they don't approve of. It's just another example of the socialist path this country is starting to tread. Our freedoms are going to way of the dinosaur, and if we don't stand up for our rights, all our freedoms will disappear.

I'll start looking, but others of you need to pick up the ball and run with it as well. We need to ascertain what ordinances/laws are out there regarding photography and video. Then we need to figure out ways to continue what we do.

I have some ideas, but lets see some others work on this as well.

If you're talking about Misfit, he has been MIA for about 3 weeks now, just shortly after he posted pix of that sting operation on Holt in Pomona.

Gentlemen

It is not against the law to photograph what's going on in the streets. I don't know what happened to Misfit, but I can only say this to all of you, I would consider getting separate identities if you plan on both mongering and reporting, so that the two don't cross. Misfit frequently took photographs of girls, and then would comment on what happened when he picked them up. The problem with this is that a police officer who looked at his posts would be able to tell that he's not just someone taking photographs of the happenings on the street (nothing illegal about that), but rather took photographs and partook himself (the partaking part being illegal).

So, if you plan on taking photos of the goings on in the streets, I would wholeheartedly suggest that you don't also write confessions online as to your intentions of being out in the street. If you write about those intentions, then you are admitting that while you are out in the street, you are committing a violation of 11532, loitering with the intention of committing an act of prostitution. A misdemeanor. Get your login identity that talks about your exploits, and get one that you exhibit your photos with. Then, if you're caught trolling the streets by the police, you can pull out your camera and say "Hey, I'm a journalist, I take photographs and put them online showing what's going on in the streets regarding prostitution. Look, here are all most posts on the subject. " If they look online, all they'll see is a bunch of posts online by someone showing what the conditions on the streets are like. Nothing illegal about that!

My 2 cents.

My 2 cents.Except they can trace your ISP address. Two (or more) accounts with same address might be a "smoking gun", no?

Pretty sure they'd need a court order for that, and doubtful they'd pursue that avenue for buying a hooker. Plus, the servers are located outside the US. Lot of time, effort, and money to track down a misdemeanor. However, you just never know how far people will go, so never get cocky.

I have become very paranoid. Hell even the thought of this site being run by LE entered my mind a few times. Would that not be the ultimate tool for "big brother" to monitor us & use the info against us. Jackson claims the forum is owned by an South American corporation and the servers are located in Frankfurt, Germany & he would never turn over intel to LE. Who would pay that much money to keep a site running & not profit off it? Too many theories & not enough evidence I guess. Reason why I only trust a few people in here, only a handful of Senior's.

The site does profit, especially the International section where there is a fee to join. Plus, the site has advertisers.

Jackson is solid.

Yahoo was contacted and said that they would NEVER give up the ISP address or any identifying information about a customer without a specific order from a judge.

Based on that info - I think that unless it was about murder or kidnapping, LE would never be able to force the surrender of user information on here.

OK, mostly computer related, but whatever.

First of all, to preserve anonymity on a local level, I suggest using Firefox as your browser. It has a nifty feature called private browsing that keeps you safe from prying kids, significant others, even providers who might not take kindly to seeing that you spend time in certain places.

As for Internet anonymity, I have seen a program at Fry's here in CA that says it routes you through an anonymous server overseas. Don't know the name or the cost but for those of you that are worried about such things it might be worth a look-see.

Another thought is your actual connection. One way to solve this (although it's far pricier than other methods to get online) is a prepaid wireless modem. I chose Virgin Mobile for the same reasons I like their phones - reasonable price and great bang for the buck.

I can't say about other companies, but with Virgin the whole process can be done online, and you can give them whatever name and address you want. Just make sure the address actually exists. They don't do any actual checking but if the address doesn't exist their computer will glitch on them. So pick a name from the phone book and go from there. Try a minister...lol!

Same with phones as a backup, a hobby phone, or one you will give a provider. Obviously choose a females name for her. Make sure you write down the account PIN and voicemail PIN for her (or you if for your own use) so you can make changes is needed.

Wireless modems will show up as the wireless carrier ISP port. Another nice layer of distance.

Finally, although the pricing is awesome, forget about Cricket. Although they do not run a credit check, some stores want to see a Driver License or other official ID before setting you up. Add to that fairly SLOW speeds...OK if it's the only game in town.

If you do have a SLOW connection, try using Opera as your browser. It's free and has a Turbo function for slow connections.

Plenty of places have FREE Wi-Fi that you can use, again, their ISP if where a system would show the traffic originated.

Two other ideas: I have not confirmed it yet, but Boost Mobile has an Android Phone now, they also have a Blackberry prepaid. These could be useful as hobby phones if they can access this site, which I have not tried.

I haven't tried this yet, but since Opera is in Denmark (and they speed things up be using their servers to compress data) it might sheild your ISP. I will check it out when I get back home.

Stay safe, everyone!

I thought only American celebrities were stupid enough to be bringing cameras into the bedroom these days:
