High tech ones with GPS. Can get you within 2 feet. Some of the apps store lots of history of when the phone is and has been.
I. T. Guy I know also says these days with sync systems in cars that the blue tooth link to the phone will rat you out to the car within a half mile or so of the car.

Contrary to popular belief, a warrant is needed to track cell phones because only cellular providers have access to those records, and you have a reasonable expectation of privacy. There's no way, short of having a virus on your phone, for other people to track your phone. Some cellular providers have a service you can use to track a phone if it's in your name so you can keep track of your kids or whatever, but you can't really just track someone. GPS only goes from the phone to the GPS satellites and back to the phone, it doesn't go through a central server. The tracking works when the servers ask the phone where it is, the phone pings the GPS satellites, then tells the servers where it is.
You cannot access someone's phone or computer if they're turned off. It simply isn't possible. The residual power left in the phone after the battery dies isn't enough to run the processor, much less the GPS or antenna circuitry. It is only there to make sure the memory stays fresh. All this paranoia is dumb.
Now, that being said, with a warrant, the cellular provider will gladly hand over a list of your locations for a determined period of time. However, location data has not been used to incriminate someone in a crime unless there is other evidence. You can't simply say,"You were in this area at this time, therefore you were doing something illegal." It is simply used as evidence to narrow down the range of possibilities, and is more often used defensively instead of by prosecution.
You're orders of magnitude more likely to be busted in a sting operation or get snitched on than to have them do a full on investigation of you to determine if you picked someone up on the street at some point. Unless they end up dead, then you're going to end up found and in jail. They don't mess around for murder, but as for prostitution, it's pretty much the low hanging fruit they're after.

I'm dealing with this very issue because of a divorce. You can look at the privacy regulations on the providers website. While I'm putting my shoes on, I here her say "No. You don't have to get your gun" to someone outside (guessing it's the pimp again). I asked her for the donation back, and she says I don't have it. He does, pointing to the aforementioned guy.
So, stupidly, I walk over and say."I understand you're the guy with the money" and he says "Did you just walk up on me?" and I said "Yeah. I did".
Long story short. After about 10 minutes of very unsatisfying conversation during which he tells me that he hadn't gotten to properly screen me and it wasn't his fault that the young lady scheduled something improperly on HIS phone, and threatened to damage my car and post pics of me and my car, I finally left. Older and hopefully a little wiser, definitely poorer. His theory is that he "Offered a raincheck, so I shouldn't feel ripped off". Yeah, right.

I work in a customer service related industry (who doesn't, these days) , and given that another guy showed up and went in with Bella Che while I was still there points toward poor scheduling (at best) ; the fact that (per one of our local providers that I have no reason to disbelieve on this) at least 2 other local mongers were ripped off by this group on Wednesday points to a bigger problem. 1: Half down-half upon completion of agreed upon time. (show that you have the money, but keep it in your pocket until done). If the lady doesn't like the terms (and you should let them know the terms on the phone ahead of time) , then don't go. There are some fine, trusted ladies in the area, we don't need strange that bad.
2: Work out all pricing and potential upsells before handing over the first dollar. Let them know that any change or altering of what they offered will negate the deal.
3: Let them know that any phone calls either made or recieved will either reduce the amount owed or extend the time to cover time lost.
4: There is to be no "exiting" the room once the deal has been made.
5: No one else enters the room until you are gone.
6: Once deal has been made, poor service (in your opinion) , body odor, physical anomolies, etc, (or lack of ability to perform on your part) , does not relieve you of the requirement to pay the other half of donation. Sometimes you get steak and sometimes you get bologna. But this is a "grab bag" so you won't know until you get it. Cost is still the same. I read the reviews about her stinking and in no way did she stink other than like smoke. However, I would definitely say she is a roll of the dice and YMMV type. I don't doubt what others have said just not my experience.
