News reports of a bust in Portsmouth. The girl had been posting ads pretty heavily. Looking at the detail, I think what got her on the radar was drug dealing.

It's pretty stupid to make yourself look even more interesting to the police.

This was not smart. Believe the report said all 3 were doing and dealing drugs. Hope the $2 million NH wants to spend on drug courts helps them.

"The woman was also taken into custody for placing the advertisement on the website Backpage.com, police said. ".

Taken into custody for placing an advertisement? Anyone see the ad? Can't believe they can do that, or they'd be arresting all the BP posters.

She literally disappeared from town soon after and hasn't been heard from since. Several hobbyists had seen her prior to this incident, and she was beginning to look and act pretty ragged from chasing the dragon. I'm pretty sure she got a trip to rehab and no charges in exchange for her cooperation. Her FB account has also gone dead. She was an intelligent and caring woman; I hope she gets through recovery.

For what it's worth, the Iowa Girl has gone home and is posting on BP in Quad Cities.Yes, I saw that one. Cheryl seemed like a cool chick, but with big problems. She obviously cut a deal, so if you left a cell number or other traceable contact info, be aware. Be careful out there.

The Iowa Girl / Chrissy episode has scared the crap out of some of my friends here, and understandably so. If you have been in contact with Chrissy, your phone number, texts, or emails are now in the hands of the Keene Police Department and the New Hampshire Drug Task Force. If you used an anonymous or disposable email, or a monger phone, you are still not 100% safe. If there were big time crime involved, they would find you. Most of us are just fine if we take common sense precautions unless we're already being targeted in some other criminal investigation. But if a smart chick like Chrissy can get busted, anyone can.

LEO is going after these girls, primarily for one reason. Their connection to the drug trade industry. Almost all of them have a habit and some of them are not extraordinarily bright to begin with. Kicking the gong will numb anyone's judgement even further. When they're busted, any phone, text, or email contact you've had is going straight to LEO, whether or not they convict the girl of anything, or even charge her. You or I are likely not worth LEO's efforts to hunt down, but no matter how careful you've been, Big Brother can find you.

So my takeaway is this. NEVER, EVER, EVER discuss specific sexual requests or payment for services except Face to Face, and after all cop checks have been conducted. Using euphemisms like "roses" or "open your back door" won't stand up in court and won't get you off. Look at this poor guy from Keene. Even if he completes his sexual predator training (or whatever politically correct name it goes by), the guy is now jobless and registered as a sex offender, for offering to engage in sexual conduct with another adult. What a crazy world, but it's the world we all live in.

Let's be careful out there. Spending money for a girl who stiffs you by saying she didn't agree to perform any sexual services is a helluva lot less costly than what could happen if a text shows up where you offer "three hundred roses to open her back door".

I can not feel bad for the guy. Stupid is as stupid does. Who uses a work phone much less a Town owned work phone? What town employee uses a town owned phone and truck while on duty to monger? Only someone who deserves or wants to get to get caught.

"The woman was also taken into custody for placing the advertisement on the website Backpage.com, police said. ".Not threatened to, did cooperate. They took her phone, downloaded the evidence against Mister Rocket Scientist (and inadvertently, other hobbyists), and sent her packing her bags back to Iowa. I doubt they will do anything more with it. They were after her drug connection and the fireman, I think.

Thanks on the heads up on the article.

Funny thing about the headlines and the actual story, they don't relate to the headline at all.

Now, I am not saying that the headlines are false. Just that the article doesn't explain anything about the Nashua police cooperating and coordinating law enforcement activities with Mass. Police departments.

Instead, the article explains that personnel from hotels / motels in the various communities met with FBI and Mass. State Police, who gave a presentation on what to look for to spot prostitution and human trafficking activity. Nothing on joint exercises by the Nashua Police Dept with other police departments. Actually, the article doesn't even mention the Nashua Police Dept in the body of the article. Just pointing out the obvious.

The first set tense in the article states:

ANDOVER, Mass. —.

Nashua police are teaming up with several Massachusetts departments to stop prostitution and human trafficking.

There is also a map illustrating the towns thar are involved. It's spelled out pretty clear.

You obviously didn't read the article. The first sentence repeats the headline almost verbatim. Then nothing. Thus, the non-sequitor.

So you're saying a headline and the beginning of an article should be dismissed because something isn't scattered throughout the article? I fear you are taking it a little too lightly. The fact that Nashua is mentioned at all means something. Pulling hairs won't change the ever increasing squeeze that's being put on the hobby. Any article like this should have you operating with extra caution in the areas mentioned. One would be a complete fool not to. Now, I know you like to correct and argue and scatter sarcasm but let's just leave it alone. We shall agree to disagree.

Let's hope it's obvious that I meant splitting hairs and no reading comprehension skill problems here bud. You are carelessly dismissing the facts in the article.
