They lure guys to an unfamiliar neighborhood (but familiar to them), get a description of the car, then lure them away to search for a bogus address or something. While that's going on, they check out the car and break in if the opportunity presents itself.
In most cases there'd be nothing to connect the provider to the crime and the victim probably wouldn't report it because then he'd have to explain why he was in the neighborhood in the first place. Also, since many mongers leave their extra cash and valuables in the car before going to an incall appt, there's a decent chance a car break-in could be a good score for them.
