While a little more expensive upfront, I would suggest getting a pay as you go credit / debit card (greendot, walmart, etc.) from 7-eleven, the grocery store, etc.
1. They can't charge funds that are not on the card.
2. If you pay cash for the card, there is no 'permanent record' on your credit report regarding what you spend your money on.
3. No questions about charges if you are not the only one in your household.
That said, you can cancel almost immediately, the VIP does not expire until your month of membership is over (at least that has been my experience).
Also, get a burner phone for most of the same reasons.
