Greetings Gentlemen.
I thought I would try out an ad here in Indianapolis off of Backpage for a girl called Rosie. Here is the URL: http://indianapolis.backpage.com/Fem...6000hr/2140100
It sounded legit, as I heard children playing and crying in the background when I called. However, the lady who showed up to my hotel was an hour late and looked nothing like the photos. She also said that "they" had sent her. She was a very large girl. She then pulled down her top and started to dance, and that was it. After a few minutes of this, (and her answering her phone a half dozen times) someone started banging on the door. I did not answer but looked outside. Someone was obscuring the view hole. Of course this would concern any of us greatly, as the odds of a cash & dash, or a shakedown, or even LE. I called the front desk and let them know someone was at my door, and I didn't know who it was. I then went to the door and said that hotel security was on their way. I had the girl pull her top back up and she said it was probably her friend. I asked who it was, and a female voice said it was a friend of the lady inside. I opened the door and had my guest (who was again, NOT Rosie) exit. I then closed the door and called the number to see what was up.
The lady who answered this time was an older and nasty lady, who liked to swear, and said that prostitution is illegal, her girls only dance, and that guys should keep their &^%$# in their pants. And that nobody ever puts their real pictures on Backpage. I've used a few ladies from BP, and I know that this is not the truth.
So, if you see any ads out there with the phone number: 317-222-8278 this is definitely number you do not want to call.

A simple Google search of the number would have told you everything. And watch BP.com from time to time because I've seen men post about THAT number and others warning you it's an agency or scammer.

So how did it happen?
Long story short to the story below, and believe me I've learned from experience, if they are not the girl from the picture or the pictures are misrepresenting of their age and weight simply send them away.
Personally with new girls I usually do incall first. I tell myself if they do not look like the girl in the photo to turn around. This method saved me with a girl down in Bloomington called April. She looked relatively thin and young in the photo but when I got to her incall apartment she was significantly overweight and had these weird bruises and acne on her face. She also dressed sloppy and was unsure about her hygiene. Everything was wrong including the place reeking like smoke. I thought with the head on my shoulders and told her I changed my mind and walked out. This is what all Hobbyist should do which would get rid of 90% of the scammers.
Also I try this if at all possible to pay at the end of the session not before. If they aren't going to scam you this should not be a big problem. Actually the last 9 out of 10 escorts took the money at the end not the beginning. You can also do a half hour and bump up to the hour. You tell them if you are happy you'll upgrade. Most of my experiences has been good save April this year as most of lasts years too (had to walk away once) because I learned from my mistakes. Do yourself a favor and learn from mine as learning the hard way sucks.
BTW the advice about going with reviewed girls is spot on. I do take a chance once and a while but it is fairly calculated and usually do incall so I can leave before paying if things seem off.
Finally if you are going to take a chance spend some time talking with the girl on the phone. There have been several providers I knew without a doubt they were going to be good because we had a good 10 minute conversation in which I could tell they really opened up.
Ok time to let go my worst vice advice, besides hobbying of coarse.

My belief that a trust or comfort level is established during the screening process, if the provider actually goes through one. Most of the time it involves something that has to do with work, like a work phone number with ext, or a work e-mail address sent to the provider. Then a conversation between the hobbyist and provider usually takes place shortly thereafter. I'm not sure it matters when the donation is actually given, and a lot of times that's a procedure which is explained during the screening process. And I say donation because I think this should always be about companionship provided by a provider for a hobbyist. If you see someone who generally talks about paying for specific services, and in this case a rejection fee? (I actually laughed till my bawls ached when I read that). Then I assume you found a provider on BP. Unless you are a lucky chap like Ilapp, who seemed to find a nugget of gold in a coal mine the other day (an excellent writeup on the BP reviews board, and yes, I do consider most of the ads I have seen on BP to be lumps of coal) , then it seems a ripoff may be unavoidable in your case. I do so because it's the way it's always been done, because it gets that out of the way before the fun begins, and because, as you say, it's the woman who's at real risk.
I know that Johnny Z just meant that where things are casual he acts casually. I know because I asked him. He didn't mean to imply anyone should ignore stated instructions. Newbies out there should understand that this takes advantage of a woman's natural disinclination to incriminate herself by asking. It's way beyond a little faux pas, and *it's not your choice.
The other thing about it is I'm not sure how paying at the end is supposed to prevent ripoffs. It might prevent cash-and-dash, but if cash-and-dash is in the cards I suppose the woman's going to ask about the donation up front, or ask for the money for the room first, etc. 90% of avoiding cash-and-dash is not putting yourself in that position in the first place. It sounds more to me like an open invitation to object to paying *after* services have been provided, in which case you got to ask who's ripping off who.

There is usually an imbalance of power in any transaction, and often it's inherent. The debate on whether Alex qualifies as a Rip Off is arguable.
But I have not detailed all the facts ad the incidences when she set me up, promised me then defrauded me. Let me see, there was a solid week of I'll show up the next day which cost me over 5 large. Then there was the I need gas (again) followed by claims she did not get the Walmart money wire then another wire via CVS (which is her favorite). Then the false pleas to get her car out of impound followed by escalating fees and the promise to visit me every day for three days which never happened. Then the drive there and waiting all day past midnight. Then another trip with a meeting at Panera followed by waiting and no go again. The her emergency avoiding disconnecting her electricity. Followed by a cancellation, then a no show the next day, not answering her phone.

Wow, I really enjoy those detailed reports but I found the sexual discussion details lacking.

The last time I made a long road trip into Indy as agreed to with Alex, I drove all the way and I got a hotel room.
Mind you I am traveling from the north edge of the State--so it's a haul there and a haul back.
I got the hotel room Alex wanted but then she never answered my texts or picked up the phone--until I called her from the room which was a local number and a number she apparently did not recognize. The moment she answered and hear my phone, she hung up. Then I called again and she had her gf Cheyenne answer her phone.
Cheyenne started off with Alex was at my house last night. She left her phone. In short order this changed to denying that Alex had left her phone there for the night. Let me present a possible scenario. Indyguy, who seems to have the upper hand at the moment, meets with the mark and accomplishes what he can, then mentions he'll be out of the area for several days, for business. This gives the others a chance to score the first date with her.
Before he returns, IG drops plenty of hints about a long term, lucrative arrangement. Perhaps as a paid property manager, for his several properties around town. Perks include an upscale furnished apartment, company car and a very reasonable salary. Her only duties are to call maintenance if there's a problem and to visit the tenants each month to pick up the rent, most of them pay cash. They are all good tenants who always pay on time.

Let me present a possible scenario. Indyguy, who seems to have the upper hand at the moment, meets with the mark and accomplishes what he can, then mentions he'll be out of the area for several days, for business. This gives the others a chance to score the first date with her.
Before he returns, IG drops plenty of hints about a long term, lucrative arrangement. Perhaps as a paid property manager, for his several properties around town. Perks include an upscale furnished apartment, company car and a very reasonable salary. Her only duties are to call maintenance if there's a problem and to visit the tenants each month to pick up the rent, most of them pay cash. They are all good tenants who always pay on time.
Set up a meeting at a good restaurant to finalize details etc. Once at the restaurant, let her know a few of your tenants will be dropping by, so they know who to give the money to. Then have everyone show up, including NotDave.

With all due respect given to Admin, I will try and keep this report factual, free of drama, and as short and to the point as it can be.

I have always stuck up for ladies and will continue to do so, as long as they treat me and others with the same respect that they wish to be treated by any gentleman hobbyist. This is a tough Hobby for us and Biz for them. A "Lady" in this biz can be a term that is used extremely loosely or because they deserve it. I don't like providers that steal, run, are unsafe and put mongers and other providers in harms way. Providers are just one side. There is another side to the hobby. The monger / Hobbyist side. Sometimes we get some real Douche bags, GRB is one. Because of his inability to literally have any "Balls" of any type, he hurt many in this hobby. This is just one example of how one hobbyist can make a mess out of things.
Point: There may be some mongers on here that were able to tap Alex. Romeoinsd was one recent report of it happening. Now who has not put up a report, anyone care to fess up? Not saying there is one to be put up, but we really wouldn't know would we. IndyGuy has been forthright in all his posts. If he had tapped her and wanted to keep her to himself, then an easy "She never showed and I lost my investment" would be all he needed to say. Then all his fruits would be good and nobody would know. There is one monger who I don't think is being completely forthright and for those of you that have done a little research you may have already seen some of the inconsistencies. Some of you have information that has been PM'd around. Look it over carefully, read between the lines a little. Review a certain mongers past posts and get a feel for the person. No accusations here, just extremely curious, careful, cautious and makes me wonder, just like the Lyrics in Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven".
This in no way means that Alex is a completely innocent lady (used loosely) but she sure doesn't deserve to be treated like shit. No woman deserves to be abused mentally, physically or verbally. It is the additional risk that they unknowingly take, but perhaps that is for the universe to decide.
I, like many others here, have been involved in a few close calls between rip offs, shake downs or the like. In all cases, something smelled wrong, so I trusted my gut instincts that told me to walk away and did just that. Maybe I am just overly cautious, lucky, or a combination of both. I have not yet been scammed, but the word "yet", meaning it could happen, which is the whole point.
As a rule of thumb, be sure to use the head you have up top first!
