He explained at length the process of what would happen. He told me right there I would be released in a few hours, depending on how busy the booking clerks were. It was a slow night so should be quick. He told I would need $500 cash for bail. Did I want to stop and get some at an ATM? I said yes I need to. So they took me to one along the way to the station.
At the main station in town I went through the doors to down below (in back behind Straub), just like you see in news. They were booking 2 other guys, one for beating is girlfriend. Another guy was for another sting. Picture, fingerprints, took all my stuff in a bag. Put me in a holding cell. 2 hours goes by and then they pull me out. They had to research and see if I was out or had any other warrants. No So they make me sign a bunch of papers and tell me to pay $500 cash (only). I walk out and walk back to hotel where I left my car.
That was the longest walk of my life.
Back then, I was lucky to still be under law where I (later) would go to court, be put under probation, and after 6 months of good behavior, charges dropped, no conviction. I'm out of there thanks to a good attorney and $2,500 in fees. It was worth it for me. A private attorney, not a government guy. After 5 years, I can write in to court and apply to have my "arrest" record expunged. I have NO convictions or anything on record. But an 'arrest' s on file and can be publicly accessed. I'll feel better about this all when that is erased.
Meanwhile after a long spell of staying clean and lots of second thoughts. I slowly came back to a low level of paranoia where I'm mongering once in awhile, but nowhere near as much as I used to, very limited basis. And very careful.

Personally, I would never see any independents advertising online unless established providers gone indie (such as Joon). We're lucky to have a lot of relaxation places to choose from here. Your tax dollars at work, of course it's also government corruption. My home has been burglarized 4 times in the past 5 yrs. And they spend time and effort on what is normally an agreement by 2 consenting adults to harrass and pull cash from the non violent and those that don't steal from others. Pathetic. To add to that, I will say that, from my experience, there is no real correlation between looks and service. I've gotten outstanding GFE and PSE services from many very attractive providers that were personable and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I've also experienced the same with more average looking providers, so it does vary. On many occaisions, the more attractive, well reviewed and well known providers may have higher rates, but those rates should be all-inclusive with no upselling. From what I've experienced, it seems that you're more likely to encounter upselling from "budget" providers, but they can also range in looks as you can sometimes find hidden gems and hot newcomers that haven't learned the ropes yet.
My advice is to try to feel the provider out a little.
