These "suspects" all sound like real amatuers. Oh well. Except for the guy suspected of harming a SW. If the ADN is accurate,, he's a G.I.; and trust me on this one, he's hosed. Excellent.
In cases like this his Commander/Sgt Major/1st SGT will turn a blind-eye if able, but when the individual concerned crosses that kind of line,,, the UCMJ can be a real *****.

I wonder if some lawyer will attack the law as unconstitutional because the arrested john forfeits his vehicle before he's found guilty. It seems to me as if the law violates the innocent until proven guilty (or rich) part of the constitution.

Hey All!
I don't think the law will be declared unconstitutional. A guilty verdict is not required for an item or a person to be held. Some people are in jail for years before their trial.
I have never gotten into the SW scene. It just doesn't appeal to me. It maybe cheaper but the girls are of lower quality. And there is considerably more risk and danger involved. But maybe thats part of the thrill. Right now, all I know is that without a car for 30 days I wouldn't have a job by the time I got it back. Not worth it!
To me the parlors are where its at. They're safe, clean, and dependable. With a little searching one can find a quality girl at a reasonable price. Even the AMPs have their jewels. You're all just going to have to do what us season mongers have long ago figured out. Go inside! Why would you even want to partake in the SW scene in Anchorage? Most are total crack hoes, old, fully of disease and just downright disgusting. I don't usually even bother to look anymore. Anchorage is FULL of providers working by word of mouth of out of different advertisers, sure it will cost more, but you will be safe, most of the girls are clean and provide decent service. Why risk arrest, disease, and everything else just to try and save a few bucks. The APD is not messing around out there, if you play on the streets these days, you're going to get caught and pay the price.

Good evening!
LE always seems to be after something. Now, it's the SW scene. They'll do their thing and move on after awhile. The business sprouts up in a different way. Those of you who have been around awhile surely remember when 4th and 5th regularly had 100 girls a night walking. There was a crackdown and the business went away. At one point Spenard road was whorehouse row. Now, the Ravenite is left. West 27th had 7 houses, now there are 2, and they're under pressure to close. But the business continued in other ways. There are now more "escort" services than ever. I think they cater mainly to hotel visitors. There are more independent massage providers. They work discreetly out of their homes. Some provide excellent service. The newest deal is the proliferation of AMPs. I have a feeling that if they keep popping up the cops will stage a few stings. It is a constant game that is continually being played. And it is OK. We are really lucky up here. There are lots of ways and opportunities to partake in the hobby. There are cities in the lower 48 where one can be hard pressed to find a single decent way to purchase pleasure. Anchorage is still a great place to play.

Everything you say makes a lot of sense. A lot of them are crack ho's, and pretty disgusting, and damn it's getting thinner all the time, not to mention dangerous.
But there's still the, oh I don't know, call it the thrill of the hunt. There's something about driving around window shopping for "tang" that you miss with the indoor services.
Kind of like the difference between a nice restaurant and drive up fast food. One is better than the other in most ways, but that drive up food is quick and satisfying.

Good to finally see this board with a little life to it. Mukkman, and Cobalt, good posts, I'll do my best to respond.
I have not partaken for years in the SW scene, this is not to say I have not spotted a few diamonds in the rough out there, but I'm just not willing to except the risk or any or all of the following: Being arrested, catching a disease, being robbed, being assaulted by a setup, having people I know see me driving around with an obvious SW, etc., etc. There is surly a long list of risks associated with picking up a SW and if you do so regularly, one of these scenarios is bound to nip you in the ass sooner or later.
On the other hand, finding good quality indoor providers, can be a challenging and expensive task, but I assure you, it's pennies on the dollars, compared to what it will costs should you get caught with a SW.
It's of my opinion (just my opinion as I do not speak for the powers that be) that LE and the city council in general just wants to clean up the street scene out there. They are not targeting the discreet providers. Think about where Spenard is and where these SW are located, right by the Airport, it's going to be one of the first things tourists and business visitor's including families are likely to see as they come to visit Anchorage. This is not a good thing. You have a majority of the rental car agency and hotels right along Spenard. The city council members don't want visitors having to sidestep and see an area full of pimps, crack dealers and prostitutes right as they come to Anchorage. Not a good thing.
On the other hand, the indoor scene is aloud to exist because:
The reasons are many. #1. The cost is enormous to break up and bust an indoor provider. #2. It's out of sight, out of mind. #3. Ultimately, they know, if they shut a few down, it will just emerge somewhere else. #5. After all it is the world's oldest profession, it always has been and always will be.
If you look at the recent breakup of numerous brothels in Anchorage, it's not due to the act of prostitution itself, it's due to money laundering and tax evasion, the prostitution charge is just some of the icing on the cake.
Personally, myself, as I have stated before, I'm all for cleaning up the streets, after all I reside here also. I'm opposed to ridding the city of all the massage establishments and private providers who advertise. City officials need to realize that like it or not, some prostitution at a discreet level, in a clean safe environment, is a needed service. You can argue this point based on your personal morality, but sex is a natural and much needed part of life. Not all guys out there are in an ideal situation to regularly receive sex. Having an option to pay for safe, clean, discreet service should be available. When it spills into other areas of crime and ruins the community, it then becomes a bad thing. SW seem to bring this element wherever they go.
As always things posted here are just my opinion. Most information is based on fiction, not from actually experiences.

I couldn't agree more with BOTH of the last 2 posts.

Anchor-town is changing,, Tourism, like it or not, believe it or not, is HUGE. They built a new terminal at the airport,and an unbelievably stupid train station at said airport,, why?, TOURISM.
Look at the ground in a box outlined by ; Int' Arpt rd., Bensen, ,Arctic, and the Old Seward,,,,,, 1000!!?? new hotel rooms?,5 new resturants?, a guess,, but see it for yourselves. Huge. Big bucks.
So,, how do you get there? Either up Int' Arpt or up Spenard, at least up to Minn. So,, "we" can't have any "problems" on either street. Now, Int Arpt is now in effect a hiway,but Spenard is a 35 MPH zone. 'nuff said???
In the "Glory days" , 5th was the scene,,well,, that was "downtown",, thats gotta go..........but , Spenard?, thats "out in the sticks". See a trend here? New day,, new game,, more on that later,,I promise.
2, The APD , as an organization,is a bunch of ass-****s,, my words. And this, from the son of a 40 year cop. I've never been taught to, or endevoured to, have anything but the highest regard for peace officers, public safety officers, true role models.
Something,somewhere went wrong in the APD,, and I'm not the one to figure out where.
"Spite" you might say,, perhaps, but,, I've recieved 3 tickets in my life,, 2 from the AK Troopers and 1 from APD. Suffice to say the 2 from the Troopers,,warrented,, I WAS WRONG. The 1 from APD ,, pure BS.. Not to mention the "your sh*t" attitude, vs. the "dang,you screwed up" attitude.
Where is the "PALS"?, the "inner-city" involvement?
I also can not tell you how many times I've watched APD drive past stranded women/kids on the Glenn,, in winter.. 8-10 times a winter? I've pulled more women/kids off the Glenn than APD in the last 10 years. Some "Public Safety Officers"...
I digress,,, my point is this: It's not a bright future for my favorite street,, changing demographics combined with a neo-na*i police force,,, hmmm
Perhaps, when thinking about box,we should think outside-the-box.
So,, whats a "monger" to do? Sorry,, but I love the hunt, and a new? hunting ground is what I think I've found. I didn't find it, the providers did. It's not a real secret, anyone could find it. I wouldn't have gave it a second glance, but for my current situation. It's really NOT a great find,but,, for anyone REALLY hunting,,wow. 3,, count them,,, 3!!! part-timers,, in 2 weeks, without really trying. and the occasional "pro".

Nice post, now if we could just get a few more regulars to post and get this board moving again.
Even though I don't ever seek SW in Alaska, I am curious to the "new" area you discovered. Could it be a once a time ago flourishing area that is coming to life again?
I remember back around 1993 or so, when I was returning home from a flight and my drive took me down Spenard at about 1 AM, I was awe struck as I counted about 25-30 SW, right out in the open. Then I drove down 4th and around 5th (the loop there) and noticed another 20-30 SW. Funny how times change, now you guys can cruise for days and see one or two strung out crack hoes.
I have found numerous locations across the USA to be like this. The trend has changed. In San Diego, Ca, where I frequent business trips, there used to be 100s, yes I said hundreds, or SW (very nice, some model types) along a stretch out by the sports arena, no more, now there are zero, none, same thing with Las Vegas, and different spots in Arizona, NOTHING!
My theory is this. These girls who work, still have to be out there somewhere, making that connection is harder, but due to this, it is safer.
If you're honest with yourself, you would not want SW, pimps pushers, etc., in your backyard either. It hurts businesses, families with kids live there. If you look at Spenard, it used to be a real dump, really only scummy type of people lived there, most were low income partiers, who did drugs. Now it is a fairly clean community. I will say I do wish there was a small side street somewhere where the city officials let a little action go on. But if you think about it, we have a real problem in Anchorage with gangs, robberies, drugs, etc., etc., etc., The prostitutes seem to flow with this crowd and the police know it. They really have no choice but to clean things up, if you look at it from their perspective and the people who pay their mortgages and property taxes in those areas, should be entitled to a safe community.

And I am wrong, or does the “planning it out” required for an indoor provider take away from the excitement of the session? Because the spontaneity is gone, and so is the unpredictability. I’ve never been marriage impaired myself, but I hear that’s what often drives otherwise happily married men to monger. The nasty, and the unknown. The spice.
With a new indoor provider what I mostly feel is nervous. Like it’s some kind of interview that I might fail ?
Still, Tang is right about how it makes more sense, and can be a better experience. Maybe we’re out of our minds.
SF, your rule #1 makes sense. If you know your ground, not only can you stay safer, and be more successful, but also you don’t go hitting on pedestrians by accident. But that’s what makes it hard sometimes for us out-of-towners. You’d figure Spenard would be a safe bet. Heck, That’s what Spenard is known for. If you have a little money, and you want to get laid, you can always go to Spenard. The pickings are unpredictable, and YMMV was never truer, but you can always go to Spenard. Except for maybe now. Dang.
I’ve only been in AK since 1990, and sometimes I’m a slow learner. Not really a professional monger at all; just a motivated hobbyist? Back on track.
Spenard has been dead as of late, saw one last night that gave me the shudders though! Black hair, Morticia Adams complexion, I almost fainted in fright.

First and formost let me say that this report has nothing to add for mongers who seek information on current situations.

12 days and counting to another trip to Thailand. Just curious if any of you other fellow Alaskan mongers have been to the land of smiles? I've been there a good 18 times now, each and every trip better then the last.

round trip air right now is a bit high. Watch for specials. Check frequently with travel sites like Yahoo, orbits, etc. Last November, I traveled round trip from Honolulu to Bangkok for $499!!!. Right now from Anchorage it will run you around $900 or so. I usually can always wait and hit a special from around $700 or less if you watch the paper. A few months back in the travel section there was a travel agent advertising round trips for $599 to Bangkok.
Another great way is to coordinate you trip for when you leave the state. I usually fly out of Losangeles and always get a ticket for under $600. I travel down that way frequently anyhow so I'll coordinate my free time to start with a southern cali trip and leave from LA.
As for accommodations, I will repeat this twice. NEVER USE A TRAVEL AGENT, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! ONCE AGAIN, NEVER USE A TRAVEL AGENT, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!
You can easily find a 4 star hotel right smack in the middle of all the action for about $35-$45 a night. If you want a moderate but still very clean comfortable hotel, you can get one for under $25 per night. For about $50-$60 you can stay someplace similar to a Hilton Sheraton, in real luxury, but I don't advise it. Thailand is quite generous with their rooms and accommodations. Breakfast is almost always included with you regular price.
As for food. In my opinion there is no place better in the universe for food then Thailand, especially Bangkok. You can stuff you belly all day with excellent tasting food for under $5 per day!
The average girl to stay all night with you, even be your private tour guide will set you back $15-$30 US. It's almost unimaginable. You will feel guilty, trust me as these girls are so sweet and kind it's almost shocking. They will get up clean your room, massage you, pamper you, and make real love to you! Sure some are hardened hookers, but not many. Most are genuine attentive ladies!
I will warn you though, once you make a trip to Thailand, it gets into you blood and you will have to go back, no matter what the costs. It's the most addictive thing earth has to offer. Every thing GettingTang says is true I have made the trip 4 times and it only gets better. I also would mention that that it is a safe country to visit. You might not be able to read the street signs, but almost every one speaks a little english.

Pictures are about all we have to go by, other than monger reports.
Providers need to know that and post the most flattering pictures they have.

Essentials is a massage parlor that has been in Anchorage over 20 years. Most of that time it was located at 8th & M. In the past few years it has moved several times. Was driving down Tudor when I spotted a sign for what appears to be yet another AMP. It is called Tokyo Massage. It is a little eastward of across the street from Tony Roma's. These things are sprouting like mushrooms! There are now nine (that I'm aware of), five of them in the Tudor-Muldoon area. I think sooner or later the law is going to start taking notice of these places. They used to be very discreet (no signs out front) but now they seem to be getting bolder.
AMPs have always interested me. The girls working there are never the owners. It is very rare that you'll ever see more than two girls working at an AMP. They have to put in a lot of hours. For some of them it seems they have to pay off some kind of debt to the owner. Might someone enlighten me as to what happened with the Chateau? I know it is closed. The only thing I ever saw in the paper was a report of an investigation of money laundering. These people who promote such ideas, had better be squeaky clean, or they will be exposed for the hypocrites they might very well be.
There is an old saying, sure it's a cliche, but perhaps the most truthful of all. "If your man aint getting it from you, he is getting from someone else" These women who always promote these idiotic public humiliation ideas, need to understand this. Has anybody else been having problems with the "Last 24 Hours" function? I haven't been able to get it to work for the past week, and I've sent a couple of PMs to Admin with no results. Keep in mind CSP cannot do anything to you!. All they can is detain you if they want. They are more involved with drink eskimos and drugs then the street girls.

A little further up from Borealis Beach Club, right before Big Lake (a little after the bright green building on the left I think) off to the right is another strip club. They have a big sign that says "Showgirls" and the old limo from the Showboat is parked there. I would guess this is owned by the guy who had the Showboat in Anchorage. I went 2 times (yesterday and today) to AMP in Sullivan area and were disapointed by the service.
I went the first time at 9PM, and was welcomed by 3 pleasant young girls (between 25 and 33).

Visited the AMP near the Sully last night. (BTW, do they still advertise, or rely on word of mouth? This place has a much different feel than VIP's or the other "strip mall" type places).

I've been here for a few years now. Weather never seemed to be a factor before. You may sometimes have trouble spotting them when its snowing, but they are there. Matter of fact sometimes you can get a better deal just for giving them a warm place to sit, etc for awhile.

The offending provider is in her early twenties, blond hair, blue eyes, and goes by the name Lacey or Lacey Buttercup. She claims to be 18 years old but she has a 3 yo kid and her body shows it. After spending Christmas day out and about, I decided to see if I could find a little present for myself. I went out cruising around 10:30p.
