When you press "print screen" button on your keyboard, it takes a copy of your screen. Then you can paste it wherever you want.

I'm with you. I don't really expect these people to be the most eloquent writers, considering what they're doing for a living, but if you are capable of stringing together a sentance then you should know basic English.
One thing that's really funny to me is the spam entries (you see them more in the W4M areas) that are trying so hard to sound like the girl next door, but they are obviously written by someone who does not speak English at all.

Wow, those Asian girls look great compared to the idea that I get in my mind about the ones at the AMP's. HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Under the watchful eye of law enforcement in 40 states, Craigslist pledged Thursday to crack down on ads for prostitution on its Web sites.

As part of Craigslist's agreement with attorneys general around the country, anyone who posts an "erotic services" ad will be required to provide a working phone number and pay a fee with a valid credit card. The Web site will provide that information to law enforcement if subpoenaed.

Jim Buckmaster, Craigslist's CEO, said the deal will allow legitimate escort services to continue advertising, while providing a strong disincentive to companies that are conducting illegal business.

"We don't view it as a penalty, we view it as raising the accountability," he said. "A legitimate business should have no problem with that. They should have no problem providing a phone number or credit card credentials."

Craigslist filed lawsuits this week against 14 software and Internet companies that help people who post erotic service ads to circumvent the Web site's defenses against inappropriate content and illegal activity.

Craigslist, which posts 30 million ads every month for everything from apartment rentals to jobs in hundreds of cities, will also begin using new search technology in an effort to help authorities find missing children and victims of human trafficking.

Police across the country have been arresting people for using Web sites like Craigslist to advertise the sexual services of women and children.

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who brokered the agreement, said his office contacted Craigslist after receiving several complaints from users late in 2007 about photographs depicting nudity on the site. He said Craigslist cooperated fully and there was never a need to threaten legal action against the company.

"The dark side of the Internet must be stopped from eclipsing its immense potential for good," Blumenthal said.

He added: "I am fully convinced that Craigslist wants to stop this activity as much as we do."

Buckmaster said the agreement does not cover Craigslist's personal ads, where prostitutes have been found advertising for "dates." But he said the San Francisco-based company has been working with authorities on that issue and on cutting down on the sale of stolen merchandise on its sites.

"We are experimenting with telephone verification in those sections," he said. "We don't have any plans to use credit card verification in that section currently. But this partnership is going to be active in that area as well, anywhere where crime does or could occur."

The agreement was joined by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

"The criminals engaged in the sexual trafficking of children no longer parade them on the streets of America's cities," said the center's chief executive, Ernie Allen. "Today, they market them via the Internet."

They are already starting to charge providers in Huntsville so I figure they will in Birmingham also. That will help cut down on the fake ads and sleazy pimp wanna be's posting since now they will have to provide credit card information.

I generally post ads every 4 or so months on CL, and it had been mid-summer since I last posted them, and I went in to post them about a month ago and when I did it came up wanting phone verification before I could post. I went to the CL forums to see what it was all about, and saw that they were starting to require this for everybody. The only problem I see with this is it stated there that it will catch spam posts and posts that are repeatedly flagged and make it so that person can't post an ad anymore. Well, the problem I see in this is alot of escorts and the like will flag other escorts ads just because with their ad being there it cuts into their business. Because an ad is flagged doesn't mean it's inappropriate or fake.

I wonder if the fact they're charging for ads now will make the flagging practice change somewhat. Now just by getting flagged several times either by different people or by the same person on different occasions will cause your ad to be removed. I wonder if the charging for ads will make them take a closer look at the ads being flagged, because alot of times ads are flagged not because they're inappropriate but because someone has a beef with whoever posted the ad. I know in old ads I used to post I got to where I'd get the same response over and over from the same 2 or 3 people who would always ask me for a pic but never tell me anything at all about themselves or send me a pic or anything. I got fed up with it and commented in my ad that if I was asked for a pic I at least wanted to be sent one of them and I also wanted to know to whom I was talking to. Because of this I started getting my ad flagged whenever I'd post it. If they're going to start charging people for ads, they at least need to take a look at flagged ads before they're deleted, and maybe have the flaggers put a reason for flagging them so it won't be for pure spite an ad is flagged. If they start charging someone to post ads in the 'seeking' categories then that will be when my use of Craigslist ceases. I don;t get enough responses or experiences from them to warrant ever paying for them. My main source of meetups disappeared a while back when Yahoo started charging for their personals. You'd be surprised at the number of girls who responded to me, and I to them, that I met from those and on the first meeting ended up having sex, even ones that were supposedly 'looking for a relationship'. The thing is, when they forced you to start paying, they also forced the women to start paying as well, taking away alot of the bites you might get to an ad, and not making it worth subscribing to their service.

I have talked to several providers in many states about the no blocked calls issue. While LE is always an issue, the majority tell me it is because they will not answer calls from former clients that have either been abusive, have not paid (yes this does happen), or have caused issues in other ways. It isn't like they are going to call the cops, unless it is really a bad situation.

While these gals are looking for your money, they do not want to be beaten, abused, or otherwise taken advantage of either.

You would be surprised in an area how quickly a bad date gets spread around. The telephone number will be shared as a warning to the other girls.

Of course, in the case of a fake ad by the cops, they want your telephone number too...... for obvious reasons.

RJ, do you know what a BOCL is ? Someone in another board said you could use that to look at all the photos posted on CL without having to actually weed through the ads. I looked on the CL page and I saw a 'Best of' section, but didn't see any way to bring up photos posted.

I sometimes get confused, myself, with the coded type price figures and even sometimes the abbreviations for things. If everyone used the same formula that would be different, but some people say .2, .02, $$, and I never know if it's 20 or 200, I just spell it out in my posts. The abbreviations sometimes confuse me, especially the obscure ones, as well as the references to countries as sexual acts. It kind of reminds me of when I first got online and had no idea what even the most common net lingo meant, such as LOL. I remember for a while I thought someone posting ROTFLMAO was saying something in Latin or Russian. These were things you would see in everyday chat, so I looked up LOL to see exactly what it meant and it came up with 2 meanings - laughing out loud and little old lady. I figured out what it must mean, obviously. Another thing that has always annoyed me is the ones who 'dream'. I know it's someone's way of trying not to incriminate themselves, but the way I look at it, forum posts are nothing but typed words, anyway. The type stuff we talk about here would have to be caught in the act in the first place, past encounters described in 'Penthouse forum' style aren't going to cause you to be arrested.

I dig most of your posts man and you seem pretty much on the know of things. But saw where you cut a paste which is cool. And saw where you got somethings wrong in postings. I was personally freaked a while back to see Cj because a friend told me about postings that some girls she was on with from that old prettygirls site were cops per what you posted. Kent dude love your posts man. I'd be way to freaked out to go hit the street but it's wild in the other forum all the info you guys come up with.

I follow a few of these:

1. Always try to find out at least what hotel first and instead of calling before you head over. Call from right at the hotel then you can see if anyone is moving around in preperation for your arrival. Never even hurts to swing by once here or there if you have to run out and it's not to far out of the way.

I once had an appointment with a girl at the supereight while it was being remodeled. I swung by an hour and half before my appointment and guess what the L. E. Had four cars out front and were hauling a guy off. I didn't go to the room and about 15 mins after my time the girl was calling and begging and offering to meet me for less. No THANK YOU.

2. Always check the parking lots near by as you drive up and take a run through the parking lot. If I get the room like I did with the Cj girl always wait in the lobby for her to show to see if she is alone then walk up to the room. Yeah, even though visiting escorts are a bit more than seeing a SW, the thing is alot of SW now advertise on Craigslist, and going to see them is no different than going to see a SW at a motel, in a way. Sure you might not be trolling the street looking for a girl, but you're likely to have the same experiences at the motel as a monger would who's seeing a SW. Remember, if these girls are actually SW who just ended up finding out about Craigslist, they're going to have the same crap happen at that motel as would happen if you'd picked them up off the street. That's why I never go in motels anymore. I have found that in most places that girls that are like $250. 00 and up have seem to gotten smarter and stopped posting thier numbers. I was talking with a girl in Atl. And she said that she doesn't post her number because people that might harrass girl like religous groups, guys wanting to jack off, and teenagers won't want to get an email on their computer and the just look for a fast number to call. She said making them email to get a number weeds out the people that will call and waste her time. Other than the $500 CJ, I don't recall a single CL poster that was legit that did not post their phone # at least in Birmingham. Or pretending to be in Birmingham like CJ.

Most of the time they are ID theft fishers or "enter your credit card so I know you are real" kind of scams.

Interestingly, my yahoo account had recently been getting a bunch of spam and I am not sure how. I did not respond to any questionable ads with it.

The account had been remarkably lacking in spam for years and then all of a sudden it was getting 10-15 a day for a few days. It seems to have stopped since they were all deleted unread. Not sure what started it.

I was just meaning you can't just immediately assume it's fake, because not everyone knows the CL ways of doing things, and some people are just ignorant. If someone's new, or if they're posting an ad alone, they might not want their number public.

Spam from replies to ads on CL has been going on for a while now. I used to reply to ads occasionally there, until all I got was the same reply over and over from different email addresses, and then the reply email was always different than the one ot came from, too. Now I seldom, if ever, reply to ads there, but I do occasionally post ads, and that way anyone who reads it and is interested can just respond to me.

But I'm just offering my opinion as to what might be up from my small bit of experience with CL. I only post ads there every 3 or 4 months, and maybe look through the ads every 3 or 4 weeks or so. The ads for WSM in both the personals area and the casual encounters area are so overrun with crap ads I just don't bother sifting through them. You know more from experience what might be going on there, but remember, not everyone visits that site every day like you do, and that includes the girls who might be posting ads. That's why you can't discount that it might just be someone who's not comfortable posting their number.

I could name at least a dozen that I have contacted that don't post numbers that were real in maybe the last six months all I had spoken with and only maybe 4 I have seen in person. Hell, I don't fault them for not wanting to post their numbers like Kent said to be careful. And yeah there are alot that I have sent messages to that are fake. Other than the $500 CJ, I don't recall a single CL poster that was legit that did not post their phone # at least in Birmingham. Or pretending to be in Birmingham like CJ.

Most of the time they are ID theft fishers or "enter your credit card so I know you are real" kind of scams.

Interestingly, my yahoo account had recently been getting a bunch of spam and I am not sure how. I did not respond to any questionable ads with it.

The account had been remarkably lacking in spam for years and then all of a sudden it was getting 10-15 a day for a few days. It seems to have stopped since they were all deleted unread. Not sure what started it.

I can think of 2. J the Nicki girl with the 586 area code that used to list Shelby county but more recently Birmingham/Roebuck. (She used to mispell Roebuck at first.- robuck) and Allure with the 410 phone #. I have seen her pics and theres a good reason why she does not post them. Her phone would never ring. Other than those two I do not know of any.

Here's what I gather from that. First of all, CL is not just where escorts post. It's also where lonely, unsatisfied wives post just looking for something discreet on the side. It's where college girls just looking for a little fun here and there post. It's where women for all kinds of reasons might post. Sometimes people are just looking for fun, it's not all about making money. I don't know whether E.C. was meaning the escort section, or just CL in general. If he was meaning in general, then there's lots of women who post ads without numbers OR pics. There are several places you can look for ads of women- the WSM section, the Casual Encounters section, the Escort section. I could see where lots of women would post ads and not post either their number or their pic. Now if you're looking in the escort section alone, then yeah, you might expect a number and/or a pic, but not in the casual encounters or the WSM sections. If I was looking for something discreet with someone like that, I'd focus on the ads without pics or numbers, as those would more than likely be a real woman who just wants to remain anonymous until they actually contact or meet someone. And honestly, when I go to CL, I go there to look through the ads for something for free, just like when I call the party lines. The dropping of local area street names is a nice touch to try and establish credibility but if you asked something that could not be easily found by a google search they would not know the answer.

There is no way they could talk to you on the phone. A male voice in broken english would be a dead giveaway.

These scamsters often operate out of internet cafe's in 3rd world countries.
Dateline did an expose on them.

That being said, there are legit services that some escorts want you to use if you do not have someone to vouch for you.

Here's what I gather from that. First of all, CL is not just where escorts post. It's also where lonely, unsatisfied wives post just looking for something discreet on the side. It's where college girls just looking for a little fun here and there post. It's where women for all kinds of reasons might post. Sometimes people are just looking for fun, it's not all about making money. I don't know whether E.C. was meaning the escort section, or just CL in general. If he was meaning in general, then there's lots of women who post ads without numbers OR pics. There are several places you can look for ads of women- the WSM section, the Casual Encounters section, the Escort section. I could see where lots of women would post ads and not post either their number or their pic. Now if you're looking in the escort section alone, then yeah, you might expect a number and/or a pic, but not in the casual encounters or the WSM sections. If I was looking for something discreet with someone like that, I'd focus on the ads without pics or numbers, as those would more than likely be a real woman who just wants to remain anonymous until they actually contact or meet someone. And honestly, when I go to CL, I go there to look through the ads for something for free, just like when I call the party lines. I've had several encounters with women I've either messaged or gotten messages from off of CL, and have never paid anything.

Well I'm not going to waste a bunch of time going back and researching every real girl I called posting without a number on CL. But to my personal time spent searching it's about a third of the time that they are real in my experience. RJ isn't the only one who researches CL ads and the like. I subscribe to most all forums I make comments in, and get the Memphis forum in my email, and someone there does as much research as RJ does, comparing the ads on different sites and numbers and so forth. Why would anyone think that means he's a cop, or someone trying to take away business from anyone. The way to prove to yourself he's not legitimate is take notes of the same things he does, like numbers and the like, pictures from different sites, and see if they all match up like he says they do. The stuff he finds doesn't affect me any because I'm not going to visit someone who wants huge amounts of money for things I can get free or lots cheaper on the street. I am all for good info, and hell man love your info and everyone says you have some of the best. Regardless of the reasons mug shots can't be posted here, most people who are arrested for SW related crimes are so because they ARE guilty, and we all know that. It's just nice to know what such and such girl might be capable of. This might be RJ's reasoning as to keeping up with numbers which are swapped all the time, is to know what group a girl might be associated with, and if so, might be bad news. He posted in another forum that if you pay a huge amount of money for your time you should get the full time that you paid for, and then what he said got mixed up with another's comments about wanting to come multiple times and the like. Then he got lambasted for those comments. I didn't comment on that because I don't visit those type things, neither do I call the erotic services for CL, but I do frequent CL listings and have a more familiarity with them. Regardless of what service or person I visited, my moneys valuable to me, and I know I'd be upset if I went somewhere and paid 200 for an hour of someone's time and I came in 15 minutes and they started packing up like the time was over. I can find a SW or a girl from a party line or someone who responds to an ad I might place on CL and get the same type experience for way less or even free than going and paying money I don't have to someone who might not even act like they're interested in doing what they're paid for. It's funny, in the Memphis forum they posted a site where porn stars are now advertising their company on half hour or hour rates, most ranging from 1200 to 1800 an hour. To each their own. If I had that kind of money, I'd have as good of a time paying the morning traffic girl on Fox 6, than some porn star who's had enough 'pipe layed into her' as the length of 200 Alaskan Pipelines, lol. Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Just because someone gathers information doesn't mean they're a cop, or they're underhanded or have some ulterior motive at hand. If you don't trust their information, just take it for what you see it as and move on. Even if it's not credible to you, it might actually help you one day.

OK... I've been on the B'ham boards for 10 years. I used to post requently a long time ago back in the days of the ASP newsgroup for anybody that goes back that far. I'm much more UTR now, lurker, and only occasionally throw in my $0.02.

1. You had some good info, and we appreciate most of it.

2. You do not have to respond to every post on the forum. They were not addressed personally to you. And just because you have an opinion on a subject, you don't need to respond publicly. Much of what you wrote fell into the "well, no shit" category. And, much of what you wrote should really have been a Private Message to the original poster.

3. If you MUST comment on multiple posts, please please please summarize and make one large post instead of 20!

That said, welcome to the forum. Please feel free to comment (briefly) whenever you have something of substance to add.

I got Niki on the phone this AM and she was in Tuscallooossa? She will be back up to BHM in the Am and we were gonna set up a date. However my long lost EVA called, the petiet one, as well and although I love a variety, Eva is gonna have to get my time. Niki asked if I wanted to see her friend Stacey, but been there, done that came back for seconds.


I've never been with Stacey. Tried to call her xmas eve and past Sat but didn't get an answer so that's why I called Nikki.

All of this is confusing. There's so many regular members commenting you have to dig back into the posts to see what's all been said. Comments to posts aren't all appearing at the same time, I didn't even see a reply by gpxtreme but saw it running down the email summary I get. Regular members posts have to be approved before they appear, hence the long delay when you post something and when it appears. You have to have at least 25 posts, and be a member for 6 months before you can be a senior member, and if you post things that are hard to read or badly punctuated, you can still be put on moderated senior status as well.

GPX, it doesn't matter what year it is, the same issues are going to show up. As for the comments I've been making about the mug shots elsewhere, I've not been trying to have disagreements, and I've stated as much. Mug shots are an essential tool for helping those of us who visit SW. I'm just trying to get him to see this. Not acting certain ways isn't going to make him allow mug shots. This isn't a power ploy by him to punish misbehavors or something. He just doesn't want them posted, and even if we don't speak out about it he won't change his mind. I said before if he doesn't want them posted then make a rule stating such and lets move on.
