http://www.insidesocal.com/sgvcrime/2008/02/prostitutes_in_the_sgv_busted.html#commentsThe most telling part is where the Asian girl is banging her head against the table. Why the fuck does law enforcement destroy people's lives like this? Sure, it may not be a "normal" lifestyle, but that was the only way she knew how to live.

I am actually from the DC area and there was an educated white woman who worked as an escort from her home. Well, she got busted and suddenly her story was in the newspapers exposing everything about her life.

Before her trial, she committed suicide out of shame.

By the way, this might sound kind of fucked up, but I have no problem with john's getting busted, because let's face it, the government at all levels needs funding.

Traffic tickets, prostitution busts, whereever.

Soliciting a prostitute falls in line with possession or being under the influence of drugs or speeding (non-reckless). People choose to do these things even though it's not needed.

The girls, though. They do this kind of work to survive. To make a living. And to destroy their lives like that is fucked up.

They should probably try arresting gang bangers, murderers, thieves etc. But these people are worse?

Soliciting an act of prostitution (essentially sex between consenting adults, only in this case for money instead of mind games and bullshit) is far different than endangering people's lives by speeding or being under the influence, or possessing certain illegal drugs. Prostitution shouldn't be illegal, but it is, because of a number of social factors I won't go into.

As for the "poor girls, " there are far, far more women in similar or worse circumstances who choose not to sell their bodies. You know, the ones waiting tables, working in retail stores, dental labs and factory jobs. Those women have problems too, including dependent families, no education, no English, no legal residency, etc. Yet, they manage to survive, and they would never in a hundred years choose prostitution as an escape from poverty and hopelessness. Why is that? I don't know, maybe morals? Few prostitutes (at least the SGV ones I frequent) are forced to do that kind of work. That crap about "slavery" is just that, crap. An LE smoke screen to justify their waste of resources (in an attempt to get more federal grant money).

A prostitution/solicitation bust is helluva ordeal for johns and ****** alike. I feel sorry for anyone arrested for this type of "crime, " no matter what their gender, or who is buying and who is selling. And the swaggering cops at these little parties really make me sick, with their smug and condescending speeches before the TV cameras. They really think the public is stupid. Unfortunately, they're right!

They don't go after the gangs, murderers or thieves because they have guns and might shoot back.

Sure local gov't gets a boost out of fines and such, but its usually the edict of homeowners and businesses that pushes for sweeps and raids.

Let's face it, none of us want this kind of activity on our block, so we travel out to the boonies. Don't be so naive thinking laws will change soon or it's unfair or foolish use of manpower. LE is just doing their job. We all know this is risky behavior with serious consequences.

:: Many of these massage parlors are fronts for prostitution, and most of society knows that," Ramirez said. "A lot of times, they are connected with organized crime, embezzlement, extortion, tax evasion and modern-day slavery.I wonder why the prostitution-legal counties in Nevada don't have all of these "related" problems? WAKE UP LE! It's because they're legal, licensed, tax-paying businesses. Flippin' IDIOTS.

Au contraire, Solitaire (sorry, couldn't resist)

Soliciting an act of prostitution (essentially sex between consenting adults, only in this case for money instead of mind games and bullshit) is far different than endangering people's lives by speeding or being under the influence, or possessing certain illegal drugs. Prostitution shouldn't be illegal, but it is, because of a number of social factors I won't go into. That's why I meant non-wreckless speeding. We all are familiar with cops who have nothing better to do but pull over someone going 10 miles over the limit on an empty road. Or a cop purposely hiding to catch someone doing a "California roll" through a STOP sign late at night where one slows down but does not come to a complete stop. Many incidents of possessing or being under the influence of drugs does not affect anyone but the individual himself. Similarly, soliciting a prostitute doesn't really affect anyone.

So I consider them all in the same category in that they are not really "bad" crimes but are indeed a source of revenue. It's no coincidence that the IRS rarely cooperates with ICE or FBI stings involving massage parlors or drug cartels where most of the cash is sent to foreign countries, but are actually the lead investigators for American escort agencies and drug dealers. Oddly enough, the IRS was involved with this one.

After all, the whole Pamela Martin thing started with the IRS.

Looks like you do it because you're an angry, lonely man with a severe case of paranoia.

I am guessing that they allowed someone from the press to ride along. If that is the case, this is no normal bust. Looks like they wanted to send a message...

One thing I keep thinking in seeing the pictures of these busts, is that the female vice cops all look Caucasian. Ever since the Swedish Spa in Pomona closed I have never seen Caucasian women at a massage parlor. My guess is that LE doesn't have many female Asian vice officers. If I ever go to a an unfamiliar MP and see Caucasian women, I'm out of there in a hurry.

For now I think I will stick with places where I recognize the mamasan and she recognizes me. Otherwise, forget it.

I'd like to think that if I walked into a situation like this, my spidey senses would tell me to get the hell out.

Or maybe just pay for a back rub, keep my shorts on, and make the pigs earn their keep. :)

Cardinal Rule: Obey the Spidey Senses

The first approach might piss them off or trigger a chase response where they will at least harass you, interview you for the damn information card, etc.

The second approach is more likely to get you an apology.

And don't forget that although they may not have asian vice officers doesn't mean they won't use asian decoys.

They used the decoy according to the place they bust. For Whittier, it is mostly Latina, so the decoy were all Latina or brunette. What we can all said from this bust is that if the provider is too clean or too innocent like your girl next door type of face, becareful.

One other things that us monger should remember is that these vice squard have some type of massage training so that they can give a massage otherwise they afraid we might sue them. If a chick is too good to be true and give good massage, it probably too good too be true.

Also, I believe that on the first visit, it is better to TOFTT instead of expecting service. Like previous poster said, let get to know the mamsan face first and the provider first. This way, if you see different mamasan and provider than it is time to call it off.

I have been very fortunate to not be caught up in any busts so far. Several years ago I was at a place in Korea Town and pounding away with my ATF provider when the lights suddenly flashed. This must have been a pre arranged signal, since the provider pulled away, jumped up and told me to hurry hurry get dressed and if anyone came around to pretend I was waiting for the massage to begin. She also got dressed and left the room.

I sat there for a while with the condom in my pocket and thinking I was in a really bad situation until she came back and said it was a false alarm. Apparently a fire truck or police car or some emergency vehicle went past and the mamasan panicked.

I was shook up, but not too shook up to finish the pleasant task at hand.

What I mean is if they are not certified masseue and they give you one, they can be liable if you choose to sue with a good lawyer. This is what they charge those girl or mamasan for hiring a non-license cmt

This is what they charge those girl or mamasan for hiring a non-license cmtMany States have for years have been handing out Felony charges for Massaging without a license with prostitution being only a misdemeanor. Reason being that Massage is considered health care, and providing health care without a license is a felony

http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/jan/28/tampa-police-sex-offered-unlicensed-massage-parlor/?news-metro

and of course with the death of Heath Ledger their making a big deal out of it http://www.usmagazine.com/who_was_heath_ledgers_masseuse?page=1&live=1

Health care is health care and if a cop gives a massage the same must apply

This is what they charge those girl or mamasan for hiring a non-license cmtI'm not trying to give you a hard time, but I still can't believe you are being serious in this discussion. Here's the deal:

A male cop will put his hands all over a girl, and sometimes (though rarely) even "do the deed" with her, then bust her. A female cop will never touch your pervy body with even one finger, much less give you a massage. Once you are in the room she will just start trying to get you to make a solicitation.

"Do you want everything, baby? How much tip will you give me?"

If you don't bite, the cops will either bust you anyway and lie about it, or chase your ass out of there. No way in hell would they let one of their lady oinkers make physical contact with a monger. Cops receiving massage training? Puh-leez! Half the providers out there don't even do that!
