I think your safety question is a fair one. The area you were in is not the greatest by any means.
Believe it or not you can get shot or mugged ANYWHERE that you're not the only person there. But to address your concerns, are SWs generally known to hang out in the safest, most well patrolled areas? Maybe you should get into MPs or high class escorts so you and your Beamer will be safe.
Seems like cicero ave has picked back up. I stoped cruising cicero ave because action was so few and far.
And for the safety question of the area around cicero and division area, dont get out of your car in that area,its rough. Actually on cicero from about armitage south to about archer on the south side is rough.

This happened a couple of months ago. I would've reported sooner, but I've been out of commission for awhile. Plus, I don't want Uncle putting heat on this girl.
It was raining at about 10pm, and I was driving west on Devon past Clark. I passed under the bridge and I saw this girl on the other side of the street. I was really surprised when she gave me the look. I'd never seen a SW around there; I'd seen girls who I thought were, but didn't get any play. Years back there would always be a pretty decent lady out on Roosevelt on the west side of Austin. They were always a little above average and I was surprised to see them in the Oak Park area. They would always linger on the south side & be pretty sneaky about it.

Woman Charged With Stealing Chicago Police Car
A west suburban Cicero woman was charged with stealing an unmarked Chicago police car Friday morning in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The vehicle was stolen about 10:45 a.m. in the 4700 block of South Cicero Avenue, according to police News Affairs officer David Banks.
{name omitted by poster}, 27, of {address omitted by poster} Ct., was arrested Friday at 11:23 a.m. at her home and charged with possession of a stolen law enforcement vehicle, a felony, according to a police report.
Cook County Judge Ramon Ocasio III set Hayes' bond at $25,000 during a Saturday hearing, a court spokesman said.
She was also cited with driving while her license was revoked, negligent driving and solicitation of a ride on a roadway, and charges were approved at 7:57 p.m. Friday, according to the report.
Hayes was placed into custody after she was found hiding behind the basement apartment's bathroom door and being positively identified as the woman who escaped arrest by officers for soliciting prostitution and fleeing in an unmarked police vehicle, according to the report.
Hayes told officers where the car was and it was found with damage, according to the report. Banks said Cicero police found the vehicle.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
For everyone who keeps on mentioning Tom Dart cleaning up the streets remember a lot of the stings are conducted by the CPD. Now Tom Dart is the Sheriff of Cook County. Yes, he will conduct stings sometimes and usually those are in the area of Cook County that is not run by the CPD. In fact most of his stings that he does involves the Craigslist and busting the women in the adult section there, or placing a fake ad in the Craigslist to lure guys in that they can bust. But with that being said the cleaning of the streets has been done mostly by the CPD and not Tom Dart.
Do think Da Mayor would let the money from all of the impounded cars go to the county and not the city? Any hotel that has a 3 hr rate should do just call one of them in your area to see the rates.
Azil_ the motel you are referring to is the Shamrock just south of 290 on cicero. It probably has the same rate as the place further down which is $40 for 4 hours.

I quess it depends on where you do your cruising. Cook County Sheriff patrols heavily in Melrose Park and Franklin Park where some guys go when they are at Bobby's or Carl's or Oasis. Actually according to an attorney it is not lawful that they impound your vehicle, and from what I have seen on CBS they tend to mess it up when they do tow it, usually some damage. Don't know why CBS would get sued for that story, but I am quite sure somebody on the Cicero PD lost their job for that one.

Got off 90 onto 47th, went west until Cicero, north past 290 and then east on North Ave. Then south on Pulaski then west on Division. Then north again on Cicero. Went east on Fullerton to then got on 90 to get back to work.

But in my experience, if it seems dead, it is because LEO is or was out in force in that area. LE seems to target an area for on e or two nights, and when he does, it is best to stay away. When they do this, you will usually see the new, marked SUVs. It seems to be some kind of high visibility intimidation tactic. If you see a couple of these vehicles, move to another section of the city.
I have seen both North Avenue and 47th street absolutely hopping on one night, and dead as Kelso's nuts the next. Usually because of weather or LEO.

This is a fairly late post, since i did not get the opportunity meaning required "wsg" time to post this. Early last week, decided to jump on to Cicero from 290 and head North, saw a decent looking WSW not too far away by a gas station, decided to turn around and head to the station, pulled in and stared at her, pulled up ahead in the station itself. Well I was out on the prowl last night midnight to 3AM just to see what was out there. It was somewhat dead until 1am as it must have been a SW convention on Cicero between 5th and I290 as it had to be at least 15 girls out on that stretch alone. This girl has got to be trying to go to jail! I work all shifts in a month and she is out there behind the wall at keating and 47th. The white wall behind starbucks. So last night around 2-3:30 I was driving around and It was completely completely dead. I wouldn't say it is easy. Traffic is at a standstill most of the time on North, which makes it incredibly difficult to maneuver around to get to one. And the price is usually $100, from what I recall. And you are correct, you do have to differentiate between club-goers and streetwalkers.

But the public may know them better as johns. And far too often, former prostitutes and their advocates say, they're getting away with their crimes.
"I went to jail, and he didn't," said former prostitute LaTaunya Frazier, 39, who was caught with a john. "I never really understood that because we're both committing the crime. If he wasn't buying, I wouldn't be selling. I never thought that was fair. ... They get to go home to their families, their wives, and no one knows what they did."
Johns and pimps are severely underrepresented on arrest logs, but starting Thursday, reform advocates will push for an overhaul of state law to give police departments the resources to go after leaders and customers of prostitution rings. They also want prostitutes to be eligible for protections and benefits afforded to victims of sex trafficking because many of the women suffer from the same elements of recruitment, harboring and force.
The belief is that by holding the men accountable who are fueling the demand for the sex trade -- and by helping the women escape it -- prostitution would plummet.
"What we're doing right now does not work. And we don't need a Rhodes scholar or a rocket scientist to tell us it does not work," said Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, whose office presides over a special prostitution intervention team. "The general public opinion on this is not in step with everything we know about this issue, and that really needs to be challenged and changed."
The campaign, called End Demand, is being watched by reform groups across the country. It has the backing of the Chicago Police Department, the Cook County sheriff's office and the women's-rights group NoVo Foundation, which invested $550,000 in the effort. NoVo is led by Warren Buffet's son Peter and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer.
"We thought, 'Wow, if Illinois can do this, what a model for the country, and even the rest of the world,'" said Jennifer Buffett, who will speak at a panel presentation about the campaign Thursday.
Advocates want to increase penalties for pimps and johns, create a statewide database that would track the arrests of prostitution-related offenders and encourage law-enforcement agencies to work together in prosecuting prostitution-related crimes. They also want to reflect in state law that a prostituted individual is a victim, said Samir Goswami, policy director for the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation.
"If you treat her as a victim and offer her services and support, it's less likely she will [return to prostitution]," he said. "And that's the shift in our law that we are advocating for."
According to Goswami, johns account for 25 percent of the 4,000 to 5,000 annual prostitution-related arrests in the city. Pimps represent less than 1 percent of those arrested, advocates say.
In the Chicago area alone, studies have shown that between 16,000 and 25,000 women and girls are involved in the sex trade, many of whom travel across city and county lines. Some of the women start out as runaways, while others are introduced or coerced into the lifestyle by family members or boyfriends.
One former prostitute, who called herself Ashley while working the streets on the West Side, said her 24-year-old boyfriend asked her to turn her first trick when she was 15. As a runaway, she felt she had no choice.
"I said I could do it this one time," said the woman, now 19. "I got really sad. I started crying. That's how it all started. I didn't have any help, so I did it out of survival."
Advocates say that once girls and women enter prostitution, it's even more difficult to get out. Felony prostitution convictions on their records make it difficult to find jobs; abusive pimps scare them from leaving.
"Many of these women see the [pimps] as their intimate partners. They're coerced, raped, and they're sold," said Leslie Landis, director of the Mayor's Office on Domestic Violence, which oversaw a 2006 prostitution study. "Violence is sometimes used against them. Taken as a whole, it's just an advanced stage of domestic violence."

Question, do you guys pay SW's upfront? I do, but I have been hearing some horror stories.
You usually gotta give them something to start. More or less to get the comfort level going, because I often give them just 1/2 of what they ask for and then the rest+tip if they finish. Don't give them anything at all until you have parked your car at the spot of your choosing. Losses come in this hobby, so you can expect to get a run-off once in a while. That is why 1/2 works best for me. If they bolt, I can usually take the hit for $20. Wish me luck, looking to put these tips into practice tonight!
Well, last night I was out and about and saw not much on Cicero around Roosevelt and north of there. But I did see a few scraggly looking skinny SW's on 47th near Cicero. Also, it seems that there are a lot of stings on North between Hamlin and Pulaski lately. Every time I've driven North between Kedzie and Cicero, I always see at least one SW. One skinny WSW gave me the look and almost made a move to get in my car despite the fact that there were two squads parked not 50 feet away! I had to shake her off.
I've seen some decent looking talent just east of Pulaski, but again, warning bells sounded. I didn't see Uncle or any uc like the homeless guy might have been, but some of the girls just won't move off the corner. I don't care how hot they are, if they don't move, I ain't pickin' 'em up.
I have always found it best not to go against my gut. If you didn't see any undercover cars it means they were doing their job correctly. It doesn't matter how hot they are, if they don't move from the corner, and it doesn't matter how hot they are if it costs you a day in court, an impound bill of over $600 and another $1000 for a lawyer, plus probation and fines.
Stay safe and don't ingore the red flags.

Was driving on Cicero at 6:00-6:30 pm this evening (Wednesday) from Midway to 47th, turned right on 47th to about Kedzie, then turned back around and headed back south on Cicero.
While heading east on 47th, saw a possible bsw heading west. (She was not dressed like a typical sw, but she did seem to be giving the look to oncoming traffic). She was ok, but not special enough for me to go after.
(I rarely pick up sw's, as I prefer asian AMPS and apts. I realize that the price can be cheaper with sw's, but my comfort level is much higher at the other places, so I pay the higher rate for the added comfort level. Still, I occasionally drive around and look. I only consider going after them if I really think they are hot.)
On the way back, as I was approaching Cicero, I saw her again, but again decided not to go after her.
I turned left on Cicero, and saw a hotter bsw walking south, just past the MacDonalds. I looped back around on 48th street, back up to 47th street, then back down Cicero. (As I turned right on Cicero, the same girl I saw twice on 47th was crossing Cicero and gave me a "hey baby" as I drove near hear.) Interestingly enough, there were 3-4 other cars that also turned right on 48th street and looped back towards Cicero. As I headed south on Cicero, there she was about a block or two down from where I saw here the first time, near the Walgreens. I looped back around again, and had a good chuckle when I saw the same cars I saw the first time make a similar loop.
Clearly, there was quite a bit of competition for this girl, so I just bowed out of the composition and drove away. Maybe it was a few of you that were looping around with me. As I said before, this was around 6:30 pm, on Cicero between 47th and 50th. The girl was wearing short black shorts and had fairly long black hair. If one of you on this board did wind up hooking up with her, can you tell me if she frequently strolls that area at around that time? Either on this thread or through a PM would be good.

The only problem I have with you using Spitzer as an example is that he is one of us. He is a big time politician with more money than us and a much lesser chance of ending up in jail. But he is still one of us, so I would pick better examples of which to make fun.

Yes. I know dozens of ladies going back many years. More and more have been getting felony upgrades that ever before. I know several long time girls who finally got out of street business due to getting stint after stint in Dwight. The push is on though to get the mongerers. I have two friends who got nailed and it cost them plenty, including having to spend a day at some program called Amends at Madison & California AND having to pay for it on top of the towed vehicle and bond.

Picked up Amber tonight at the corner of Cicero & Fullerton. This would be Harding. Pimp was parked between Harding & Springfield on North Ave as they worked the strip between Pulaski and Hamlin. He had the seat all the way back as he watched.

Alright guys I have been lurking for awhile and mongering without posting so I think its me turn to contribute. So I went to to Arnies and didn't see anything I really wanted to go for so I hit the streets. First I hit 47th and there wasn't any too great out. Just a couple of large/old WSW's. Then I headed north on Cicero Ave and saw a couple of BSW's by the 290 but I refuse to pick up BSW's as one pulled a knife on me and stabbed my seat and navi. I turned left across from that restaurant all the BSW's hang out at just before the 290 and headed toward the bread plant or whatever.
