Downloading Messages

Up until now I have been downloading my messages as a text file and doing lots of tedious cut and paste to make sense of the whole thing. It occurs to me that there has to be a better way to accomplish the same results, without all the fucking cutting and pasting, so I went ahead and downloaded in XML, thinking that I could copy and paste into my editor and come out with something resembling the format on the site. But no, It wasn't to be.

Any suggestions?

Never had any luck with the XML either.

I am fairly certain that I have to add a style sheet to the initial output.
This will begin to make sense eventually. I hope.
