Why does no one ever talk about the girls in Waikiki. There are some stunning, some waaay to expensive etc.
No one ever talks about any of them. I spoke to a local a week ago and he told me that all worked for 1 of 2. Managers

In my opinion, the reason that relatively few Honolulu hobbyists report on Waikiki streetwalkers is that Waikiki streetwalkers generally have a reputation for high prices and unsatisfactory service.
I was just cruzing past longs and seen a girl name Kai. Asian looking. Any info on her? I was thinking of picking her up later in the week.
Previously I met a young streetwalker named Kai working in the Longs area, but to me she looked more hapa haole than "Asian," so I don't know if she is the same Kai that you observed. First let me say I do not wish to argue or anger anyone. If we all turn our heads to this kind of activity SW'S might as well get raped all the time. First off, I think all of us here are on the side of the girls. They work for so cheap; there is no need to use force to get anything that you want. Just think it up, pay the price and enjoyBut lets be realistic about this. The disenfranchised do not have, police protection. Hookers cannot file a report; they cannot sue in civil court. Hookers do not call the police. The cops might find paraphernalia on her, and then she is in real trouble. Even if working and drugs were de-criminalized. Under the watchful eye of law enforcement in 40 states, Craigslist pledged Thursday to crack down on ads for prostitution on its Web sites.
As part of Craigslist's agreement with attorneys general around the country, anyone who posts an "erotic services" ad will be required to provide a working phone number and pay a fee with a valid credit card. The Web site will provide that information to law enforcement if subpoenaed.
Jim Buckmaster, Craigslist's CEO, said the deal will allow legitimate escort services to continue advertising, while providing a strong disincentive to companies that are conducting illegal business.
"We don't view it as a penalty, we view it as raising the accountability," he said. "A legitimate business should have no problem with that. They should have no problem providing a phone number or credit card credentials."
Craigslist filed lawsuits this week against 14 software and Internet companies that help people who post erotic service ads to circumvent the Web site's defenses against inappropriate content and illegal activity.
Craigslist, which posts 30 million ads every month for everything from apartment rentals to jobs in hundreds of cities, will also begin using new search technology in an effort to help authorities find missing children and victims of human trafficking.
Police across the country have been arresting people for using Web sites like Craigslist to advertise the sexual services of women and children.
Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who brokered the agreement, said his office contacted Craigslist after receiving several complaints from users late in 2007 about photographs depicting nudity on the site. He said Craigslist cooperated fully and there was never a need to threaten legal action against the company.
"The dark side of the Internet must be stopped from eclipsing its immense potential for good," Blumenthal said.
He added: "I am fully convinced that Craigslist wants to stop this activity as much as we do."
Buckmaster said the agreement does not cover Craigslist's personal ads, where prostitutes have been found advertising for "dates." But he said the San Francisco-based company has been working with authorities on that issue and on cutting down on the sale of stolen merchandise on its sites.
"We are experimenting with telephone verification in those sections," he said. "We don't have any plans to use credit card verification in that section currently. But this partnership is going to be active in that area as well, anywhere where crime does or could occur."
The agreement was joined by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
"The criminals engaged in the sexual trafficking of children no longer parade them on the streets of America's cities," said the center's chief executive, Ernie Allen. "Today, they market them via the Internet."
The states that signed the agreement are Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. It's also possible that you did make it sufficiently clear to her, and she then dishonestly and unilaterally changed the deal. Unfortunately, there are some downtown streetwalkers who may behave in that manner. After a downtown street hobbyist accumulates years of trial-and-error experience, it becomes easier to identify streetwalkers with that type of bad attitude (from observation/interviewing) and avoid dating them. Your report is valuable because it provides useful information to other downtown hobbyists about that particular streetwalker.

Feel like I'm in the club now that I officialy had my first rob experience.

I don't really say much till we're back then suddenly she doesn't want to get out until I pay her the $30. For a second I had to think about it, then I realized that she was literally out of her mind. I told her I'd give her $10 for her time (to be fair. It had been an hour. Not much you can do. If you're out in dt long enough, it will happen to you a bunch of times. Happened to me numerous times. All they want is some $ for their time but nothing went down so you feel you shouldnt give them $. But sometimes you just have to fork over 20 bucks or something just to avoid the troubles. Some of them carry a knife in their purse so just not worth the hassles if you know what I mean. Just chalk it up and avoid next time. Sometimes you find one that is cool at that time but maybe next time she is high and all f-d up and is a ***** so you never can tell. Just part of the territory I guess.

Ripoff attempts are quite an interesting subject. During my years as a downtown hobbyist, I've sometimes encountered ripoff attempts (although fortunately not recently). In my experience, the ripoff attempts were not only by providers (or non-providers) who made a deal and then refused to provide any service, but also by those who sought to change the deal to do less than already agreed upon (for the same amount of money) and those who arrogantly demanded to be paid when a deal could not be reached (in other words, demanding to be paid merely for riding in my vehicle and discussing a potential deal). Depending on the circumstances, over the years I've taken two approaches to such ripoff attempts.
The first approach is to pay the thief. Of course, that is the easier and safer approach, but it can make a hobbyist feel like a victim and a loser. In addition, paying a thief definitely encourages more ripoff attempts, because then the ripoff was successful for the thief. When I have paid, I've tried to pay a lesser amount than the amount demanded by the thief. Sometimes that wasn't difficult because the thief wanted to use the money to quickly buy a drug, and every minute the thief would waste arguing over the amount of money meant more delay for the thief in obtaining the desired drug. At times, however, a thief can be adamant about obtaining the full amount of money demanded. In that case, depending upon the situation, I've sometimes tried to use a display of anger (including profanity) -- and even create the impression that I may become violent -- to intimidate a thief into accepting a lesser amount of money. That can work, but not always. Some thieves aren't easily intimidated if, for example, they are crazy, or high on ice or crack, or armed with a weapon, or have a cellphone to call a pimp, boyfriend or someone else.
The second approach is to refuse to pay anything if the thief hasn't performed any sexual services. That approach can be difficult and dangerous, but it can provide a hobbyist with the satisfying and empowered feeling that he refused to be ripped off. It can also strongly demonstrate to the thief that not every hobbyist is willing to be a victim. Of course, if a hobbyist refuses to pay anything, the thief may refuse to leave the hobbyist's vehicle and may even physically attack the hobbyist (as happened to me several times in the past). In that event, the hobbyist's objective should be to remove the thief from his vehicle at a location where there are no people or as few people as possible, and then leave the area as quickly as possible. Sometimes the thief can be removed from the vehicle merely by a display of anger and profanity, and by creating the impression that the hobbyist could become violent, but at other times the thief may have to be physically removed from the vehicle.
Not surprisingly, there are dangers involved in doing that: for example, a witness may call the police to report a disturbance (especially if the thief starts yelling); the thief may produce a weapon; or the thief may damage the hobbyist's vehicle. In the past, when I was younger and more hot tempered, I successfully executed several physical ejections and extractions of thieves from my vehicle. However, more recently I've refrained from that approach because of the potential adverse consequences.
By the way, in your situation, are you absolutely sure that this person was a genuine female, or might there at least be a possibility that "she" was also dishonest about her real gender? The reason I ask is because the person was "larger" and "Polynesian looking," had a "Samoan sounding" name, was located at night "near Papa John's" (where mahus are often present), and threatened to tell a friend whom you thought was probably a mahu. Mahus can be even more bold and dangerous than women in attempting ripoffs.
Anyway, consider yourself fortunate that in this case you were only ripped off for $10. It could have potentially been worse.

I'd have to say that I've never run into this situation before so they are rare. I'd encourage you to at least try it. Anyone thinking about possessing a gun in his vehicle should carefully check the strict requirements of the Hawaii firearms laws. Otherwise, that can result in a felony conviction (even if the gun wasn't used to do anything).
Very wise advice. I used to pack all the time when mongering. Not that I thought of using it on a SW. It was more for protection in case someone wanted to mess with me while parked. This was when I was younger and more hot-headed of course and had a lot less to lose. Hawaii Laws suck regarding firearms and while having the gun in your car may make you feel better, the consequences outweigh the need IMHO. Hawaii is far safer than mainland cities and as long as you use good judgement you shouldn't need it. Besides, for those of you thinking you can just pull it on someone in your car, you might want to think that through. In such close quarters, you won't have much of an advantage unless that person is so intimidated by the weapon that they comply. If you do use it in the car, it'll make a huge mess, you'll go deaf for at least 30 seconds and you'll have permanent hearing damage(that numb ringing sensation is not cool). All this on top of drawing all the wrong kinds of attention to yourself. Not so bad if you are in a stolen vehicle IF you can get away but then you are constantly at risk of being pulled over and arrested for Grand Theft, plus the weapons charges. Keeping it in a locked, hidden compartment in the trunk complies more with the law but then you have to find some explaination of how you were on your way home from your business or a firing range if you do get caught. Also watch those high-cap mags, if they are in the weapon, it is a felony. If you have the high-caps out of the weapon, it's a misdemeanor. Knowning those technicalities can save you a lot of legal hassles and potentially make the difference between you going to jail or getting probation.

Yes, I've also experienced that type of Jekyll/Hyde situation at various times over the years, and it's been related to the drug use and/or mental illness of the providers involved. Sometimes it can be completely unexpected. For example, once I was inside my vehicle with a downtown provider I had known for years without any problems, but on that night we were unable to agree about the price while discussing a potential date. I calmly said that I would drop her off and talk with her on some other night. In response, she exploded with anger, started shouting, and punched me in the head (fortunately with no injury). Subsequently she apologized, explaining that the incident had occurred because of a drug binge that had lasted for several days.

She didn't find my ids and the real money I had stashed away on the side.
On occasion, I'd actually pick up the girl and ask them what kind of donations they are looking for. If the price is right, I usually tell them I gotta hit a ATM. I'll then proceed to drive them to a bank, keep an eye on them in the car while I grab the cash or use that drive up to ATM near the Motor Vehicle Registration place on Dillingham, near HCC. Regarding the responses to my post about the option of a hobbyist resisting an armed robbery by slamming on the brakes and disarming the robber:
(1) Of course, I agree that it's both easier and safer to give the armed robber some amount of money and not resist. That avoids the possibility of various adverse consequences. However, depending upon the circumstances, a hobbyist might decide that he's not going to be a victim and that he's not going to give the robber an incentive (money) to rob other hobbyists. Please note, I'm not recommending either resistance or non-resistance. The choice depends upon the specific hobbyist and the particular facts involved.
(2) Personally, I have no sympathy for an armed robber who is injured while trying to rob me or a brother hobbyist.
(3) An armed robber may not be wearing a seat belt, especially one who wants to make a quick getaway and/or is affected by drug use. Even if the armed robber is wearing a seat belt and the seat belt restrains the robber from hitting the dashboard, giving the robber a strong, abrupt and unexpected physical jolt by slamming on the brakes can make it easier to disarm the robber.
(4) My post was based on personal experience. Years ago, I picked up a downtown streetwalker (or purported streetwalker) who seemed relatively normal before she entered my vehicle. However, once inside my vehicle, she quickly became loud, strange and aggressive. It seemed that she was intoxicated by some drug and/or alcohol. So I calmly told her that I would let her off at the same place where I had met her. She demanded money from me and I refused, pointing out that we hadn't done anything and that she had been in my vehicle for just a few minutes. She became enraged, removed a bottle of liquor from her bag, began swinging it around inside my vehicle, and threatened to smash me with it. I reacted by slamming on the brakes, pitching her forward into the dashboard. That enabled me to grab the bottle of liquor from her and hurl it out the window. That angered her even more. So I quickly reached over and opened the passenger-side door (being hit a few times in the process), shoved her out, and drove off.
It would have been safer and easier to just give her the money, but I did feel a sense of satisfaction at resisting the armed robbery and demonstrating that not every hobbyist is willing to be a victim. Again, I'm not suggesting that either resistance or non-resistance is preferable in any specific situation, but merely providing an example where slamming on the brakes and resisting was successful.

I have picked up girls on the street and changed my mind after a closer look. Either they were stoned, drunk, smelly, or just unattractive up close. While most times, I just find an excuse, like, "oh, I just thought you wanted a ride", or " I thought you were someone I knew. You look her her", may get them out, I had girls grab a backpack or other items in my car and run out with it, or refuse to leave unless I gave them money for their time. One even grabbed my car keys.
My advice is to just give them $10 and say sorry for the misunderstanding. Much cheaper than loosing bags, keys or getting dents in your car. Not worth the risk of injury or attracting LE. Just my 3 cents.

Recently I haven't noticed an abnormal lack of streetwalkers downtown at night, but there might be none available at any particular time because of the usual "ebb and flow" of streetwalkers. If there are none on South Kukui and North Kukui, a hobbyist may want to try looking on other streets such as Nuuanu, Maunakea, River, Aala, Beretania, Pauahi and Smith. Never know where a stray streetwalker, part-timer or semi-pro might be spotted. Another idea is to take some time off to shop at Safeway or Longs, or eat at Zippy's, etc., and then resume the hunt later when conditions may have changed.
