Escort industry prominent in the OJ Simpson hearing

Walter Alexander, one of OJ Simpson's henchmen for the alleged Las Vegas robbery, took a plea bargain and is testifying against Simpson. Simpson's lawyer, Yale Galanter, has been trying to undermine Alexander's credibility. Galanter suggested that Alexander has worked as a pimp. Two men who said they carried guns into a hotel room to help O.J. Simpson reclaim sports memorabilia testified yesterday that Simpson had asked them to “get heat” ahead of time.

Walter Alexander and Michael McClinton testified at Simpson’s preliminary hearing after reaching plea bargains with prosecutors, CNN reports. The hearing will determine whether Simpson should stand trial for armed robbery, kidnapping and other felony charges in connection with the Sept. 13 incident.

McClinton said that as he entered the hotel room, Simpson ordered him to “show them your weapon and look menacing,” the Washington Post reports.

Alexander testified that Simpson later told him to deny that any guns were used. On cross-examination, Alexander was asked about an online prostitution business identified as “LA Sweet Sarah.” Alexander said [Name deleted by Admin] ran the business.

On cross-examination, defense attorney Yale Galanter attacked Alexander's credibility on the witness stand and suggested that he shaded his testimony against Simpson to gain leniency and ultimately profit from the case.

Galanter asked Alexander about his involvement in a Web site myprivategeisha.com. Alexander said he knows the operator of the site but has no other involvement.

As prosecutors tried to object to that line of questioning, Galanter shot back: "He lied under oath, he's a pimp!" To Alexander, he said: "You forgot to tell them [police] you are a pimp."

Alexander denied that he ever sold sex.

On cross-examination, Simpson's lawyers made few inroads against McClinton but did painful damage to Alexander. The Arizona man insisted that his primary concern in pleading to a felony was maintaining his real estate license.

"Well, you've sold other things in your life other than real estate, haven't you?" asked defense attorney Yale Galanter.

"Cars. Jet Skis," Alexander said.

"Have you ever sold flesh?" Galanter shot back.

The witness denied it, but after being confronted with Web addresses, e-mails and online photo catalogues of prostitutes, he insisted that the business was really run by [Name deleted by Admin], identified as "LA Sweet Sarah."

The two told Simpson they were going home to change but proceeded, first, to Fox's Spy Outlet, where they bought a tiny video camera.

"Were you planning on selling this?" a prosecutor asked.

"There was that remote possibility," Alexander said.

McClinton testified differently. He said Alexander -- who admitted on the stand to "taking the pictures" for an Internet prostitution service he testified is run by [Name deleted by Admin] -- "wanted to film O.J. Simpson, ah, having some fun at the party," McClinton said.
