I hung up on him as I did not have time to play any games. He called back 3-4 more times and I answerd again and he stated because I hung up on him it is now a class 2 felony. I again told him that I did not know what he was talking about and asked him where he was calling from and he stated downtown Memphis. I told him I was at work and did not have time for this and he stated that he would be at my work to arrest me. I never got a chance to ask him his name, badge number supervisor, etc.
I searched the phone number and there are several other adds with the same dates in Pittsburgh, San Diego, Rochester, Tampa, Delaware and teh list goes on.
Now, several of you are laughing right now and I know why. There is nothing wrong with making a phone call. I did not want to get into an argument with this person over what is or is not soliciting; I know there has to be a discussion of services, a commitment to perform an illegal act, and sometimes a financial transaction before any charges.. I of course did not make the call and there is no proof who made the call. Second, solicitation is a misdemeanor, not a felony.Third, this person has no way of knowing who I am, nor where I work. I found this amusing at first and then thought of Extortion.
Either way, this put a little joy in my day and hope you enjoyed reading.

Well, you both seem to appreciate the kind of equipment I use. No, I'm not a professional photographer ... professionals get paid ... lol. Photography is just something I've done for over 40 years now ... call me a very serious hobbyist. Yes, it's some serious $$$ for that camera. I don't take it just anywhere. I've also got a 20D that I use for a backup and have also considered a 7D which I might do just yet and give the 20D to my granddaughter as she's become quite the budding photographer at the ripe old age of 10!
Glockman, the 1DS doesn't have a built in flash. I'm using separate studio type strobes (Alien Bees). With Sarah I was using two of those shot through Photoflex softboxes. When I shoot with Sarah she can be all over the place (literally) sometimes and I have to remind her that every time she moves she makes dramatic changes in pose I have to readjust the lights. lol...she has gotten better. She's a lot of fun to work with because I did the first really serious shots for her. She's come a long way in modeling from that first session. :) (The attached photo is from that very first shoot we did)

I have used the Canon EOS XSi and it is a fine camera, goes for around $650, but you can probably find if for less with a little research. I have also seen Canon EOS XS at Walmart for about $450. I started out with a Nikon F 40 years ago and went with a Nikon for my DSLR, a Nikon D5000. Other Nikon entry levels DSLRs are pretty good, i.e., a D40 or D3000. You can look at them at Best Buy. Depending on the lens combination, they will set you back between $500-800.

That's a tough question to really answer because there are so many variables. What is it you like to shoot? Landscapes, sports, portrait, general snapshots. I've seen folks with rigs costing thousands and their photo's aren't as good as my grand daughter with her little Nikon point and shoot. In fact her's are pretty darn good.
I don't shop for my gear at Best Buy or places like that. They're into bundling items. Like here on the board, you do your homework and decide what features you need. I shop for most of my gear at B&H photo out of NY. Have used them for 20 years or more.
Now I will say... camera bodies get outdated, newer features ..etc. Good glass (the lenses) however will be around a long time. Don't skimp on the lenses, buy the best you can (reasonably) afford. You can always upgrade the body later. A great deal of my gear is at the pro grade. I certainly didn't get there overnight. Like I said, I've been doing this for over 40 years. While my gear currently is Canon, I would have no reservations about shooting with Nikon. In my film days ... I had an F2 and F3 which served me for many many years. When I made the switch to digital, Canon just had more of the things I was looking for. That has since changed. If I was starting now, it would be a tough choice. They're both great companies.

I probably could not handle the big Canon that Hunyguy uses. I went with the Nikon D5000 because it fit my hand perfectly. The top of the line Nikon D90 did not. You can only do this by handling the cameras yourself, preferably without a salesman breathing down your neck. Take your time in making your choice and then order from a reputable dealer.

Personally, I won't do a room in my name, ever, and I don't have a fake ID. There have been a few providers I have passed on for this very reason. Not to mention that I'm paying their rate and then paying another $50+ hotel cost for a room I only need for an hour. I'm sure not everyone looks at it that way, but I know at least a few do.
My opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it...

Once hobbiest see the quality you say you have then you could go back to the donation that you set and feel comfortable with. Then again its just IMHO of course. CD2's right . . . there's nothing wrong with having an "advertised" donation that's higher than the going rate, but unless folks KNOW that you provide better than the usual fare, no one's going to give that amount. Knowledge of the quality of your services will only come from reviews, and the problem is, no one's going to make the jump and TOFTT at a donation rate that's significantly higher than the average rate in this town (which I would pin at somewhere between $1.8 - $2 -- again, that's just an average). The risk is too high to justify any reward.
Many well-respected providers have high 'published' rates but run specials to allow folks access to them. One of my ATF providers generally asked $4 but agreed to see me the first time for a reduced donation. We ultimately saw each other several times at a rate that was less than her usual advertised donation but more than I paid the first time. She always understood that she got more donation from me over the long haul by reducing her rate than by sticking to her higher rate (and therefore preventing me from ever seeing her).
This is of course up to the individual provider. But the economic truth is you'll almost always get more business with competitive pricing than you will with 'marketing.'

No offense but being a provider for many years the number one rule is for working girls with children NEVER work out of the same place your children live at!!!! Feedback please!It all depends on how you advertise. Generally if the provider says something like "extra donation for fetishes" that suggests to guys that there are some limitations on what your rate covers (and that there are services that the provider is willing to do for an additional cost).
But if the provider advertises a "GFE" or "I do it all" or something like that without mentioning an additional donation, then I take it to mean that one rate covers everything that the provider is willing to do.

The reason for making the ad the way I did was simply because I realize I'm not the most beautiful girl on the site. I just thought peep would like to know that the money is going to help me pay bills and provide a life for us and not going to be given to a "manager".
