What about Prospect and troost?Prospect is not bad up by the Ave. but gets worse on south. Troost is the worst of it. Rips offs and SWs that look like dudes. I have never seen anything down there worth stopping for.

Went down the ave tonight and saw more cops than people. So, I decided to cruise the bottoms and found a car with a guy and a possible WSW in it parked in the same spot it had been parked in for a couple of days now. This makes me nervous. Not only can I not see who the SW is I do not know who she is with. Don't like this at all.
Then, there were several 'gentlemen' a block away, around the corner, just standing around and looking at me strongly as I drove past. What was that all about?

I will be visiting St. Joe MO is two weeks.
Can anyone tell me where the "strip" type area is in St. Joe? I mean the place where hookers (street walkers) are in the area.

What's the deal with the Askew Inn across from the Apple Market on Independence? All this time I've thought it was a motel with a bar/restaurant in front, but the other day a girl mentioned the name and she pronounced it as "Ask You In" (rather than "asKEW") and I realized it was a pun name and was not a motel at all.
Anyone ever been there?

Of course, it's all about the perceived "problem" of SW's and what some people are trying to do about it. (Funny how only mention Indepedence Ave.) I would like to know how much the pitch paid this woman to tell her story, and how much of it she embellishes. Don't misunderstand me, I know that it can be a hard life and that many SW's have drug addiction and/or are homeless. But come on, no one if forcing them to do this. Sounds like to me she is satisfied with it.
BTW, the pitch forgot to mention all the money they make off of advertisements from Escorts, strip clubs, masseuses, and phone sex hot lines - all forms of Prostitution. I guess they forgot to include that bit of info.
And yes, they do end up pointing the finger at clients. All the bad stuff is our fault, that sort of thing. Check it out for a little info, but don't expect to learn anything worthwhile.

I've not been shopping in years. I forgot some fundamentals. I am going to post this in Rip Off thread also. 9:45am today on Independence I saw a thin, white, blond who called herself Stefanie. The first night, I hit Independence Ave from about 5:30pm-6:30pm, Paseo to 435. There were a couple BSWs on side streets around Prospect, but mostly it was empty.
I returned around midnight, still finding basically nothing on Independence. Then I went exploring. Went through the Bottoms, saw nothing. I went on a freaky drive crossing the state line by the railroad yard. I drive in a lot of unfamiliar territory in various streets in the middle of the night, and this was probably the most unsettling. I went on Bluff St. off of I think 21st, across a big culvert or something. Very dark outside, no light but my high-beams. I was driving around where the concrete walls were right up against my car so I had to make blind turns. I drove over at least one of the rusty metal bridges. At one point I ended up in private railroad territory, so I had to back out.
Eventually I emerged on the Kansas side, and went cruising around 10th / Central / 18th / Minnesota. I saw one WSW on my very first pass at 10th/Central, an overweight blonde in her 40s. Other than that, I didn't see a single SW in about two hours. I finally gve up around 4am.
The next night, I went out again, starting on Independence around midnight. Again, some BSWs -- where are the WSWs? I drove down Prospect to about 47th, saw a bunch of BSWs on the way. Same thing heading back up Troost.
Cut over again to the same box area in Kansas, with not a soul to be seen. Finally around 3am I went back over to Troost and picked up a BSW a little south of Truman. Not what I was looking for, but I'm not going to spend 8 hours over 2 nights and come up totally empty.
Her name was Mika, slender BSW in her early 20s or maybe late teens. Decent looking, mumbled a lot. BBBJCIM for .2, good service and no hassles.
I left KC disappointed that I did not get to try out greater variety in the local talent.

Just along Independence itself. I looked down side streets, but did not know about the other streets you mentioned. I had read back posts on this thread beforehand, but did not recall those. Oh well, perhaps next time.

KC street action has gotten rather lean in the last year.
Independence was pretty active with reasonable quality WSW and several of them most anytime.
Now they are rare and the few there are older.
Prospect from 22nd to 24th has an occasional BSW in their upper 30s.
Going further south you might see a heavy BSW or two from 27th to 30th.
Between Troost and The Paseo on 44th and 45th you will occasionally see a BSW.
But on Troost and 43rd approaching and after dark you will see several TVSWs.
Overall, not much even for a spectator to watch.
Will trade St Louis SW # for a few KC SW #. I like mine more on the small and petite but as they say You cant always get what, but you might just take what you need. Take care and be in KC in may hope to leave smileing.

They've been coming out earlier and earlier. It used to be that there were girls out well after 2am, but lately the streets are mostly empty by midnight or so.
I made a pass on Monday at around 9:00 and I saw many out working even though it wasn't even fully dark. I drove up Troost and saw a really large streetwalker waiting at a bus stop. One thing I've noticed is that there are almost no girls walking solo anymore. I haven't picked up anyone in months because I'm not gonna pull up to a girl with a dude just standing there.

kcbigpapaIt's been my experience with goin to someones home like that that it is "most" of the time ok but keep firmly in mind that these folks arent like the people you regulrally hang around with. You will never know whos gonna be there when you get there or whos gonna show up while your there. Just in my experience in doing that I have been there when a pissed off drug dealer showed up looking for his money. Been there when a guy was already there who I found out later had just got out of prison for murder. Couple other great ones too. Anyway I don't do it anymore. A rule of thumb would be anyone you see driving around in those areas, walking around, savory & unsavory could be the folks you find yourself rubbing elbows with.
When through the bottoms around 9th and state line and saw a WSW on Saturday(4-4) that looked a little rough. She was working the morning. Couldn't get a clear photo of her. Very short blond hair and looked like she could take me in a fair fight.

I was out and about this afternoon and thought I'd drive the stroll just to see what was up. Even though I had no intentions of picking anyone up, there were so many girls out that I was surely tempted. Some were even decent looking. I was shocked, because even with all the traffic and pedestrians, it was easy to tell who was working. There were 3-4 girls walking along 6th between Indiana and Myrtle. Also a few on Independence itself.
I did see some other guys cruising, and even saw a couple of girls get picked up. I normally wouldn't pick up a streetwalker during the day, as I would be nervous with a car date. I'm starting to think that it has. I see fewer and fewer girls out walking, even during the prime hours. Sure, they are there. But scarce. When I'd expect to see 10 girls, there would be two. And almost all of them are hanging with a bunch of guys so you don't know if they are dealing or hooking.

Picked up "Veronica" on Independence on Saturday night. Big mistake. I first saw her walking west and circled the block to pick her up. By the time I got to her, there were two cars waiting to turn and one sitting by the side of the road. I figured she was gonna get into one of them and me pulling over would have snarled traffic on Independence so that was out. I kept going, but she didn't get into any of the cars. I pulled into the 7-11 and circled back but she never made eye contact with me so I headed elsewhere.
There was almost no one else out that night, so when I saw her again ten minutes later I pulled over for her. She almost didn't stop, but then turned around and got in. As I started driving she started negotiating. I offered $20 plus a tip. She said she charges $40. i said I only had $30. She said yes, but insisted on seeing it. As soon as I held it out she snatched it and directed me towards a parking spot.
I am normally cautious about letting a girl pick the spot, and this night was no different. She took me to a place not even a full block off Independence Avenue, with cars driving by in both directions. I said no way and kept going. She kept pointing out places to stop that were much too public -- there's no way I'm doing it behind the pool hall, or in the parking lot of the Askew Inn. And when I suggested a spot near the park she said "No way!"
This girl already had my money and I was 100% sure she was gonna bolt as soon as I stopped the car anywhere close to where she got in. Finally I said "Look, give me back $20, you keep $10 for your time and I'll drop you off." She started to argue and I insisted. Eventually I just started driving away, telling her that the longer she argued, the further she was gonna have to walk. "I-35 is right up the street and once there you are kinda stuck". She threatened to put my car in park, but I informed her that the transmission wouldn't shift to park while I was driving. She said she'd give me the $20 as soon as I stopped, but I demanded the money first. She agreed, if I would drive her to where I picked her up.
As I pulled up to her block she handed me a crumpled up bill, but it was the $10. I sped up and started to turn the corner and she said "ALL RIGHT, HERE!" and grabbed the $10 and gave me the $20. I pulled over and she jumped out saying "Don't ever disrespect me like that!" I pulled away, letting inertia shut the door before she could slam it.
All-in-all it could have gone worse, but as least she didn't get the full amount.

Maybe it's just been my choice in SW's, but I've always found the white girls to be a little more accomodating.
Don't get me wrong, I've been ripped off by all colors and races, so I don't think that has a thing to do with it. I've just thought the white girls are willing to "go the extra mile" to earn their money. May not be entirely true. You should be able to find an older black woman (39,5' tall, with short, blond colored hair. Calls herself Tatoo. On the 4th from top zoom notch it shows West Bottoms as the area between I670 and I70. It is just north of Kemper Arena. Hope this helps. Was driving down Independence on Sunday night around 10:00 and saw a lot of activity out and about despite the cold. More and more I see that the active part of the stroll is moving east on Independence Ave. When I first started I would see girls west of Paseo on Independence and Admiral. Drove down Independence Friday night between 11:00 and midnight. In that time I saw at least 20 different girls out working. Quite a few hotties including more white girls than usual. I've always had good luck in the "T-Zone". Independence Ave between the CVS on the east end all the way to the Pasaeo on the west end. Prospect between 27th & 39th are good too.
If you like to stay close to Independence Ave, keep in mind that LE patrols the area on foot and in vehicles.

The thrill isn't there unless there is some real risk. I was never like that. The main reason I liked the streets was that I didn't have to worry about making appointments and getting screened. I could feel horny at 10:00 on a Tuesday and take a drive and get some relief. And then there was the price, which was nice.
But now with BackPage and a good list of reliable ladies I can find someone at most any hour. And lolly services are so common now that I can get a blow-and-go for $50-60.

Oh I have done some research, "providers" want to see references from other providers. Not sure how to get them if all expect you to have a history.References are kind of like credit, you remember trying to get credit without any? I had to take a few high interest cards and loans in order to build mine. That being said, you may have to settle for some providers that aren't your first few choices in order to get references for the ones you want to see. Just go for a quick session with a couple of providers that don't require references and you should be good to go from then out.

She was moving a little fast but took direction well when I asked her to slow down. Once she got her hands into the act, as well as her tongue, she made short work of things and did a respectful Catch & Release.
She asked me to give her a lift somewhere and then take her back to 7-11. Along the way she spoke about some issues she was having with her room mates. She picked up what she needed from the friend's house and then I took her to 7-11 (same routine as before). I dropped her off and drove away as she chatted with some people parked in front of the building.
A positive experience... I'd recommend her.

Heard she was found barefoot outside on Wednesday or Thursday the 4th. If you remember how cold it was that Wednesday and Thursday, she had to have been in a local residence or put where she was found behind Texas Toms. I do not know what caused her death but it does haunt me. She had / has a good soul. She was a unique person. Although not an easy task, making her smile made me feel good. When someone out there actually enjoys the activity, it's a real gift.

I am sure she has been reviewed here before so I will skip the physical appearance part. We found a nice little place a few blocks off Independence and got to know each other better. She has an awesome BBBJ with a catch at the end. She was very personable and easy to talk with. I donated .30 to her Christmas fund for next year and got her number, hopefully its a good number unlike some who don't ever get minutes added and can't get ahold of. I am fairly new to the area so my resources are slim but trying to learn the area. I will keep you posted on future outings. 1 question to the kc regulars, is it worth driving around troost or prospect or is it a safer bet to stick to independence? Any other area's to browse? It's funny that le has provided the best information on where to find SW's here. I'm not sure why no one here posts anything. We all need to start helping each other out, that's what this site is for.

Kansas is really hit or miss with more "miss".
I've seen some on the Kansas side of the West Bottoms including Central & James.
I've seen some further west on Central.
I've seen a few older ones on State Ave. West of downtown.
The area bounded by 7th st., Washington and State may have something, also 7th between Washington and the railroad overpass early mornings.

If so, then what the hell do you expect? If not, then how much did you "negotiate" for? Maybe you should try not to negotiate and just give her what she asks for. I have found that the experience is a hell of a lot better, they take their time and don't rush, and they always catch when you just give them what they ask for. I even tip most of the time now and I have to say that they perform as good as you are willing to reward them. Negotiation gets you a crappy rushed experience so try giving a little more and you will be grateful you did.
