Well you beat me to the punch with your post! Yup you weren't the only one last night! After taking a run down Dot Ave. (Nothing), headed home via Copeland / Water Quincy. There were 2 girls walking a little ways down from the 711 store. One was a tall brunette the other was a short dirty blond. The blond gave me the look. Let me try again. In the last 6 months there were 3 occurances of SW pickups on Copeland by USASG members (2 members) during the same time frame that you were cuising 11:30 pm - 2:00 am. I'm counting Marissa as one which I believe is a stretch. So the average would be 1 occurance every 2 months.
The Point Is:
1 SW occurance every 2 months (1 day in 60 days). These are pretty crappy odds! You asked in your post "Am I too early?" The answer is "No". It's just the odds are so slim. Odds of running into a SW on Dot Ave during that time frame are soooooo much better!

First off, Thank You for your concern about gas usage (and being pinched. There's a real Simple Answer! You have to think outside the box (Normal everyday person). I work the Night Shift in South Boston and take the X-Way to the Braintree Split to get home. Andrew Square is the closest spot to jump on the X-Way. Well, I can get on the X-Way (After sometimes hitting DD) or I can head down Dot Ave and take in the sites. Traveling down Dot Ave. I can get on the X-Way at Columbia, Park, or Granite, my choice. It's the same distance from Andrew Sq. To Granite Ave whichever route you take (Google Map it). Yea, probably a little more usage in gas due to traffic lights (City mpg). The Copeland Loop (Furnace Brook, Copeland / Water, Franklin.) adds 2 miles to my distance. So what are we talking about with gas $2. 25/ gal and 25 mpg, at most $0. 50/ Troll. Yes, I agree, there's always the danger of being pinched, comes with the territory. When I used to hunt in Brockton many years ago, I really was burning gas!
Now the most important part of the Simple Answer! You need to have a few regulars in case something happens (Girl disappears / moves, takes a state vacation, changes service, etc). I don't consider Kerrie a regular yet, and if her new service policy remains in effect, She's gone! I have a few regulars with their phone numbers (As everyone should). Yes, they are eager! I got the "Hey" from Kerrie the next night after picking her up. Gave me all the sad reasons to pick her up again. I agreed since she does have game. While lately I've been lucky and have plucked good ones on first pull-overs, there are many nites I find nothing acceptable and strike out or simply pass on the horrible ones out there. And when I do pass on bad ones or dangerous ones, it is the greatest feeling, as I drive home with a smile on my face knowing that I'm safe and listened to my correct head, and dodged a bullet. This is why I don't just let just anyone into my ride without first seeing them through my window first. I want that few seconds to gauge the looks, age, highness or weirdness, healthiness etc etc. I have left many a girl at the window and simply said sorry and pulled back into traffic. Did several rounds from Andrew to Ashmont at around 10:00 PM and was surprised at the number of ladies out working at the hour (I had figured due to the general lateness of most reports that my search would be fruitless). Dot Ave is slightly safer but take MM's advice and read his post. A visitor on BH has a better chance of being schooled than finding a worthwhile guide. Be smart, especially when not in your own area, ask Hugh grant.

A couple of nights back, cruised around a bit. 8-9 ish range if memory serves.
Started on BHA, and I'm honestly almost done with that drag. Same trash pretty much after multiple loops. Saw one skinny probable LSW with frizzy hair walkin up near devon, tried to park and get a closer look, but she crossed the street. Saw another car probably in the mix for her and saw nothing on the loop back around.
So, we maneuvered to Mass and the MMile. This seems like a better locale for this time frame, since it is before the shelter locks up. Saw the regular assortment of zombies. Saw a small WSW walking from behind with long, frizzy blondish hair. Seemed promising so I passed by and whipped around to a side st and waited for the walk-up. As she did, I saw that the years haven't been too kind to her. She asked for a cigarette, then what I was up to. I just said 'waiting for a friend' and she moved along.
Few more rounds and saw a brunette spinnerish WSW with a backpack walking up the same part of the st. Gave me the smile on roll-by one. Mistimed my whip around, but was lucky enough to catch her eye again and park up near the Haul. So, she hopped in.
Dreamt of her being named Tay, probably mid-20's. Looked a little weary from The Life but still pretty good IMO. Said she usually posts but was staying at the shelter. Tons of people just sitting curbside looking like they were packing it in for the night to sleep on the sidewalk.
I am far too nervous to actually pick anyone up but I occasionally like to cruise the areas to check out the girls. I typically only do one pass to not draw attention from LEO and have only saw a handful of definite SW, mostly on BHA. Saturday night was different because thst was the first time I saw so many people in one area. Perhaps normal for a Sat night?
Anyway, my post is not a review but a props to those who have the balls to scoop them. I probably would grab one if I was certain she was legit and no LEO around but I am not good at noticing surroundings enough. I'm certain I'd be the guy busted because I didn't notice the undercover 20 feet away.

Didn't pick anyone up, but got the spare change request many times, one girl straight out asks me to buy her a meal. Swung thru Mc Dees and got a coffee and burger and hung out to watch the shenanigans for about 45 minutes. And then took off. LE made several loops while I was there. Just park at the store and eventually they will come to you and panhandle. If you like her the pick up is easy peasy. None were pick up worthy, but there were plenty. Guys begged for spare change as well. I was not in the donating mood. I think I prefer BHA and Dot Ave.

New to SW scene, have experience with AMPs and BP, but get the urge now and then where a SW might be fun.
Just wondering how you guys pick spots to drive the girl to? I know the dot and BHA neighborhoods a little, but don't know where a discrete spot to park might be.
Obviously I'm not asking for specific locations, but do you usually look for a residential side street, or an empty vs crowded parking lot? In an active lot I worry about foot traffic, but an empty one just seems so obvious for LEO. The chase and drama is part of the fun, but I really don't want to get pinched, and worry about getting ripped off by asking the girl to pick a spot.
Any advice?

I would never allow the girl to pick the spot you could be rolling into a set up. For a spot I would pick something off the beat and path not that well lit and park positioned so that you can see what is coming at you. I have had luck sometimes with apartment building lots parking near the dumpster areas that are fenced in. I'm not a fan of school parking lots. I also wouldn't recommend Franklin Park the side streets round Mass Ave by Uhaul and the Suffolk Construction and the funeral home can be promising but Suffolk has security so just be careful how close you get.

I've done side streets but if you park in front of nosy busy body, that could be bad, so be quick and discreet as possible if you do that (no loud music, loud groaning, etc).
More secluded but with higher risk of bad timing with Uncle LEO patrol are two lots at each end of PJP2 park on the Neponset.
I'm also looking for advice or debates on the above.

How about a high rise parking lot? Park near the top levels or less busy levels. Back in so you can see if anyone is approaching. LEA doesn't patrol these areas I think.

They are all one ways with various spots that allow me to park with a car in front and one behind. I typically have my mirrors optimized to see both vehicles, traffic street side and pedestrians on the sidewalk side. Finally I keep the radio off and both windows cracked just a little bit to be able to pick up any audio que's.

Less chance to encounter Uncle LEO because it's not an area known for such activity. Also tends to weed out the girls that will try to rush you.

This is a very good idea. Also try and drive on empty streets when going to a location. It is also a good idea to find a area wher you can enter from one direction. This way there is much less likelyhood cars or LE passing by. In the idea is to reduce your risk factor as much as possible when picking up a SW.
