Unfortunately, there are a LOT of dumbass drivers out there. I have had them bang U-turns right in front of me, back out of wrong way streets the wrong way onto the main road, go down a one-way the wrong way at me, run red lights and all kinds of shit. I've avoided accidents more than once.

Less drivers are part of the reason that I like the early morning runs. Other reasons would be that the SW's stand out a bit more and are easier to tell apart from civi's and you can also spot LEO a bit easier. Easier to find a "spot" to play in as well. That and now that it's summertime some SW's want to make their money BEFORE it gets too hot or they have to make their money before the kids wake up.

A little bit later than usual and the Elmwood area stroll won the coin toss as to where I'd start out. One advantage I do have is EXPERIENCE as I have not only been doing the Providence area DAILY for the last 5 years or so BUT I have also been doing this for over 20 years all across the country. I have been laid in every single state BUT Alaska (I've never been there) as well as something like 17 different countries. I generally avoid "the hill" part of Atwells near the hwy and 99% of the SW's that I have ever spotted on Atwells were between the intersection of Valley and the end on Atwells where it hits Manton. You can also just use the gas stations to reference a sighting too.

The reason I'm doing this is that numerous times I have posted a report about someone that no one else has reported about at all (ie. Mine is the first mention ever) and suddenly once I do more than one monger will come out of the woodwork and claim to know them. I am wondering if it's a case of my reports helping hook them up by providing a description, time, location and etc OR if some guys are just BS'ing and faking to build credibility and etc.

I do NOT want to be enabling the fakes / liars / lurkers etc so until I see some verifiable reports mine are going to be bare bones to avoid that potential assist to them.

This morning's run between 83ish and 9am was a 100% waste of time / gas. That's two Sunday's early mornings in a row like that so I'll save some gas and stop that time frames runs.

I think a meeting in a park is viable but only with a smallish group. 2 or 3 guys is 4-6 when counting guests. 4 guys=8 which is now a small crowd. 5 guys and guests is a crowd and likely to draw some attention which we don't need.

I don't think it's a pipe dream, we just need to find a place that makes it doable. I have a idea, I'll contact you later today.

That place doesn't seem to mind the SW's and actually seems to like the business they get from the actual SW's and the mongers too. BTW, if you're a smoker and are short on cash for buying a pack they sell "loosies" which are just individual cigarette's one by one for a buck a piece. Quite a few convenience store's seem to offer this "service".

I will put up some of the street shots I took while in that area. It does take some practice to be able to take pics while you're getting some action at the same time. You also have to make sure that nothing that can identify you makes it into the pics as well. Like with most things the more you do it the better you'll get.

For inside, you'll need a wider aperature / shutter speed combo, so go for the Party / Indoor setting. That should reduce blur and give you more "keepers"! As always, thanks for your pics!

First problem is that you bought a Nikon, the Canons are usually use much better sensors, its not the amount of MP the camera has but the quality of the sensor that makes a good pic. Nikons are good cameras but sometimes struggle with Low light or indoor type pics. Not sure what settings you can make on your Nikon but there must be a way to set it so it can take a quality indoor or low light pic even if there is movement going on. I'm not a Camera pro by any means so maybe someone else can comment on what setting to make indoors when movement is involved, if your cam has a sports mode that many times is good cause it adjust the light sensitivity along with the shutter speed.

I know that "prime time" is generally between 2am and 3am after the bars close but started the run a bit earlier in the hope of finding either a part timer or even an opportunistic civi. I am a self admitted lurker recently that has been away for awhile for various reasons, I took my first trip tonight in quite a very long time. I started out around 11pm on Elmwood and the streets were a ghost time with heavy leo presence. I went up Atwells and met with same negative result with one gigantic BSW walking on Manton. I then tried my luck in Central Falls thanks to the recent post about some luck being had near the Sunnyville convenience store but that was also a no go. I backtracked home and hit the same areas a second time, the time was now around 1am and I still was skunked.

I just completed a run down Elmwood around noon and met up with a WSW who went by the name Elena, she was stationed in front of a white building somewhat across from the AutoZone. Hey Horny, use one of the presets designed for fast movement, like Sports for outside. For inside, you'll need a wider aperature / shutter speed combo, so go for the Party / Indoor setting.
