I too was confused when I first encountered the term NOVA. And it did not help that the first time I ran across it was here in the USASG Northern Virginia forum. But after quite some time of confusion, and deducing it must mean a HJ, I finally ran across a definition. It may be apocryphal, but the term was described as an acronym for: No Oral, Vagina, Anal.

That definition could be dubious, but it is accurate. So I went to Garden Spa / Red Rose in Burke, old Keene Rd. There was construction going on so was only able to do 30 min. The lady said since they were short on time she would charge. 4, instead of usual. 5.

As reviewed by others, massage was great. We conversed in Chinese. She told me I looked 23-24 (not too far off LOL).

But here was the kicker.

After I flipped, she just kept massaging until time was up and that was it LOL. Didn't ask about extras, Happy ending or anything. I get shy to ask so I didn't. I tipped. 2 and she told me to come back next time for a 90 min session.

I first started lurking here after tiring of sifting through old BP ads looking for providers that checked my ideal provider boxes only to be catfished. Here though, you get reports from likeminded brahs who keep it real and as a byproduct of said reports, you stumble upon your tastes and develop a perpetual To Do list. I myself have a To Do list and I just checked off one of my entries, Norma.

One of my rules of this hobby is I usually don't seek out providers that I feel I can meet and woo outside of the hobby. As such, I hardly see non Asian providers as I can find plenty non Asian chicks during my club and bar trolling who have the moral depth of a plate of Cheerios. I was however intrigued when I heard Norma described as a thick, mature, big teddied, Latina who gave a CMT level massage. The fact that her entry fee was also only a benji proved to be enticing as well. I texted her and got my appointment.

During my lurk there was a brah who reported a dud experience with a indy provider saying that he requests his providers allow him to play his own music selections during his sessions. Brah was denied by this particular provider and this apparently soured his experience. When I first read his report I couldn't wrap my head around how that was that big a deal. Then I began visiting one of my former favorite (and unfortunately now closed) spots, Diamond Spa in Camp Springs, MD and saw how music could potentially be a mood killer for some. This particular place would have WPGC blasting. I'm not sure if some of you brahs have a clue who Young Thug is, but I guarantee you probably wouldn't choose to have his jams as the soundtrack to your next tugger. While this didn't literally or figuratively deflate me on my visits to Diamond, it was noticeable. I say all that to aware you brahs that the music and volume are an ever present aspect of the ambiance of the Norma experience. Although I was unbothered by the volume, it was set to a level that required we raise our voices to hear one another and sometimes repeat ourselves as we communicated during the session. I was also slightly worried that during the pre flip tease, Quincy Jones would pop out and tickle my balls.

Norma returns and asked if I had any areas that needed special attention and for my strength preference. I told her that my neck and lower back were thrashed and that I wanted it strong. She begins and gives me a really good deep tissue massage. She has her certifications on display in the studio and her training is evident. She worked my problem areas with surgical precision and relaxed me totally. As she applied stronger pressure and worked problem areas, she encouraged me to speak up if the applied pressure became unbearable. I told her that she was free to whip my ass to her maximum capabilities, as I was sure I'd be fine. Some of my favorite honies have really put me through the ringer of ecstasy. While Norma did provide a great massage with strong deep tissue work, her massage is only a fraction of the strength of some of the other providers like Kiko, KK, Joanna at Garden and others. OK, I will finally post. This might be longer, but bear with me. Blue in spring has been a great go to for a while. I've been to many and to GB once or twice. ST has let me down too many times to count. Lee hey Tokyo used to be awesome. Bella, Sharon, and others, last 2-3 visits have been sub standard. June at Franconia spa is cool, Joy at Wellness very fun at times, but have not had a "killer" visit in a while anywhere. Two things. I know my way around, and usually get better mileage--but, king spa has been a bad joke for me. 3 visits, hags, and told I should self serve. Never happened like that anywhere. This place is exactly as described- super nice spa in a nice low-key office complex. But I'm not returning. I tried to call and set an appointment, the nice sounding lady wouldn't do it. Had a dream last night. Read early reviews so I had to experience what everyone was recommending. Standard entry fee. 7 for hr massage was best one I've had since living here between MD & VA. I was aware of Frankie's post but the provider who connected me to Minnie is a trusted friend so I decided to go with the flow and schedule an appt. I figured that if I got a decent massage, and a little extra, I would be a happy enough camper. And I also resolved to think with the big head and not overpay.

An independent masseuse has some external risk to worry about (LE) but, since she controls things as her own boss, she doesn't have any internal issues.

A masseuse at a spa where extras are offered is an employee and not the boss. But the fact that management knows what's going on and encourages it means she also doesn't have any internal risks to worry about.

But Massage Envy is a legit franchise-based business. So any employee-therapist would almost certainly lose their job if they were caught doing extras. And any owner could possibly have their franchise terminated. That's a dramatically different risk-reward calculation.

Which doesn't mean it's not possible that some random ME therapist might be persuaded to give a HJ at some random point in time. But I wouldn't bank on it as the odds are stacked way against you.

What does it take for a massage therapist to, assuming they don't have a moral problem with doing so, offer extras? The major factor is how they view the rewards vs the potential risks.

An independent masseuse has some external risk to worry about (LE) but, since she controls things as her own boss, she doesn't have any internal issues.

A masseuse at a spa where extras are offered is an employee and not the boss. But the fact that management knows what's going on and encourages it means she also doesn't have any internal risks to worry about.

But Massage Envy is a legit franchise-based business. So any employee-therapist would almost certainly lose their job if they were caught doing extras. And any owner could possibly have their franchise terminated. That's a dramatically different risk-reward calculation.

Which doesn't mean it's not possible that some random ME therapist might be persuaded to give a HJ at some random point in time. But I wouldn't bank on it as the odds are stacked way against you.All true, but I've heard it happens. Avoid 5xx9 lee hwy. A lot of adds on all the sites, but provider was not attractive, terrible massage and no menu available.
