I'm going to be coming back to town for work and staying in Ballston in a couple months. I won't have a car, curious if there any recommendations for places with walking distance? Ther is also a Capital Bikeshare station across the street.

Was in town this week and saw a review of April from Sung Spa. I was in the area and decided to stop by. I've looked for reviews on Bye Bye Stress in Arlington on Langston Blvd and haven't ever seen one. TOFTT this week and tried it out. Called ahead to see if anyone was available, and scheduled an hour. Walked in, front is a business counter, couple of seats, with a door separating the front from the back. Once in the back the area is that sort of floor to not connected to the ceiling rooms with only shower curtain doors. Put into the last room, lady says, "here" points to table and leaves. Room is meh. Looks like a crappy massage room in a crappy parlor in Asia. The whole place smells like tiger balm. My therapist is the same woman at the reception desk. 40's, short, plump, thick heavy sweats and vest. Absolutely nothing to look at. Massage was awful from the get go. She immediately crawled onto my back on her hands and knees and just sort of crawled around like a baby looking for a toy. She eventually got off, poured what felt like a quart of oil on my back and just started slathering it around. She had zero technique and would go from slather to bone crushing pressure that actually left me bruised in two places. After about 45 minutes she mumbled something incoherent in my ear, and me hoping for the best just said "OK". My hour turned into 90 minutes. Last 20 minutes I was on my back and she just worked my legs from the knees down.
This was by far the absolute worst massage I've had just about anywhere. Avoid this place like the plague.
Glad you had a great time with Sarah. She is great at what she does. I just wish there was more to look at. She probably made a killing 20 years ago. If I had found her then, I would've emptied my 401 k on her! LOL!

Reporting on a few serviceable places in the the wild west of Fairfax county.
Moon Spa (Herndon) - Amy.
Amy nails the flirtatious older woman vibe perfectly. She's very upbeat and friendly, and has a sexy MILF look that works pretty well for a woman of her age.

Your story motivated me to try my hand at getting extra service from a "legit" shop.
One day while out and about I saw a Nail Salon near a restaurant I visited. So I stopped in while they prepared my takeout meal to see how the staff looked. The bad first. Easy to make appointment with her, this lady has a pretty good massage technique, but lacks the stretching that I like. I opted for the 90 min session, her technique is some where in the middle of medium to soft pressure, I came away some what impressed, but overall disappointed, she spent a considerable amount of time on her phone tending to phone appointments and texting. And now for the great. I've been going to this lady for awhile now, she's Mira from bedpage, not far from manassas costco, I'm close by which makes it very convenient for me. I typically have enjoyed going to this place but recently had a bad time. I scheduled a 90 minute massage with Tiffany. I scheduled 90 min because last time she said she let me massage her if I do a 90 minute massage. So that's what I went with and I am regretting it.

There is a place called Luxe. Listed on Columbia, MD-rubmaps run by a white woman.

I have seen her a few times now and every experience just keeps getting better.
I like her PM play better than anywhere else because she does heavy grazing while doing a very strong massage on the legs and all of the muscles around the groin area.

Last week, my ATF Cherrie left May Wellness and was replaced with another young and adorable gal named Angel. I am sorry to see Cherrie leave but Angel is more than a suitable replacement. Clearly the case. I've been there twice, but found the two thicker females (Be-Be and Ve-Ve) somewhat rude. With out being malicious in is explanation, "YouChooch" simply describes an unacceptable situation that he was put in while dealing with the tall Latina with a major GPS attitude; he was right to ask for his money back and move on. It was a "boner killer "of a moment.
Currently, DC002 is highly complementary to Best Therapy. He has written several reviews well embellished with details with regards to the ambiance of this spa; he obviously feels very comfortable with the service and the ladies of this establishment. It may be his go to place just like mine is May Wellness.
But.
Sometimes you just can't be 100% with your service -- although you can fix the problem and this action is what separates the run of the mill Massage Parlor from the ones that strive to offer a memorable experience. This is so in any small business. In the case of Best Therapy Lucy Lu steps and hands Mia her walking papers and maybe a smack upside the head. (I have never met Lucy Lu). Lucy Lu has a big financial stake in what happens, God forbid if she were to get a bad review, (which she did) they all fear this but she fixed the problem. There was a similar situation at May Wellness, Nicole stepped up and fired the gal just because she kept inquiring about a tip.
I am in favor of frequenting Spas that have a good Manager / Mamasan, young or old, they are a positive force in the wellbeing of the establishment. Anyhow I have been wanting to visit Best Therapy based on DC002 reviews, but I just haven't found the time since I have been dividing my time between May Wellness, Easter and Sunny Spa, but I intend to in the coming new year.

So last year I piggy backed off PA's comments about remembering some of our lovely this Holiday season. I added a comment that we should be a little more generous with these gals since they have such a hard life. Well! That comment set up an uproar of disagreement from some of our beloved members to the point that one had his comments deleted by our beloved Admin2. The good news is that I am not going near that comment this year.
Now I have had a very good mongering year; I love the hobby and all that it has to offer; I have met new acquaintances that I occasionally PM with on this board and more importantly I have made some very interesting new lady friends. I have learned a lot about some of these gals: Some make an obscene amount of money but most just get by. Three out my four regular gals have children abroad and they are the only means of support. I went and saw Tara a week or so ago. As always her massage is top notch. However her apartment is a mess and doesn't smell all that great. The shower temp is either cold or really hot, no in between. Bathroom not all that clean either.

She was at C & C Wellness in Herndon and then at Eden Spa in Alexandria. Over the course of time, we shared our real names and contact information as well and I went where she went.
Always had a wonderful time with her. To the point I wanted, so badly, to go out with her. Each time I asked, she would politely decline. Last year was the last time I saw her. She was kind of stand offish and declined service. I must have done something bad and at that point but to this day don't know what it is. I said my goodbye and haven't been to an AMP since. Maybe, me pushing to meet outside of "work" for her could have been too much or I totally misjudged her friendliness.
But, since I found this site and some of the seniors and regulars say to newcomers to make recommendations first, I wanted to start of with my own and I hope this is helpful. Another Recommendation. K-Wellness in Arlington is run by a provider who was friends with me when she used to own K&J Wellness and prior to that, working at Sky Therapy in Herndon. She runs the place very well and is always neat and clean. One of her best friends went by Coco and Nana was my go-to gal, prior to Cindy.

The provider was a tall, semi-attractive girl. TS was adequate, but not great. The massage was short and not so much a massage as pushing skin around my back and legs with a quick move to ST and even quicker move to negotiations. Her requested fee was way higher than I think her age / looks / attitude / personality warranted. So I thanked her for the time and let her know I was only interested in massage. She wasn't pleased and wanted to know if I was going to tip and quickly deoooed her price. By then the mood was gone, so I thanked her again and left.

Price for nuru+shower scrub was per her ad. Didn't discuss anything else until the flip, asked for a tip for BBBJ+CIM, I asked if making it a total $$$ was sufficient and she agreed.
Throughout she was very upfront about what she didn't do, no FS, no FIV. All fine with me since I wasn't looking for that.

So last year I piggy backed off PA's comments about remembering some of our lovely this Holiday season. I added a comment that we should be a little more generous with these gals since they have such a hard life. Well! That comment set up an uproar of disagreement from some of our beloved members to the point that one had his comments deleted by our beloved Admin2. The good news is that I am not going near that comment this year.
Now I have had a very good mongering year; I love the hobby and all that it has to offer; I have met new acquaintances that I occasionally PM with on this board and more importantly I have made some very interesting new lady friends. I have learned a lot about some of these gals: Some make an obscene amount of money but most just get by. Three out my four regular gals have children abroad and they are the only means of support. And I also have a keen nose, so any odors would be immediately noticeable to me. I can't speak to your experience, as I wasn't there, but I can speak to 10+ years of seeing her.
I'd also add that, in all that time, I've never seen Tara use a photoshopped pic. Last time I was there, I got to see 3 or 4 providers in the waiting room. They are all oily faced middle aged women. I am asian, I know exactly how old are they. Anyhow you can't really compare these other spas to May Wellness because you are not comparing Peaches to Peaches, so to speak. Although IMHO the Peaches at May Wellness are a lot harder.
They need a few more years to ripen.

The punctuation is off, capitalizing words when they shouldn't be, sentence structure a little off, etc. The big giveaway is the highly glowing reviews, especially when you check the poster's posting history and see other likely AI-generated reviews that are highly glowing of the provider / AMP. I have a feeling that the advertisers that these AMPs use figured out this forum could be used to spam the boards with the ads, vice just advertising sites like bedpage. The advertisers are all Asian, non-native English speakers, who don't have a grasp of colloquial English, hence why they have to resort to AI to post their fake reviews.
Past reviews for Blue Therapy in Springfield, Forever Wellness (and the infamous Grace) in Fairfax, and a Chinese AMP in Herndon on Herndon Pkwy (I think it's called Breeze) have all the same characteristics of AI-generated fake reviews.

I recently visited NYC and through the forum I found NYAF. From what I had read, it was the experience I was looking for. I wanted to try a new place to close out the year. Ruby spa is very clean. I got the impression this place was set up to offer massage with HJ, but it has a table shower.
