The going rates seem to be creeping up to $60 at some of these places. Last time I saw Jean, it was $50 + tip. Usually about $40-$50 for the tip. Her price may have gone up like some of the others.

Here's the rundown:
1) 40'ish, possibly late 30's gal with average looks. A bit pudgy, but probably par for the course at that age.

If you mean the Judy Massage on Kalakaua (not Kapiolani), I was there several months ago. I had a massage by an older woman who said she was Judy, the owner. Saw Kiki again, recently.

Wait, so if I'm understanding you correctly, Jenny wouldn't schedule him UNLESS he read a report about her on an internet forum? How odd. Or, did she know he was lying and wouldn't schedule him because he lied to her? Either way, I thought Jenny was a better business person than that.
In any case, I still don't see why the charade about these forums. I can see protecting your identity and maybe keeping more specific details about your sessions to PMs, when asked, but, they all know about these forums, anyway and we know they know, so why even bother lying about whether or not we've read reports on them?
This mutual knowledge should be used to our advantage. Again, I say, like any other commodity (which is all they are), word of mouth is either your best or your worst advertising....it just depends on your service. You give good service, you get good reports, business goes up. You give crappy service, you get crappy reports, your business goes down. It's that simple.
They're the supply, we're the demand. Without the demand, there's no need for the supply. So, without us, they have no business. Simple economics.

Unless the provider you're calling has their line set to not accept "blocked calls" (and some do, but I don't remember which offhand), you should just set your phone to "Hide" your number. That way, it would send your number when you call. Of course, that only works with anyone you haven't already called.
I can see the legits keeping your number off your caller ID and maybe call you back "when they have an opening" or if you're late, but I doubt the AMPs do...they probably don't have the time to waste on that kind of thing.
Anyway, just a suggestion to protect your privacy.

Agreed, that you can just ask them not to call you.
But, on the other hand, what do I care if they think I'm "going to be" a rude caller? Hell, they're running a business and that means you need to accomodating to your clients. If I choose not to reveal my number because I don't need that info. getting around where it has no place being in the first place, then that's my perrogative. It's not about whether somebody thinks it's rude. Taking calls, regardless of whether or not you can see the number calling is irrelevent, if you want to stay in business. You cater to the needs and accomodated the wishes of your customers.
And, how do you "take blocked calls last"? What do you have some multi-line phone that queues up all your calls so see the vast list of people who are no doubt all dying to talk to you at the same time? That makes no sense whatsoever.

I never blocked my number and Jean's number wasn't blocked either. The point for me was.
I just thought it was weird that Jean would still have my number after several weeks (usually numbers getting dialed in are pushed out after 10 calls or so, which means she took mine down or stored it).
And I think it's weird that she would call me out of the blue. I guess I should be happy that she liked me enough to want me back, but our hobby is one that demands descretion for the most part.
As far as I'm concerned, I'd definitely prefer not to be called. I know where they are and how to find them if and when I'm ready to repeat. I also place a high value on those I visit that can be descrete. Respect my privacy and I'm happy.

In general, she does come across as kinda cold. But, I guess YMMV, though that's been pretty much the rule rather than the exception. To me she usually seems like she's just going through the motions, almost mechanically.
There was one time, though, when she seemed to be more "into it". This was back when she was at IM. That one session, she seemed a bit more playful. I would do that with my personal line (let voicemail deal with blocked numbers, etc.), but with business, I would take them anyway and just expect a certain percentage of prank calls wasting time. Not dissing the way you choose to do it; just pointing out that there are different approaches for different situations...and different people.

The one you refer to which I've noted as the Day Shift Mamasan, is whom I've had repeated bad experiences playing switcharoo with providers. If you go for the first time I think she may only talk if you talk first. Also, if you speak a little japanese it will really help.

Tendo Reconsider. Key word is "massage". Oriental Massage has ages 40+ providers if that is your fancy. Stopped by there one year and a half ago when most of the AMPS were too busy including Tengoku. The visual appearance of the Korean provider fully clothed was deceiving. C-cups, hour glass figure, shoulder length permed hair, slim and trim. My personal policy is to politely decline any demand from an AMP woman for money up front (because providing the money up front can decrease the incentive for satisfactory performance). I will explain to such a woman that I'm very honest, perhaps show her that I have the money, and tell her that there will be no problem with her obtaining the money if she does what she says she will do. If a woman still refuses to perform without receiving the money up front, I will talk with a mama. Sorry to hear of a bad experience based upon my review. Erin clarified the amount, but didn't ask me for cash up front. My experience was totally different. Agree. There's no benefit to mentioning the website. This is especially true for licensed massage establishments, where they can LOSE their license or at a minimum get them suspended.
Hoike - You should be going to an AMP not a licensed massage therapist, if you are not going to be discreet. Your comments basically said "FIRE" and drew attention in so many unwanted ways. You may be a newbie, so it might be a rookie mistake, but it hurts everyone else.

This of course is not news to us whom frequent the forums. Owners are definitely concerned and feeling extremely frustrated especially since their legitimately licensed business is severly impacted from bad reports of staff whom have been reported providing "extras". Employment of the staff members that have violated State Law are easily terminated, however the legitimate establishment's reputation is tarnished forever especially from those seeking legitimate services. This may be news to you or any noobs, but numerous legitimate patrons of massage therapy do NOT seek those "extras" and are dead serious about ensuring the establishment does not offer them either. Numerous providers that used to provide extras to regulars have been "fired" recently. Providers at Pink Orchid as reported are no exception. When a legitimate massage establishment loses its license or is suspended, then the owner of the establishment loses as well their sole source of revenue. Compound that with the penalty fees and court appearances now inflicted on them. The owners of three legitimate locations I have been to these past two weeks have stated that they are planning on selling their business and/or retiring since it is no longer a viable source of revenue with the constant legal issues imposed due to staff that are caught providing "extras". You may not care and choose to turn your back on the issue. However, keep in mind that there is a striking balance with the State of Hawaii allowing legitimate and not so legitimate establishments and/or services in business. I would strongly recommend that those of you who seek "extras" at legitimate establishments be more prudent with your requests otherwise Hawaii may end up implementing similar laws that California and other States had implemented several years ago. Certainly, imposing the law would not eliminate the existence of such services and/or establlishments. Imposing these laws only make it easier to catch the "Johns" and "Shut down or severly fine the establishment". Other States now also post the list of "Johns" publicly. Hawaii is a gold mine for "extras" which is reason many Mainland providers seasonally travel here among other destinations. YMMV. Be safe and happy mongering.

Actually, calling them and booking an appointment would be the appropriate way to go. They will give you the room number then. They work by appointment only, as a general rule. Numerous providers that used to provide extras to regulars have been "fired" recently. Providers at Pink Orchid as reported are no exception. When a legitimate massage establishment loses its license or is suspended, then the owner of the establishment loses as well their sole source of revenue. Compound that with the penalty fees and court appearances now inflicted on them. The owners of three legitimate locations I have been to these past two weeks have stated that they are planning on selling their business and/or retiring since it is no longer a viable source of revenue with the constant legal issues imposed due to staff that are caught providing "extras". You may not care and choose to turn your back on the issue. However, keep in mind that there is a striking balance with the State of Hawaii allowing legitimate and not so legitimate establishments and/or services in business. I would strongly recommend that those of you who seek "extras" at legitimate establishments be more prudent with your requests otherwise Hawaii may end up implementing similar laws that California and other States had implemented several years ago. Certainly, imposing the law would not eliminate the existence of such services and/or establlishments. Could be, but to throw a monkey wrench into the equation a lot of the providers, even in Japan, are actually Korean. Korean girls who were born and raised in Japan do not get the same treatment as the Japanese women get as there is widespread discrimination there. So, a provider who in all intents and prurposes could be called "Japanese" in manerism, language, looks and nationality could really still be Korean. Just something to ponder...

She might have been sweating a little. I didn't really notice. What I do know for sure is that she wasn't winded in the least bit. Can't say the same for me, at that moment.
