Sunday morning just before 7 am I saw three wsw between Fullerton and the mc d's but I had no time to stop. Maybe the mild winter is allowing them to stay out. Maybe global warming is not that bad.

What my friend is talking about for those that do not know is that the melrose theater is also catering to a special crowd. But near as i could tell that was only on Sundays and most mongers have familys to be with so it really shouldnt be a problem.

The fact that there aren't a lot of posts about the theater may not be because it's a "big secret." From what I've seen, the trend there seems to be going more and more in a direction that most mongers here wouldn't be interested in ("not that there's anything wrong with that..." ;)).

Yes it is a hit or miss as far as theater fun. Although they did have a flyer for the femcar Superbowl party. The bj queen has been there a few times usally on friday night i know i have talked to her.

I was there Turkey day. Sure, lots of couples showed. Most where there to see the show. Only one couple played briefly in the theater. They were also selective. It seemed they preferred the booths. I think a lot of the problem is he has instituted a mandatory admission fee. It used to be you could go in the back and BS and chill if there were no couples or women in the theater. Youre exactly right. Have to imagine there're a LOT of straight guys who either don't bother to post or don't know about this site. So for every one like us who writes there're probably 5-10 guys who don't post but wont be wasting a Jackson--or all the time and "cheap" gasoline to get into the bookstore either.

Booby's is still around but the quality of the dancers has really gone down in the past couple of years. What was once arguably the best bar in the area is now one of the worst with only Playpen maybe being worse. The only positive about this place now is that some of the dancers do hj's mainly during the day but unfortunately the women that do are typically very overweight or just nasty-looking overall. If you're a fan of big women then you should check it out I guess but if not, I would go to Carl's or One Step Beyond as those are the best places in the area.
I can't say about Bobby's, kinda hard to tell if the cars in the lot there are for Bobby's or the pool hall or whatever. I never really liked Bobby's as a matter of personal opinion. Funny story about Louie D's.
I think for this to be effective, you have to understand that at the time I didn't know of Louie D's, and only heard about this Mexican joint. In fact, the only mongering information I knew about this area back then (4 or 5 years ago) was the occasional SW. I had no idea about the bars. Anyway...
I used to rock out in a band that had a practice space on grand and wolf. One very late evening, with a rather good buzz from 4 hours of rocking and drinking, a band mate says "It's late and I'm hungry. I know a good taco place open 24/7 on Lake, between Wolf and Mann.. lets go!"
I'm the soberest of the bunch, so I blindly drive us in that direction. From the time we made the left on to Lake, he said "Ok drive slow it's somewhere here." So while I'm trying to drive, I have the others reading the signs on all the buildings on the N side, waiting to hear "THERE IT IS!"
Eventually they find it, we struggle to find a parking spot, and walk back towards the restaurant. We're all following the guy who knew about this place. He opens the door and we walk into the Twilight Zone. One or two pool tables, girls in bikinis and heels, beer, smoke, guys everywhere. One of these girls is grinding something fierce in the lap of one dude at the bar, another is bending over all too suggestively at the pool table... no Mexicans anywhere and certainly no tacos.
We all look at each other with this panicked look about us, walk outside, try the next door down, and over a few Modelo's and tacos... agree that that was the weirdest experience ever.
That evening however has lead to many great adventures at our beloved bars in the area.

I'm traveling through the Elmhurst area later next week and was wondering if you guys would be willing to share some recommendations SW areas and favorite clubs where extras (on or off premises) might be available. When I RTFF, it feels like Manheim Road might be the right place and your Bookstore sounds great but hit/miss depending on who shows up and wants to play. I'm up for driving into Chicago, Cicero, Lombard, etc. so any of those areas could work but I figured I'd post here (rather than multi-post) since Melrose Park seems to be one of the more active boards and I'm sure you guys know all the suburbs in that area.

Sorry about asking for the address genuine, but I didn't realize the address you posted was for louis d's because it didn't have name, and I am not familiar with any area outside the immediate vacinity of Chicago.
Finally, the new Carls has opened up. And I'm very impressed with the layout. There is a long bar on the left as you enter the door. On the right, there is a second floor that I'm not sure what it's going to be used for. There are tables and an inclosed area. Private dances maybe? Maybe private parties? There are 4 pool tables on the main floor and all were being used when I stopped in about 7:30 on a Friday night. I only stayed for 1 beer as I had other places to go. I did notice that there was only 1 girl working. Not sure what's up with that.

Well, I answered my own question. I picked up Linda on Mannheim around the Lido Motel area. She seemed to be the only SW out there tonight and it was funny, there didn't seem to be any mongers out because I passed on her several times before I finally picked her up. I live downtown, relatively new to the city and relatively new to the forum. I have read about some of the bars in melrose park and am interested in checking some of them out.
However, with all the posts I have read (which some date back to pretty long ago) I still am not sure what these palces have to offer. Are these bars located in descent neighborhoods? Are their mexicans and thugs inside most of these bars (which I have read)? Are the girls at least average looking? What kinds of girls (white, spanish, black)? Are there dances provided at these bars and if so how much? And most importantly, do any of these places have the possibility of take-out (for a young handsome white male like myself, of course willing to fund).
I am looking for some solid reviews on the top 2 or 4 of these bars preferably from someone who frequents these palces first hand
I know alot of these questions were answered already, but they have NOT been answered recently. So don't respond telling me to read the fucking forum. One of our fellow melrose park local mongers needs to step up to the plate and proivde us with some recent and reliable information about the sorrounding bars on manheim

Ice. No thugs outside the door at any of the locations. My rating is as follows: #1 OSB, #2 Carls, #3 Louis D's, #4 Play Pen and #5 Bobbies. I'm fond of exotic looking and/or black girls and OSB has by far the best selection. They also wear NO nylons as ALL the others do. Bobbies used to be rated much higher. Classiest of all the clubs but the girls are all either old or heavy or both! Dance prices range from $10 to $20. Good bang for the buck. Take out is available at #1, #2 and #4 that I can verify have not tried at the other two. As always YMMV.

If you have never been to the lingerie bars in Melrose, these are simple directions. You want to hit all 5 at once, make your own choices, and then only go back to the ones you like. Start at One Step Beyond, as it it the farthest from the others.. Then go to Louies as it is very close to Playpen. Then go to Playpen which will probably be your only stop in there in your lifetime. Then go to Carl's, then go to Bobby's. Do not pay more than $10 for a dance. If they insist on $20, agree to 2 for $20. I rate them as follows with the caveat that I only go there during the day shift. OSB, Carl's, Bobbys, Louies, Playpen. There is an asterisk in that I haven't been to the new Carl's as it isn't open until later in the day. But the 2-3 times I had been in there, they had one real good looker.
Scores isn't open during the day and isn't a lingerie bar, its a strip club with a stage..Last I heard Lap dances were $30 or $35...
I think there is a shift change at OSB at 7 so that is probably takeout time there.

I have not been to Carls in a year probably, but at the time, I was there 2 or 3 times after midnight. It seemed like there were about 10 -15 girls there. Is that still the case? I had dances in the chairs against the wall, and the girl was doing her best to make me cum in my pants. She and two others offered take out at a time and place of my choosing. The new Carl's is definitely a lot better. The bar doesn't feel cramped and there are tables along the back wall for the ladies to give dances. There were 8 girls working last night all selling $20 dances with plenty of stick-shifting and grinding. Its still tough to get a good dance on a bar stool but the girls try hard. Flashes of the tops and bottoms happened with all the girls but hte pantyhose they have ot wear is still a bummer. One Step is better for that reason alone but the talent there can be hit or miss. Talent at the Playpen is typically at the low end of everybody's scale. Bobby's continues its slide from dominance to obscurity. I beleive the new Carls will put it under.

The crowd is mixed at OSB during the day but at night it's usually 80% black, 10% Hispanic and a mix of other ethnicities make up the rest of the customers. Though I'm white and I've never had a problem in OSB at night, there is a large thug element there at that time and I have a hard time believing that the one bouncer on duty would be able to break up any fight that broke out there because the place is packed with gangbanger types. The dancers are 50% black and some sexy Asian, Latina and white dancers comprise the other half. OSB offers the best deal in the area with $10 high contact dances from dancers who aren't wearing nylons but again, a white guy might feel a bit out of place at night.

I been there once and only once because the place is no touch. Under King Daley the CPD does anything it can to shutdown all the lingerie bars like it did to back of the yard but it was able to open back up. The crowd was 90% hispanic and most the girls where to. I live in the city but come of to melrose because of the touch rules so i hope that helps you.
Anyone have any info on the place on Lake St. west of Wolf Rd. I didn't know if they did masages there, other things, or just a rip off joint like the ones in Bloomingdale / Addison.

Different people have different opinions. Most here I have read find OSB to be the best. Based on my experience, I would have to agree. The girls look just as good as the other bars. There has also been more feelies, both for me and the girl. The girls are not as eager to get away from you. Finding it is tough if you're not familiar with the area. There is a school right across the street. I had better luck the first time finding the address than the name.

I was shocked to see how much of a show she actually gave. The "girls" came out in the open more than once in the 30 or so minutes I was there. She seemed to be migrating towards the guys in suits, and I was in an unusal (for me) casual mode. Anyway, never even got a hello.
after I left Carls, I was about to give up, but thought I'd just give Bobby's a try. There was this older (looked to be 40+) dark haired swedish woman working. She looked good for her age and for her occupation. Said she comes here for 3 months at a time to make money and goes back... never know whether to believe that crap or not. Anyway, the bar itself was lined w/ people (guys and girls), so I grabbed a beer and sat on a table to the right. She came over and got me, took me back to corner stool in pool room and gave one hell of a dance - DFK, kept pulling my hands to her chest, and allowed full roaming under her pantyhose. She asked if I could afford another dance and on the second the grinding was so good, I popped in my shorts which I haven't done since college. Anyway, she wanted $20 per song, which I wasn't expecting for a daytime girl, but given what I got, it was a bargain.
Only downsides of the adventure was the $20 I wasted on beers at the other places, well that and the fact that I couldn't continue to run my errands without stopping home to change my jeans.

I made a trip out to melrose park last night. First hit up the bookstore, but there were way too many guys hanging in the front so I guessed there were no females there.
I asked the guy at the counter about the lingerie bars up here and he told me how to get to them. By the way, I tried to find OSB on my own and could not find after driving down lake st back and forth 8 times. I kno the address is 1710 but I still couldn't find it while driving.
After reading a recent post, I decided to stop in playpen because it was the first bar I saw. The girls were hot in this place. After reading all the posts about osb I finally decided to stop in and check it out. Got there about 6 on friday, the place seemed pretty empty for a bar on a friday. There were about 4 or five girls working. So I went up to the bar, got a beer and took a seat against that big ass mirrored wall. About two sips into my beer this decent looking black chick dressed like school girl comes over and basically throws herself into my lap. She looked a lot better B4 she opened her mouth. She had a kind of a hyper personality, which was kinda cool for the first couple of minutes then it just became annoying. She gave an average dance, then told me to move outta her spot so her sugar daddy could have the seat, s I finished my beer and left.
I guess for all of the comparisons that I hear between all of the soft core strip clubs in the area, I guess my expectations were just a little to high for osb. Or I just happened to pop in on a bad night.

The joint is much better after 10:oo or even midnight. That is when the hot girls like Tracy and Aila are working. IVY works 8-12 or something like that, she is also hottttt. Other than these, there is not much reason to stop by. At least by my standards. IVY seems to be the only one that keeps regular hours. The others work when they come in, mostly Thurs-Sat.
