I've never joined a verification site, not will I ever. It's too risky. It's only a matter of time before they get hacked or infiltrated by LE. Hackers could use the info to blackmail you into paying a fee to keep your activities private. It's fairly common for hackers to hold databases hostage. If billion dollar corporations can get hacked you can bet your ass they're vulnerable. As far as LE, this would be an easy way to cherry pick "human trafficking" customers then extort money via plea deals.

I never websurf without using at least a VPN connection, and usually with a browser equipped to hit onion routers and gateways. This is for both my machine at home and for my smartphone.

You don't have to break the bank. Just go to Kohls or JCPenneys and pick up some reasonably priced stuff. Also, if you look nicer you'll probably get more attention from the dancers or gals since they'll peg you as someone with a good job who has money to spend.

All the main action is in about a 6 block area. Walk around during the day, taxi or walk with others at night. Taxi costs about 2 bucks to get around the area there. Most chica's will want you to get a taxi if you meet them and want to take them back, unless you are the next street over. Watch out for the chica con bananas unless that's your thing. They work the street corners at night. The real chicas are working the clubs and hotels. Most of the chicas know enough English to get the party started. Don't expect to have a conversation on work or school or something else, unless you know Spanish or have a translation app. Stop by Zone 2 and tell Jimmy hello.

DR is fun as well, but have not been there in a few years because from ORL Spirit is by far cheaper but lands at 2 am and then you have a 2 hour drive to POP. AA flies to POP but I have never seen it lower then 600 or 700 RT and that's just crazy talk! Rather save the coin for my fun when there. CRT is good intel and discounts for a ton of hotels and drinks.

The only recent comparable bar around this area to the CR bar scene was Pete & Mabels and that cannot hold a candle to the nicas and the ticas in CR Plus throw in the domicans and the Columbians Put it on your bucket list boys.

Lots of good info for tourists there including trip reports.
Yes its safe to go it alone. You will meet a ton of others all staying at the same hotels all there for the same reason. All the main action is in about a 6 block area. Walk around during the day, taxi or walk with others at night. Taxi costs about 2 bucks to get around the area there. Most chica's will want you to get a taxi if you meet them and want to take them back, unless you are the next street over. Watch out for the chica con bananas unless that's your thing. They work the street corners at night. The real chicas are working the clubs and hotels. Most of the chicas know enough English to get the party started. Don't expect to have a conversation on work or school or something else, unless you know Spanish or have a translation app. Stop by Zone 2 and tell Jimmy hello.

CR is not America bro. They won't look down on you for not being able to speak their language. Buy a Spanish phrase book and speak it when you can. They would be impressed that you're making an effort.

After reading all these posts about CR I am seriously tempted to go myself. Question: is it relatively safe to travel there alone? How well must your spanish be to converse there?
