I'm from San Diego but this Thursday/Friday I will have the pleasure of visiting New York for a business trip, and I was wondering if I can get some tips on how to score a streetwalker for Thursday night in my hotel room.

As Prostitutes Turn to Craigslist, Law Takes Notice

GARDEN CITY, N.Y., Sept. 4 — The eight women visited Long Island this summer along with vacationing families and other business travelers, staying in hotels and motels in commercial strips in middle-class suburbs like East Garden City, Hicksville and Woodbury. Their ages ranged from 20 to 32.
Three had come all the way from the San Francisco Bay area, one from Miami. Two lived less than 60 miles away, in Newark and Elizabeth, N.J. and two even closer, in Brooklyn.
All eight were arrested on prostitution charges here, snared in a new sting operation by the Nassau County police that focuses on Craigslist.org, the ubiquitous Web site best known for its employment and for-sale advertisements but which law enforcement officials say is increasingly also used to trade sex for money.
Nassau County has made more than 70 arrests since it began focusing on Craigslist last year, one of numerous crackdowns by vice squads from Hawaii to New Hampshire that have lately been monitoring the Web site closely, sometimes placing decoy ads to catch would-be customers.
“Craigslist has become the high-tech 42nd Street, where much of the solicitation takes place now,” said Richard McGuire, Nassau’s assistant chief of detectives. “Technology has worked its way into every profession, including the oldest.”
Augmenting traditional surveillance of street walkers, massage parlors, brothels and escort services, investigators are now hunching over computer screens to scroll through provocative cyber-ads in search of solicitors.
In July raids, the sheriff of Cook County, Ill., rounded up 43 women working on the streets — and 60 who advertised on Craigslist. In Seattle, a covert police ad on Craigslist in November resulted in the arrests of 71 men, including a bank officer, a construction worker and a surgeon.
And in Jacksonville, Fla., a single ad the police posted for three days in August netted 33 men, among them a teacher and a firefighter. “We got hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hits” in phone calls and e-mail messages, said John P. Hartley, the assistant chief sheriff there.
Sex and the Internet have been intertwined almost since the first Web site, but the authorities say that prostitution is flourishing online as never before. And while prostitutes also advertise on other sites, the police here and across the country say Craigslist is by far the favorite. On one recent day, for example, some 9,000 listings were added to the site’s “Erotic Services” category in the New York region alone: Most offered massage and escorts, often hinting at more.
Law enforcement officials have accused Craigslist of enabling prostitution. But the company’s president, Jim Buckmaster, said its 24-member staff cannot patrol the multitude of constantly changing listings — some 20 million per month — and counts on viewers to flag objectionable ads, which are promptly removed.
“We do not want illegal activity on the site,” he said. Asked whether the company supported the police’s placing decoy ads on Craigslist, Mr. Buckmaster said: “We don’t comment on the specifics” of law enforcement.
Craig Newmark, the site’s founder and chairman, deferred all questions to Mr. Buckmaster.
The police have also occasionally turned to Craigslist to trace stolen goods offered for sale or make drug arrests. In June, in Nassau, spotting code words like “snow” or “skiing” to refer to cocaine, they set up a sting with an undercover officer to arrest a man who advertised cocaine for sex.
Experts say that under the federal Communications Decency Act of 1996, the ads are legal and Web site owners are exempt from responsibility for content posted by users. Craigslist, for example, last fall won dismissal of a suit that alleged housing discrimination in ads posted on its Web site. “You hold the speaker liable, not the soapbox,” explained Kurt B. Opsahl, senior staff attorney for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital civil liberties group based in San Francisco.
While Mr. Buckmaster said Craigslist was no different from old-media publications that have long carried sex-oriented ads, law enforcement officials say its scope and format are especially useful to the sex industry. With listings for some 450 cities around the world, Craigslist claims to have 25 million users and 8 billion page views a month. Posting advertisements, except those in the employment and some housing categories, is free, as is responding to them by e-mail.
“The Internet has allowed people to make contact in a way not possible before,” said Ronald Weitzer, a sociology professor at George Washington University and a researcher on prostitution. “Ten years ago this was not happening at all.”
As Nassau’s district attorney, Kathleen Rice, said of Craigslist: “It’s as easy as it gets.”
Tracy Quan, a member of the advocacy group Prostitutes of New York and author of the autobiographical novel “Diary of a Married Call Girl” (Harper Perennial, 2006), acknowledged that “the Internet became a virtual street for people in the sex industry,” but said that “the police are as inventive and as wily as sex workers are.” She said that the stings amounted to entrapment of consenting adults, and that “it seems like an enormous waste of time resources by authoritarian busybodies.”
The police say that Craigslist has changed prostitution’s patterns, with people roaming the country, setting up shop for a week or two in hotels — often near airports — where they use laptop computers and cellphones to arrange encounters for hundreds of dollars, then moving on to their next location.
“They like to move around, that’s for sure,” said Assistant Chief McGuire. “They’re flying in from out of state because there is money here” on Long Island.
In Westchester County this spring, the police in Greenburgh, Rye, Rye Brook and Elmsford formed a joint task force to investigate ads on Craigslist, resulting in 30 arrests. Some of those arrested were out-of-town prostitutes who booked numerous dates in advance, then whisked in for a busy couple of days, the police said.
In Sandpoint, Idaho, population 8,105, R. Mark Lockwood, the police chief, said that an arrest this summer involving Craigslist “was probably our first prostitution case since World War II.”
Amid the police crackdown, in a game of electronic cat-and-mouse, the authorities say that Web site users who get wind of enforcement sometimes post warnings to thwart investigators.
The Craigslist modus operandi provides mobility, helping prostitutes keep a few steps ahead of the law, law enforcement officials say. It also affords a degree of anonymity — if they are caught, being away from home makes an arrest less embarrassing.
Pimps have also adapted to the computer age, the police say. Among those arrested here in August, on charges of promoting prostitution, was Victor Teixeira, 31, of Mineola. “He was managing the technology of it,” said Assistant Chief McGuire. “He recruited the women on the Internet. He put different ads up sometimes three times day. He would screen the calls and make the appointments.”
Mr. Teixeira pleaded not guilty; he could not be reached for comment.
Most of the arrests are on misdemeanor charges, with convictions resulting in fines of a few hundred dollars; only repeat offenders risk jail time. The real penalties are the disruption of business, the cost of lawyers and the seizures of computers and cash — as much as several thousand dollars at a time. The police say the focus on such misconduct is worthwhile because prostitution is often linked to other crimes involving drugs, weapons, physical abuse and exploitation of minors and immigrants.
Law enforcement officials ask why Craigslist even includes Erotic Services among its 191 categories. Mr. Buckmaster, the company president, said the site created that category “at the request of our users” for legitimate massage, escorts and exotic dancers. In an e-mail interview, he said that the police had praised the company’s cooperation, though he did not give examples.
Despite police complaints that Craigslist facilitates prostitution, some experts say the Web site also aids enforcement.
“Craigslist is a very open site, and it leaves digital footprints,” said Leslie A. Harris, president of the nonprofit Center for Democracy and Technology. “It makes it easier for the police.”

Maybe it's me, but it doesn't sound like a stretch to realize that LE will peruse CL, VV and others for leads. As ridiculous as the laws may be, they are on the books, meaning that scores of officers rely on busts for their daily bread. If I were them, I'd be drawn to "criminals" who advertise their services in popular media. It's up to us to be double careful when responding to an ad.

I'm going to make this brief & to the point: WTF is up with Craiglist? I know there was a crack down & restructure of the way CL advertise its adult aka exotic section because of the "CL Killer"! I haven't been on in a while, very busy just trying to keep my pockets wet with green because this economy is not good for business owners but I do check up to see what action is popping but CL has lost major weight & the pickings are very slim except for all the AMP's, damn there running CL, you would think the Asians own the company, lol!
So my questions is, where are all the ladies that was once on CL about 3 months ago? I know there not on the streets cause nobody is reporting about them, they might have resorted back to the save haven of the titty clubs but a lot of them can't qualify so is there another site like CL that they frequent, and don't tell me backpages cause there wack also even more than before!

I'm posting this question in hopes that someone will be able to help a guy out. I will RTFF and ask specifics if it gets to that point, but I should be ok. Here's the question. I'm going to find myself stuck at JFK in a few weeks for about three hours in between 6-9PM. Obviously it can't be to far from the JFK airport, with having to be in a taxi to wherever I try to go, and realistically only having about 30 mins driving time each way, an hour play time, and giving myself time to not miss the flight. What part of town should I be reading the forums on, and should I not be able to find anything quick, fun, and cheap in that area, what part of town should I be looking at on Eros for the escorts.

This board is far superior to any other version that has tried to come along. The other board that I am a member is created only for a few and not the interests of the hobbyists. They have paid providers who make their influence known and do not allow hobbyists to move about freely. This creates a conflict of interest. On this board we never have that problem because they have not signed on. Hobbying is separate from providing and should be treated as such. They also don't create rules that stifle enjoying yourself in the game. I am on a suspension by the other board and my posting and reviewing privileges were revoked. When I am restored I will probably cancel my membership.
This is a real board and if want to hobby this where you want to start. No other board has come close.
When you are exchanging PMs be specific with info. Put everything that is needed to be known so you don't have to go back and forth. Put the person who you need to know and a contact number.
I have been reading the other board and I realize a lot of us overpay. Their is so much good stuff out that would can get your itch scratched for under 10 jacksons.

I understand that this chick is banging 20 dudes a day but don't let me know that, let me feel like you haven't seen a client in a couple hours!
When you find out how long I want to see you, put your phone on mute, it ain't like you going to have another john during our session, they can call back.
Always smell fresh (wash your kitty and mouth) just in case your next client wants to DATY or kiss your sensual lips, not a good thing to think in the back of our minds that we kissing the next dudes dick in some kinda way (listerine does wonders)!
Make it your business to look sexy or appealing to your client, don't have your hair in a wrap or rollers, put on some sexy shoes, nice tight jeans, maybe sexy underwear or what ever, set the mood boo.

Very good fellows. But lets flip the coin and hear about the complaints from the providers about hobbyists. Good providers are usually on point but here are their complaints.
Keeping the appointment. If you have a legitimate excuse let the provider know. Calling and being a no show is a loss of money.
This is a business and money is time. Treat this just like a regular commitment. Do not waste their time.
Have a plan be if they are not available.
If they don't answer try again.
On the other time of the coin if they have a good attitude on the phone proceed. If they seem distracted and out of it move on. Pictures mean nothing so keep that in mind unless they are utrs. Utrs take real pictures because they are real and not fake.
More on a the provider check list.
1. When we call you and tell you we will be there in an hour to pick you ladies up you shouldn't have us waiting outside for a half an hour or more. We gave you an hour to get ready and theres no excuse for that. Also if I wait fifteen minutes outside for you and you are not out I'm out. See ya. Your loss not mine. After all we are giving you money and saving you a cab or taxi ride. So you get to keep all of the money we give you.
2. This one here is my favorite. If you pay for the hour or the half and you cumm say in ten minutes the girls want to get up and leave. We are not paying by the nut we are paying by the time. So if we pay for a half or an hour we should get that amount of time and more fun. LOL.
3. If the ladies have somewhere to go please don't make an appoinment and rush us out so you can go out with your friends.
Its a two way street and yes some guys have done the same shit to the girls but this isn't tit for tat it should be a fair exchange.
When you have a utr that is looking for friends send the name number and who sent you that way their is no confusion

I was wondering how you guys deal with the apathy present from other members who sponge but don't participate.
I have been posting, typically in Albany forums since 2003 and rarely had any issues. But lately I have been getting a ton of PM's asking stupid questions that are easily solved by RTFF. Then when I take the time to respond with good advice or info, I get no response back. No report of good or bad luck, no PM thanks for the info. Nothing, nada, zilch.
Although it may sound like it, I am really NOT looking for a "thank you". I am looking for others to report on their experience, good or bad. And I get nothing. Frankly, I'm getting tired of reading my own reports. LOL. Sometimes I feel as though I am single handedly supporting the whole Albany Scene (I know thats not the case. But still).
Just wondering what those of you with 500+posts and 1000+ posts think. I don't want to help those who don't want to at least try to help the group. But I don't want to go UTR and just PM senior members I know with the 411.

I feel the same way you do and the more info you give the more they come at you. Another problem is people taking the info and never using it and collecting like they are baseball cards. Then six months later they hit you again wanting to know if the provider (s) are still active. I talk to some of these girls and they say nobody ever calls and when they do it is six months later. I understand both sides of the situation so I am neutral when it comes towards listening.
Bottom line post reviews share info and keep it moving

Quality UTRS are out there but everybody is picky when it comes to making a choice. Minority quality UTRS are getting the short end of the stick LOL.

When it comes to someone over posting on BP it is usually a bad sign. Why should they have to place so many ads?
When it comes to UTR when someone is over posting or over promoting the same can be said.
I few posts have been written about UTR's that are over promoted and not the best looking in face or body.
Guys need to be reminded that no one is going to promote UTR's without satisfying their own interest or gain.
Service and attitude are more important than face and body. I generally start at 5 and above. These are not my civilian friends just providers who have great skills.
Always UTRS provide a alternative to terrible BACKPAGE selections. IMHO go for the BBWS and certain select slim goodies that have been approved by board members with legit credentials.
Think out of the box and don't be be influenced by he cyber bullies who are frustrated. Remember hobbying is fun to release your stress and tension. Nothing more and nothing else.

Yes there are terrible selections in Backpage, however, there are terrible selections with UTR's and the individuals who promote UTR's. Guys are saying that so let's not overlook their negative experiences with so called UTR's or UTR promoters.
Imagine for a second,
A guy meets a SW who is out there for everyone to hookup with for a Jackson.
Now a guy promotes her as a UTR for a Benjamin and a Grant.
The SW pays the promoter a cut, keeps the difference and comes out ahead.
If one or two guys did this, just imagine if everybody did it.
I'm just saying. Promoting is not just about looking out for the hobbyist.
More and more hobbyist want to do without the middleman.
Nobody is ripping anybody off. When you get the info it is usually in the private message. I never discuss what I pay with my utr friends on a aspen board because then everybody will come at her. When you call her you know what the price is and and then you use your own skills.
That is the difference between UTRS and backpage. I see prices are not listed a lot any more because of entrapment issues. Also the providers ask if you are affiliated with LE before they proceed with the transaction.

I have also had several board members accuse me of being a pimp. This is a serious allegation. I have thick skin and it does not keep me awake at night.
Pimps threaten abuse and exploit other people for their own financial gain. They basically enslave the person that they are having a relationship with. They brainwash people into giving them money for so called protective services. In return they get nothing back if they are lucky. They are kidnapped and forced to perform sexual acts with people they do not know for money. Their are more items on the list but these are probably the ones that most people are familiar with if you have been part of the street game.
I have never done any of these things to another human being and I have no intention of starting.

I am going to keep going. No third party issues here. One person admitted he assaulted a provider on a open board. The provider confirmed it so that the story would not be one sided. Nothing else needs to be said.
Why don't you guy show some backbone. Assault of anybody is wrong especially a female. A crime was committed and a jury will render a verdict. This guy did not help his case so we will see what happens.

I may have mentioned this before but I just want to say this again. After you have gotten the contact number from me please do not ask me any questions about what the provider does. They will be more than happy to answer your questions directly. They are not back page providers who get 100s of dumb calls each day. I got a PM and somebody is asking me does she do facials. Call her directly and she will answer your question. A lot of hobbyists are afraid to ask if the provider does BBBJ. I have no problem in asking.

This hobby has always been fun for me. The providers I see enjoy me and I enjoy them. As I have continued to develop I have been able to see both sides of the fence.
We as hobbyists always complain about bad attitudes bait and switch up sell etc. However we are not on our best behavior and that is annoying also. We call providers and when they are ready for a appointment we can not be reached. The provider gets frustrated. Should the provider save your number and make your life hell. Probably not but she has to have some recourse.
This morning I got a call from one of my favorites who I had recommended and she told me that someone was standing her up after they confirmed the appointment. The guy might have a legitimate excuse but he should call and let the provider know. When I am getting take out the provider tells me to text my address which basically locks me in to committing. I told my friend to do this to prevent her waste of time.
Probably nobody will ever admit to this kind of behavior but I want people to be aware of it.
I just received the Christmas list from Gtrack and their are many holiday pleasures for the discerning hobbyist. He has a mix of everything which will keep you happy well into the new year.

The year is over and I had a good time this year. I found reliable providers at a reasonable price who never watched the clock. I got to know them outside of the game and this helped.

This sting is no big deal. It just means another blow to the street game. The good providers will start to advertise inside and out. The more seasoned providers will start to use the classifieds if they are indie.
I spoke to a couple of my favorites who do double duty and they are already preparing to take the game indoors.
So establish a network of reliable providers and you cut down your chances of getting picked up. It will cost you a little more but it beats being the center of attention.
Some food for thought. I talk to a lot of providers and the general consensus is that most of hobbyists are not mentally balanced and have a screw loose. In other words we are crazy. We have fetishes are un reliable and clueless when it comes to making the final decision. Providers feed upon this making us their trick. They are fed up with guys who playing games and do not deliver in the end. I was emailing back and forth with a fellow board member and he could not get it through his head that the provider has a life just like he does. After all that was said and done he has yet to hook up. I get a lot of back channel pms which I answer promptly. Months go by and they never seem to have a connection. I do not fabricate or overhype anybody that is reviewed despite what I hear from my friends who I can trust and are reliable.

I read the article and they are basically rehashing the same thing. Talent will always be available. Some girls are knowingly doing it. Nobody forced them into anything so that article just brings to light the same issues that have gone on forever. In the las 35 years the street game has deteriorated but still stays around because girls always want something extra if they can not get something regularly. The country as a whole has gotten sexier and more infatuated so this encourages girls to become sex objects.

These are some of my tips for weeding out bad back page providers. I learned this from experience and carefully looking at pics and reading the ad.

I was in town last week and only had time in the morning. Called a few trusted providers but got no response (10 am was way too early for most). I and some of you have been experiencing recent access issues / timeouts trying to reach this USA site.
I assume "the management" has added more web security that checks IP Address black lists.
If you are having issues, determine your devices IP Address and then see if there are hits on any black lists. Easy web search to find web sites that can provide both of these inquiries.
So what do you do to get around the black list? I assume trying to remove from a list is not worth the effort.
The first question should be why is the IP address black listed?
If it is a desktop / laptop with home wifi, this IP Address should not change much at all. You computer maybe compromised. If you are not a cybersecurity fanatic, time to start.
Are you using a VPN? Are you using a TOR Router / Browser?
A lot of hackers will use these privacy networks and thus many of the IPs will quickly get black listed. These privacy mechanisms should provide an ability to change Identity / IP address, you may need to try a few of them.
